- In an effort to maximize fun on some below average waves, Blair and videographer Dade head to the beach with a Body Board and a GOPRO on a gimbal. We left the GOPRO on record the entirety of the session to give you an idea of how fast paced skimbooarding can be. While most surfers would look at these waves and head straight back to the car, skimboarders rack up a wave count of 100 within the first hour of being at the beach.

I'm in my mid-50's and a few weeks ago went bodysurfing in Monterey for almost an hour in frigid water with just a pair of swimming trunks. It was frickin' amazing! Ain't nothing to it but to do it!

This is definitely the most inspirational, free-spirited video I’ve come across in the surfing side of YT. Skimming on a boog is what I want to do, and the very nature of it defies convention. The mastery and audaciousness you have in these montages is what pulls me closer to surfing as a Minnesota guy who only ever swam in whitewater twice in my life. I’ll get out there soon, and do what I really want to do: a little bit of everything, on one board🤙

This looks so fun! I've decided to get adventurous this year and thinking about trying skim boarding but I'm a bit worried I will fall over a lot and really injure myself 😂 I'm doing lockdown fitness every day in preparation 😂
If you do ... just be careful with wooden skimboards and dont chase them. be careful with your feets .. I got some pretty cool scratches from them on my first day lol
Besides that is all fun with the right board size

Any sport comes with risk - I tore my ACL skimboarding. It was more or less a freak accident, but it happened. Have fun!
@@onirrapdivad a mate of mine says he's seen multiple people snap their ankles skim boarding! I'm hoping up avoid that
I got moderate “road rash” from it and it took weeks to heal, but as I got better I fell less and it became really fun

Is there more advantage to learning on a beginner skim board if you have never done it, vs. a boogie board? I love boogie boarding and the lightness of it seems more appealing and less dangerous for super simple skim board trial and error... but why would it be better to get an actual skimboard?(Not sure I'd ever catch waves but just some fun gliding...)
You should do a clips of the month bit. Easy on you and the ole Dade dad since all the stuff is already recorded. And more full speed clips pls! You guys have gotten this landlocked teen psyched to learn to skim when I finally make it to the water 🤙🤙🤙

EI Skid Kids! Great video as always! I HAVE A SUGGESTION FOR A NEW VIDEO. I think it would be cool if Blair, Weber and Austin challenge each other in reaching the longest distance possible on flat water (with their skimboards of course). I think it would be a cool stuff! Imagine them running together trying to make a distance record. Do it in a flat day. COOL CHANNEL!

I thought 'bad waves, this might not be up to par'. Couldn't be further from the truth. The vibe and music just always nails it. Hard to suggest something different to do in upcoming videos, it's too close to perfect now. Maybe a way to stop idiots from clicking the dislike button, some people need attention. Other than that, the content is always inspiring and edited so well!

Help. I have 3 Nephews 6,6 and almost 8. They are true water babies and coming to visit at the ocean. I thought oh I'll get them boogie boards.. now I see there are skimboards... what the heck should I get them. They will be one on one with adults so wave safety is covered. Please all advise is appreciated. Love these videos... I think Aunty might need one too!
