I really like the case as well, I got porcelain to match the phone, it's grippy enough, seems like it has decent protection while not being too thick. The soft touch on the inside is a nice touch so debris doesn't scratch the glass on the back overtime. Fitment is super nice yet it was easy to put on, buttons feel good, etc. plus it had a steep discount when you bought it with the phone.
I had the belroy leather case on my 7, it was expensive but felt super nice, however it's wearing very fast and already cracked in multiple spots. It went from green to black/dark blue from my jeans too.
Hey, since you have experience with various Pixel cases, may I ask you to watch a review I've made on my channel? Would love to hear feedback from you!
Cheers!
Just got the pixel 8 case and was worried it wasn't going to be grippy enough so thanks for the review!
No problem thanks for watching
I miss the Google fabric cases 😢
Yea google should just offer all three, I know people who like each for really good reasons
Same! I wonder if they sold badly or why they got rid of them
Since so many people ask for that, my guess is, that they will add those in the future (maybe for the newer phones).
Google is a total different company when they started the Tensor phones. No more XL branding, no more fabric cases, starting price is more affordable but that means less features than the pro version. The only consistent thing is the battery life is still mediocre to average which is disappointing. Too much background processes happening I guess
@@fightnight14 hey, I guess you may like my content, based on what you said
I'm glad they went away from the hard thin cases. My 6 Pro and 7 Pro cases had a texture I just didn't like and they always would get dirt and dust between the case and the phone that would wear on the aluminum side rails. I'm glad the newer version is snugger and has a microfiber interior to prevent that kind of wear on the finish. I ordered the Coral 8 Pro case when I was drunk Friday night and think I'm going to see how I like it instead of cancelling.
what do you think of the coral? Thinking about ordering but worried it's too bright / pink
@stonef97 not for me personally, but it's cool for those that like that color way
I like mine a lot, feels very comfy in hand, nice+grippy, not too thick, buttons feel great, and think it looks really good as well. got it on a whim and i'm pleased.
magsafe would've been nice; wonder if we can add it somehow.. i know they make magsafe stickers or something.
Magsafe would've been a perfect addition man. I want it on EVERY case 😂
i have the same feeling as you when comparing the p7 and p8 cases. Grip and feel on the p8 cases are pretty dam good
Yea did a great job on it imo
Great review! Please review more 8 pro cases. Thank you!
Will do!!!
Thanks for the recommendation of the official case, I was considering other cheaper option but you convinced me to go for official case itself :)
Thanks a lot
Watching this review because I just pre-ordered the Pixel 9 Pro XL with the official Google case. This will be my first official Google case and wanted to get an idea of what to expect. Wondering if there will be any difference between their 8 Pro case vs. the 9 Pro XL case.🤔
Yea not sure on that one. I opted out of going official because I need magsafe support. But if you don't I think this will still be a great option
@@IkesTechTalk Yeah I don't need mag safe. Love the channel! I'll let you know what I think about the case. 👍
Thanks for sharing. Nice case. Blessings on your day!
Thanks for the support as always Jeff 👊🏾
Thnx for detailed review on this thing. You helped me to make right choice, bro
Nice glad I could help
Just feel like I would like a little more camera protection but thank you for the review
Yea the back lip doesn't protrude as much. Might be best to run a glass camera protector on the back
For the price, MagSafe would have been nice. My 8 pro is currently in my Moment 7 pro case waiting for my Google case. For the first time buttons line up and it works. Doesn’t fit tight, but surprisingly it works.
Glad to hear they fixed the buttons. I didn't even pick one up last year because of the buttons and loose fit on my 6 Pro version
Just bought the blue one. Good review.
Enjoy!!!!
Only problem is you cant use any stickers to get mag safe nothing sticks to that silicone
That's a huge phone it looks like a lot of work to use in day-to-day especially with that slippery case
Dope case Sir.
appreciate it sir, eagarly awaiting your coverage as well
@@IkesTechTalk ayyyye
There is a week point in the lip just above the area where you plug in charger...It DOESN'T protect the bottom of the screen . Got a cracked screen with 2 weeks of purchasing the phone and case
After breaking my last phone with a cheap thin case, no more thin cases for me. I got a Spigen Tough Armor and screen and lens protectors 👍
Nothing wrong with that. Phones are really expensive lol so I totally get why you feel that way
@@IkesTechTalk Which sucks since the phone's design totally disappears 🙃 but we're not rich folks, a 1000$ hurts
Big facts right there
I choose the same and inoove the colour and design its perfect
I like hard plastic cases. Im basic and don't like all the bells and whistles. I have noticed that the quality of cases for my iphone are better than my pixel cases even from the same company and i find that annoying. 🤷🙃 I want to try the official case from Google but I'm nervouse about silicone cases.
Thanks for the review
No problem. And you're spot on. iPhone cases are always better quality. iPhone sells more so case brands have to make sure those cases are on point as more people will buy.
