    This video should be compulsive viewing for Police Forces round the world to demonstrate how to deal with a peaceful demo . No Tear gas, no Baton charges, no Guns. No Injuries.
    As for the protests I simply hope that the idea spreads around the world, anyone with half a brain knows that carefully targeted peaceful demonstrations eventually get their prize.

      I stated in another reply, blocking traffic is not the most effective means of getting your way. You need everyone to support your cause. Making me miss my new daughter being born or My mum who is having a stroke that can be reversed if she gets to hospital quickly but is stuck in traffic 4 km from the bridge isn't going to win you anything. I would hate you if that happened to me and my family. Large protests like marathon races can be viewed as a narcissistic endeaver. You run with headphones in to the finish, get the shirt and drive home never speaking to a fellow runner. Protesters assemble, stand around, actually contribute to global warming by concentrating their exhaled warm CO2 in masse. Plus driving to the event.... Tons of irony. My suggestion is to bring a can of food to feed the hungry, take the huge crowds and do a neighborhood cleanup or perhaps cleaning riverbank. Go Hands-on, visible outcomes. "Who cleaned up the neighborhood? It was those nice climate change people. I need to find out what they are about." Organize an adopt an old person in a care facility commitment. Visit them once a week and truly listen and learn. Much better than a pound puppy. The wisdom you gain will give you peace and take away so much of the anxiety. They have been through it all and they still have a caring, loving heart for you, just visit them.
      BTW your use of the words Targeted peaceful demonstrations represent something different to me. I have no problem calling that "Domestic Terrorism". If through your targeted demonstration my rights are violated I will proudly file a complaint and seek damages for violating my rights. Feel free to justify the closing of 5 bridges and the subsequent gridlock to the husband of the wife that bled to death after childbirth because she couldn't get to the hospital. Get it!?!?! You have a right to protest. You don't have a right to impair or impede on another's rights. EVER!!!! You don't!!!

      Roger would be the first to agree he is also guilty of some actions that have eco cost. Once I was at a party where a crew came in a diesel truck to set up solar power for the whole weekend. For many including myself it was our introduction to solar energy. Where they wrong to come? No. The knowledge benefit outweighed the fuel use issue IMO. Ive met Roger. I believe he thinks carefully about each action he does, and after reading his book Im inspired to try to do the same. Doubtless I will sometime fail but that doesnt necessarily make me a hypocrite. • @Justin-ib2iz
      @Justin-ib2iz 5 лет назад +1

      @@studmalexy this reasoning is utterly ridiculous. What they are protesting for is government reform forcing big companies to massively reduce their pollution levels. Yes there'll need to be changes in consumption as well but the main thing is forcing companies to spend money on something that doesn't give them a direct profit, going green. It matters way more how environmentally friendly the production process of your groceries is than how many people are buying groceries

    • @Justin-ib2iz
      @Justin-ib2iz 5 лет назад +3

      @@studmalexy No I don't actually, I try to consume responsibly already but I'm willing to do much more and would be happy to see massive societal shifts where, to name something, we stop investing in ever faster smoother phones that we throw our old ones out for. Personally I believe we've made profit margins sacred throughout the west and, even without breaking with capitalism entirely, finally collectively recognising that a rising line on a chart of $ says precious little about how much something benefits society would be a start. But we need this to happen globally, because otherwise countries are going to keep pointing at each other and saying "well he's not doing it so why should I?"
      Reducing pollution, it's really not that complicated. We know very well what practices damage biodiversity and increase co2 levels, etc. It's simple but for many big companies switching to green energy, implementing more extensive recycling into their production chain and such are costly, and they're not going to do it until they're legally forced to or or become the cheaper option. Technological advancements will eventually make it a non-issue but we can't wait that long so governments need to make those options the most attractive ones, or the only available ones, or both.
      Anyway my main point was that immigration is in no way a factor to climate change worth even mentioning compared to the actual causes, unless you just want an excuse to say you don't like immigration in toto.

      In the early 1980s I came up with the world's first self-funding near-zero CO2 plan, no major economy had adopted such a plan as yet. To summarize:
      A 10 kilometre deep lined and capped water well can convert all power stations to clean energy, a cut of 30% in CO2 emissions. A 20% cut would come from electrification of all vehicles. 41% would come from coating all buildings in Starlite. Aircraft and Ships could halve emissions by using fuel mixed with water using an ultrasonic dibber. Aircraft account for 6% of CO2, while shipping accounts for 4.5%, so another 5.25% can be saved. The total savings would then be 96.25%. Improving soil using biochar would then cut CO2 in the atmosphere by locking it in the ground.
      It can all be paid for by eliminating mental illness using the Kadir-Buxton Method.
      Biochar is an ancient invention being found by archaeologists that locks atmospheric CO2 in the soil for thousands of years, a by-product of it's soil improving function.

    Why not have some alternative to normal prisons which are far too expensive ? An idea would be a camp with minimal facilities and very low costs

    You need to understand the disruption that this causes to a large city that has a geographic barrier such as a river which has the potential for delaying the response by the emergency services for a life threatening emergencies.

      Most of the massive roads programme in the 90s was shelved because of tree sitting, roadblocks and office occupations. Extinction rebellion is using the same techniques of direct action which has proven to work.
