  • Luisa De La Ville is an accomplished Venezuelan multimedia-maker who is now a jewel in New York City's content-creating community. Producer of an 84-minute documentary feature, "Children of Las Brisas," set in a neighborhood of Valencia in Venezuela follows three young kids who are musicians having graduated from the country's national, El Sistema musical education program seeking to climb the ladder in their careers and make an imprint internationally all while their country plummets into political and economic chaos since 2010. They are followed over a ten-year period and some of them, like 6.8 million of their compatriots, have had to flee their native land. Venezuelan compatriot, Marianela Maldonado is the Director of the documentary feature.
    For 20 years Luisa De La Ville did not have to seek work in media and entertainment in Venezuela, it sought her out and she is now taking over New York City by storm. She has worked as AD, Director, TV, film, script supervisor and editor, while having been Producer on four narrative features.
    "Children of Las Brisas" had its North American premiere at DOC NYC 2022.

    Children of Las Brisas (Niños de Las Brisas): SYNOPSIS
    In Venezuela, three children from the impoverished Venezuelan district in Valencia of Las Brisas channel their country's pain of poverty, murder, and corruption, countering it with music as graduates of a unique, government-sponsored youth orchestral music program, El Sistema offer children hope and the opportunity to pursue a life of art in spite of the harshness of the society around them with a country spiraling in collapse and political repression threatening their dreams, but persisten they strive as bona fide musicians in spite of all odds. Uplifting, poignant, and filled with gorgeous classical music, this film is a testament to the power of music to change and enrich lives.
