I got me one of these, and let me tell you this thing is amazing. Its all I have ever needed in a drum pad. All and there's tons of sounds in there you can create any kit you want. Soon I'm uploading Linndrum kits and Simmons SDS kits. It's a beast.
I tried it and liked it a lot but what stopped me from buying it was the lack of sensitivity to light strokes (for hihats for example). I varied threshold and sensitivity but didn't get much improvement. Ditto on Roland SPD SX. The only one that responds very well even to light touches remains the old Roland SPD 30.
Hi there, what about if you sampled a real hi hat your self using the mic input? Would one be able to sample lets say 4 or 5 levels of intensity, from very light to hard strokes and have those 4 or 5 sample on 1 pad?
Thanks for the review... I def need to get me one of these for my home studio! I have a question though... when sampling single shots from a real drum kit for example, would one record lets say 4 or 5 single hits from low to high level of strenght and upload all of those samples to a single pad? How many levels of intensity will each pad recognise? I guess I'm asking, how good is the sensitivity? I am especially interested in knowing this as I'd love to be able to create realistic hi hat patterns and snare rolls... avoiding the 'machine gun effect'! Thanks again :)
In my opinion the sensitivity is good. Unfortunately you can only add 2 samples max on one pad and it will play both sounds simultaneously. So I think it’s not possible to create your own kind of sensitivity. //Simon
@@ThomannsDrumBash Thanks for your reply! Ah ok I understand, so with the preloaded factory kits the sensitivity is good which allows to perform realistic hi hat patterns and fills without it sounding too 'machine gun like'... I'm still undecided if I should buy the Roland SPD 30 or the Alesis strike multipad! Many thanks
Unfortunately you need to buy an extra mount for the pad. For example the „Roland Stay Connecting Plate“ or the „Millenium E-Drum Multi-Clamp“. There is also an Alesis Multipad Clamp.
It's something between 2 and 4 seconds. It seems not that long but if you have to change Kits in between a song like a in medley, where you sometimes have to change kits in one bar or even less, it can get really tricky and you have to time it pretty good.
@@ThomannsDrumBash thanks. I'm going to pick one of these up soon, and plan to use it on stage. I already have the Roland, so I may set it up so that I can play on one pad while the other is loading. I appreciate you getting back to me so quickly.
@@christheghostwriter Alright cool! Your welcome. Let me know how this worked out. I just got myself the Alesis too and will share my thoughts on it when i used it in life situation if interested!
@@savanaviolenta thanks. I play live electronic music (with a DJ and a bunch of hardware; I'm not a big fan of laptops on stage because they can be fussy and a whole show can go down over software glitches). Over the years I've had every pad from the original Octapad from the 80s to the low-end but surprisingly responsive Simmons pad from the aughts, and everything in between. This new Alesis pad looks like it might be the best one yet, at least from the vids I've seen so far. My next show is in December and I'm hoping to be up and running with the Strike Pad by then. I typically plan setlists and song transitions around issues like patch changes, differences in tempo from song to song, etc., so a few seconds is not unusual and shouldn't be much of an issue.
Good morning! Does anybody knows if Alesis strike pad have tempo synch, in order to change tempo to the internal loop and layer functions also, in order to have two sounds sample in one pad? Please let me know cause I'm interested to buy this instrument! Thanks a lot in advance! Cheers from Italy!
Thomann's Drum Bash Thx ... Can i listen to samples while i change the pitch before save or overwrite the samples??? Because i have to listen to the current key, how they sounds... like other Pads....

Did you upload Linn and SDS kits?
Love that intro
I really need this 🤩😁
Always warm up with that first kit...and yes it also does 808.

very cool unit I need a panic button on my comments! Do they have a mount for adding it to my Drum Rack so I can add it to my other E drums?

What do you mean when you say it takes "really long" to switch kits? Is it 5 seconds? 30 seconds? A minute? How long is "really long"?

is there any option to change pitch ??
Yes. Every sound has the option in the settings to be pitched up or down. //Simon
