I may forget my first girlfriend, or my first kiss. But I'll never forget my first kickflip.
not gonna lie, i dont remember my first kickflip at all and it bums me out so much
wierd
David3oyd same
I landed heelflips first then I accidentally landed a varial flip before I could even kickflip. I do rememeber landing my first one tho. Felt so good.
MaynardOwns It's an amazing feeling
Only Wren would ask you to get in a motion capture suit to learn a kickflip.
that's the truth son
@@jacobcrowson3175 This was truly amazing son.
Yeah, but they also needed to record the data from the board getting some wheel recording and some board recording (board being flexible they need 6 points like 2 on each end and in the middle 2 more) because a person doing something without the tool is like trying to learn soldering technique by looking at only the person and not to the actual important stuff, how to use the tools...

Considering this is skateboarding I wouldn't be surprised if he was some sort of legendary skateboarder. "You know the movie Lords of Dog Towns? Yeah, that was about him and his crew"
Beginner skater trying to learn new trick
*skates in easiest places to lose board*
Calling him a beginner skater is a little reductive. If you've watched him on any other similar device, it's very clear he's comfortable with the mechanics of moving on a board. He's just not an avid skate boarder.
buca117 I totally agree and see your point. I’d just consider him a beginner based off of his Ollie at the beginning. By the end of the video he was no longer a beginner in my eyes. He got a lot more comfortable on the board too.
He also couldn’t pop shove it at the beginning
@@davidivey8920 Well, if 8 hours of practice is all that separates a beginner from a skater, who am I to argue :P
Gravity is a bitch
It doesn’t take someone 2 and half years to learn a kick flip, it takes someone 2 and half years to learn how to do it consistently

Thanks for watching everyone! I honestly BELIEVED I wasn't going to land that flip when we left that skate park. Then Brett and I had a margarita at my place and as I was staring at the board I decided to give it one last try. I landed something kinda close and was like "!!!!" so I just grabbed a gopro and started rolling just in case. Rarely have I been more proud of an accomplishment haha. I'm still working on it though. I'm far from having "learned" it yet, but hey! I've landed it a couple times since we finished filming this video over the weekend!!! Also my feet are in considerable pain now haha...
SirWrender nex trick, kick flip on a one wheel!

It was also Eric Koston's birthday like yesterday or today.
I used to do the same but it was with fakie inward heel flip lol. Such a meanie. Trick is not that hard but it still takes a dedicated amateur to land it.
Everyone should spam Tony Hawk with this video so he would colaborate with Wren on another video, that would be crazy
tony was mentioning how crazy it was that he can just ask random kids to do a kickflip and one clip had 3 of them do it back to back to back. going back to this video, imagine how crazy some of those kids are learning this at such a young age. skating is so insane and cool.
Brett staying late to help Wren give it one last shot even though he has to get up at 4 am is true friendship
question for you: now that you learned this trick do you want to continue skateboarding?
he didin't learned, he just landed....to be consistency take much more time and effort

@@pauloTx this comment true as fuck. I got into skating about a year ago and landing a kick flip vs consistently landing a kick flip are different things. I remember waking up at 7AM in 7th grade on a Saturday and flicking that board all the way until 5PM when I finally landed it. No fundamental trick is more satisfying to get down and accomplish. Congrats!
Damn everyone is triggered over how Brett told Wren how to do a shuv. Like maybe that’s just how Brett, am unprofessional skater just doing it for fun, was taught how. Not to mention it didn’t matter cuz he still landed it
Robbie Kenny his pop shuvs would have been way better if it was done correctly though
No skater does a pop shuv with their front foot wtf
after that ollie and especially the shuv I was surprised how good his kickflip was

skaters really aren't that hostile to people genuinely interested in it, it's when they think people are doing it just to look cool or because it's trendy, but it's not as popular as it was in the 90's so it's rare to see skaters bash newbies.
