- Top 30 of the lowest scoring songs in Eurovision Song Contest Semi Finals 2008-2021. Since the voting system has changed many times and every year the number of voting countries change it's ranked in percentage.

"Play" (Estonia 2016) was so fricking robbed, I can't believe it ended up last overall. This deserved to be in the Final so much, back then.
The song is fantastic, Jüri is an amazing singer. But the performance was cringe. 🙁
While Play is a very good song and deserved a place in the final, the performance was a complete disaster. Jüri at his worst. So fake, so unsympathetic and not even good looking (he is attractive but they did everything they could to hide this here). This cringe performance deserved to be last.

It's because Belgium, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Latvia, and Netherlands were all some of the worst ESC songs ever put to stage, so it was a race to the bottom. Any of them would've been my dead last in any of the last five years.

@@AlirioAguero2 I can definitely not agree with Latvia 2009. Probka is one of the most interesting acts that have been over the stage of an ESC in recent years. You just have to look at the not-convention 7/8 time signature of their verses.
Benny Cristo,Juri, Eye Cue, Leslie Roy, Triana Park, Hannah, Samanta, Krassimir, Miodio, Melanie, and Michael von der Heide actually had final worthy songs. The live performances were just a let down.

Complice is my winner of 2008... and the fact that it got 5 points most likely because it's a song in Italian that was fucked over in the running order by performing 5th and was in a semi with countries that barely know Italian, and it being a song from San Marino: a country that has no voting allies nor are the general audience even aware of its existence, and a powerful rock song that takes itself seriously in the joke year 2008 was is infuriating.
Thank you Andorra and Greece for giving some of your points to San Marino that year.
Not forgetting the crime that is Era Stupendo not qualifying.
Okay, nice try, the song was just bad. Italy's voting history says otherwise as they always sing in Italian and always do well.
@@nexahs1 they usually use Sanremo which is a separate entity altogether and is renowned for its quality in the fandom. Switzerland and San Marino don't have that.

@Matthew Williams right, key. sorry 😅...staging has a nice color motif but its not cohesive, and its so empty..it would be nice if the angles focuses the artists rather than the stage.
I would say that till rehearsal she was singing good, but the day before final in her instagram story when she was talking you could already hear that she had a hoarse voice and for me it wasnt suprise in the finals that she really was singing pretty bad. The biggest problem was, that she didnt save her voice in the last weeks and in the final was the result.
The saddest part is the hate what Samanta now receive in Latvia...like really really bad. So sorry for her!

The Czech Republic this year doesn't deserved a place in this top, the vocals of Benny are not good, but the song in my opinion is good.

I feel like I'm one of the only people who absolutely *loves* The Moon is Rising by Samanta Ting, that song was one of the best of the night for me and I was baffled to see that it didn't even qualify
She performed between the winner of televoting and the winner of the juries.
Also, she was kinda off key the whole time.
That attempt to hit the note "The moon is *RISIIIIIIING*" sounded more like a scream....
Liking the song and liking the performance are two different things.
I find her song amazing and it was on my top 10, but the performance was a disappointment. The performance didn't make sense. Yellow background, green dresses, it's a dance bop and no one is barely moving. It just wasn't that great.
What you notice is most of these songs are... fine. Just forgotten/outclassed.

I'm sorry, I'm probably nitpicking right now but the percentage on #30 should be 5,16% and #17 should be 3,57%. The rest was correct and overall a great video :)

Slovenia 2010 was soooo robbed. I discoverd them just last year, when I was rewatching all the songs of the last decade, since I didn't watched it back then in 2010. But this song is soo fun, energetic and I really love this combination of ACDC Rock and and the traditional oberkrainer folk. They really deserved more.

How's it possible that Czech Republic 2008 (finished 18th out of 19) is in the list but Hungary 2008 (last in the same semi) isn't?
Also, Slovakia 2009 is missing whilst the Netherlands is included with a higher score.

Ahhhhh czechia three times..... still so ashamed... back then in 2007 i didnt watch it later i really thought it was not fair how wrong i was... we're making progress except Benny but people really need to vote for a song which is funny cause i loved Norway this year but ive got excuse the moment i fell in love with Andreas' song i didnt know anything about him or how popular he was... I guess im just stuck in 2000's 😊
Even if some of these songs are nice, they had bad vocals or performers. I just can't understand what Juri and Pænda are doing here. The others are more or less deserved

Leto Svet was damn hilarious. 😂 It just had the misfortune that this was the year where everyone unloaded some kind of bullshit on Europe.
It physically hurts to see Juri Pootsmann and Miodio in this company. Most of the other songs were just okay, badly performed or downright terrible, but these two should have qualified at least, if not go top five. Play is actually still my 2016 winner. :) There are still some good songs here, like Latvia 2017, Czech Republic 2021, Ireland 2021, or even Iceland 2018. (Sure, it wasn't going to qualify in that semi, but it is cute enough. Doesn't deserve the hate it's getting.) Some were really deserving of being NQ. Especially the group from 2009 is painful to sit through.

So many amazing songs like Lost & Found, Line, Moon is Rising, Maps... but they had terrible staging/performances. It's a shame. :/ And it makes me wonder how those producers thought during the rehearsals like "Yes!! This is the winning performance, yup yup!! Good stuff". Like no. I swear I could come up with something better than some of these.