I wish Google had smart cases like the Samsung S-view flip cases, I loved the one for my note9. I'm looking for another flip cover for the pixel 8, but not those thick, wallet-like ones, I'd prefer a minimalistic flip cover that at least still allows for wireless charging (I understand that some cases are too thick to make that work)... Any advice is welcome!!
Just saw these "Case-Mate Signature Clear Case" on the Google store, maybe I'll go for that together with a screenprotector...
That might be a solid option. I've never used case mate before. Let me know how that one is
@@IkesTechTalk ok just got this case, seems to do what it needs to and fits nicely, buttons are extended with loose plastic button covers, they feel pretty good to use. The case itself looks a bit thick, but I think that's because of the curve on the edge of the phone and its transparency which makes it look wider than I think it actually is.
The screenprotector for the front wasn't available yet, but did get a protector for the lenses that seem pretty good, but was pretty hard to get the air in between out as it's stiff, also says it's glass so that explains that
I do wonder if it'll turn yellow after some time, it didn't say anything about that so I'm not expecting much
Thanks for the insight
Is this the charcoal color if I may ask? It looks a bit lighter in color than photos I've been seeing around 🤔
Yup it's the darker one
@@IkesTechTalk thank you for the reply!!!
Does this apply for the regular pixel 8 also😁
Lol I can't say for certain, only because I don't have it but pretty sure it does 😂
Is it a finger print magnet like the previous 7 Pro Google case?
Well keep it mind it's a different material. Last years was plastic, this year is silicone. I've always had silicone cases pick up like finger grease and stuff easier.
Thanks man, that's the reason why I miss those fabric Google cases so much. @@IkesTechTalk
Man I miss them too. Wish they would make all three. I like all that they have released but those fabric ones were my favorite
It's pretty much is, I would say. If you're still interested, I have a demo of that on my review of the same case. Cheers!
@@Jo5ue1 Peak Design has a fabric case for Pixel 8 and 8 pro in 5 colours
good for google that they improved grip for P8, 7 official cover is too slippery.
Yea I liked it overall, but like you said, it was quite slippery
It seems Google improved this year case compared to last year. Random question, does the 8pro case fits on 7pro? Thank you
I don't have my 7 Pro to test it. But I'm pretty sure they don't
It definitely does NOT fit
I do like the new pixel 8 offical cases. But what makes me excited is the Mous Super Thin Magnetic Case for Pixel 8 Pro. Are you planning on reviewing that?
I've been eyeing it, but the buttons turn me off, if they would've had actual buttons, I would preordered it, but just having the openings for the buttons is a no from me. I saw someone post some pics and it almost looksl ike you have to dig your finger in there to hit the buttons
@@IkesTechTalk I like the Open button imo. But digging you fingers into the case sounds like a no to me
@@IkesTechTalk Buttons are recessed but there is so much travel on the buttons themselves and the openings are big enough, it is still a simple clicky press imo.
Thanks for the confirmation. It didn't look that way when I saw it but I'll give it another look
after many months of used, is it more expand and loose?
Are the official google phone cases any good?😊
I mean video can tell you at least about this years 😂
Great review! I personally prefer the camera bar open. I think it looks better that way. I'm okay sacrificing a bit protection for the looks & feels 🙈
I have original transparent one. It's terrible since it made out of hard plastic and it's massive! Very thick. I bought some silicon one for 10 bucks and use that one instead.
Hi. Can u recommend a good screen protector for optical FPS?
Spigen align master is the one I'd go with personally
@@IkesTechTalk thanks.
No problem
How much does it weigh??
Honestly couldn't tell you man. I don't weigh them unfortunately. But it didn't feel like it added much of any extra weight. Hope this helps
Please reply.
Will this case fit Pixel 7 pro?
No, the 7 Pro and 8 Pro have different screen shapes, with the 7 Pro being a little more squared. I tried.
Thanks for answering that one for me
Nice ,
Thanks
Mine broke apart after 3 months use....long term it's not good. Do not recommend
Hey, Ike!
May I ask you to check the review I've made on this case? Wonder what you think.
Thanks for your video!
My main issue with this phone is that the speakers are unbalanced
Huh
@@lithomie5275 do you have one. Because when turned in landscape mode, the earpiece speakers are WAAYYY lower. The majority of the sounds is coming from the bottom. And you definitely notice
@@kevvy22go into settings. Accessibility, audio, then audio adjustment. You're welcome 😎
How's the drop protection?
Can't tell you for sure as I haven't dropped it. But it seems like it could take a drop for sure
Don't expect OtterBox type protection. The drop protection on this Google case and anyone like it, is minimum drop protection at best.
Spigen still has better cases.
In your opinion, Spigen has better cases. I've honestly not picked up a Spigen case in years. Maybe I'm burnt out and brought to many of them in the past
@@IkesTechTalk the only thing I don't love is their clear cases get yellow months later. But I think that's most clear cases..
Yup Dbrand supposedly has their ghost line which never yellows, that may be a good one to check out
