Hi! If you watched the video and read the description, you’ll find it! You want to join the group (not mine, I’m not plugging it) and look at the pinned posts. Thanks for watching!
What do you expect? He’s providing a service and know how to get it installed. You can very easily get the whole package yourself if you can source it, crack it, run it. I tried, I couldn’t get it to work, so I paid for help. No different than any other service! Remember this is software you wouldn’t have unless you’re a dealer 😉
Thanks for warning people to stay away from the actuation functions if they don't know what they're doing, I've seen a bunch of my customers get themselves into trouble by playing around with this! I wouldn't ever discourage someone from getting Xentry (or any code reader), but if you don't know how to interpret the fault and actually repair the car it'll just end up being more of a fun toy to play around with.
I love my S212 wagon but 2023 is going to cost a bit. A9 service, re-seat the injectors, stabilizer links, and the serpentine with the followers and water pump. I can do much of it but I like my guarantee from Mercedes and my courtesy car. Its not abnormal work. Its 150k mile renovations to keep it 'like new.' The A9 is the big one that flushes and changes all fluids, filters, the whole shmear. I bought it new in 2012 and its still new to me. Mercedes did the rear subframe on warranty last summer with all new arms and shocks on me while it was all free labor. OMG what a difference it made.
The USA IS FINALLY covered with the subframe as of like 2 days ago! We were hung out to dry before! My frame is ok, but def rusty and should be changed. Did you have yours done at a dealership? I did rear shocks but might be down to do the same if it works out! Awesome to hear!
@@mrapter7 I did it for my 2008 c200. it broke while testing arms with crowbar😅 They still charged me for 2 arms + 2 hours work for them. But subframe was free.
40% Ceramic on the front 10% ceramic all around. Ceramic gives you better color, darker tints that don’t fade over time nearly as much. Cuts out 90% of UV rays making it much, much cooler on the inside. 40% in front is just dark enough that you can’t really see me coming head on, but light enough where from the inside it looks completely normal day or night
@@mrapter7 I need more videos like this. Just got Xentry and looking for tactrix or c4 to hook it up. I haven’t tried to install Xentry yet. I need videos on that!
@todd8781 installing it is not something I did. I had it professionally installed by a friend in the group. Look at description. It’s challenging to get an Install working. Look on Yandex.com for potential sources tho. You can get the Openport 2.0. I have a $40 Chinese knockoff. Works great
Thanks for watching! Yes software works on Unimogs, industrial equipment and sprinters of course. Some types of vehicles and brands I didn’t even KNOW were under the MB umbrella. I believe this install I have is from 12/2018 so anything before that vehicle year wise yo should be good! There are newer installs but they’re harder to crack / license.
hi mrs luke its my first time watching your video says one year ago can you please tell me how and where I can get the full version of xentry and the hardware you advice for me with little details because I am really confused lots of advertising ect i hope that you can help yours truly
Hi, simply follow the link in the bio. You need to join the FB group for software install as a service, or find it online (I can’t link here obviously) and install yourself. It takes some know how to get it working which is why I opted for someone to do it for me. Hardware is easy to google, or on AliExpress. Openport 2.0
A newer version will, yes. This is dated 2018 so anything post this date will not communicate in the best way. That being said, idk if there is ANY difference in a 2018 metris vs a 23 so it may work just fine. By following and reading links in the description and following very simple instructions (😉) you can probably find it
Check the link in the description to join the w212 group, that’s where I found it. I have no affiliation to it other than I joined, love it and am frequently on it.
It’s a bargain when Benz charges $300 for the same diagnosis for an unknown problem. You’re paying for knowing how to install it - if you want to install it yourself you can find the files for free online if you know where to look. Try Yandex.com You might have better luck, I couldn’t get it to install.
$500 for a decent diag software kit is on the low end. Some high end generic scanners are $750+. You gotta know what you’re getting into and the capability of the software you’re getting.
The admin of the group (look in the description, read and follow link to Facebook group) I was talking about. Amir has helped me and so many others so many times. I tried installing myself but couldn’t get it working
I thought you needed a doip to run Mercedes software I have a r129 sl and the star or sds software is the only thing that read suspension codes so do I just this cheap adapter or a doip like the c4 and c5
For 90% of things including all diag, or even reading or writing codes, relearning and actuations, you can all do within Star with this adapter. Find a cheap aftermarket clone or go for the real deal. My cheap one has been great for 3 years
It has the capability yes, but you don’t have online access within this. It’s possible, but needs to be sourced elsewhere I believe. I personally haven’t had to do it, but Xentry is the correct software to do it
Anything the dealer can do, you can do! I’m not personally familiar with adapting new hardware myself, but can 100% be done within Xentry. There is an adaptation panel within each module that you can view. I tend to stay away from that specifically because I’m not trained on how to use it.
I was using xentry on my sprinter van and it does show transmission adaptation values. a bunch of different values for gear selections, and much more. You can also change the values, I bought the van used and I didnt like how it was shifting. I reset the adaptations and it feels much better.
There’s also a way to do this on most Mercedes involving a combo of throttle on, key position etc. I made a short about it here. Not sure if that works for sprinter but works for most passenger cars from. 2000 ish up
Please help, there is a bunch of different obd2 to usb adapters around that’s easier for me to get. Will a regular 16 pin obd2 to usb adapter work just like the Tactrix or is yours the only one that works? They all look the same to me and seems like they all do the same things, I’m kinda lost here. When you say in the video you think it really doesn’t matter which one, do you mean the version of the Tactrix or that it doesn’t matter which brand or adapter it is? I have a Mercedes e270 cdi 2002 (w211)
To my knowledge, you can get a knockoff like mine is. Plenty of people have issues or quality issues where they stop working, but two years in and it’s stil More than fine. The official port is like $160. Worth the money honestly, but at $40 it may be worth trying a knock off. It’s the j2354 protocol you need, a j2354 adapter should work. Take a look on AliExpress and search that protocol
@@mrapter7 Thank you man, it was the protocol I was wondering couldn’t find anyone else to answer this, really appreciate it! Just need to erase an SRS light, don’t care about the quality really😅
Same here! Try AliExpress, or google OpenPort 2.0. You can also try using Yandex.com to search as google censors a lot of results that you may need. Mine cost $40 shipped
Where does someone find the correct driver for the open port device? I bought an original Tactrix but their driver is just for Mits and Suburu…so it doesn’t work.
I’m really not sure I had it installed by Amir, the admin of the page I linked. I wish I had some more info but I tried it a million different ways and download 12 different versions of Xentry and Star and couldn’t get it to install properly. I just let him do it and it’s been working great. The driver he installs also works for Nissan, Subaru, dodge, Mazda and probably more but I have all the dealer software from them and it works fine
@@mrapter7 talking to him and getting a link might good. A lot of people (at least me) watch this for the Mercedes aspect. It was disappointing to find out the tactrix drivers didn’t support Mercedes. Tactrix was of no help, they basically said “oh well”
Unfortunately passthrew doesn't support all car protocols but it does however support 99% of staff average person need. So no loss there. Who even play with staff like SCN brakes etc
Yes not a perfect solution but for the daily mechanic and guys like us it’s more than enough! I wouldn’t run a shop on it but…you almost could. Plus, you can just buy the hardware if you wanted as well! The multiplexers can be found for $500 or so
I bought iCarsoft Pro in 2021, for my diesel E320, it cant look at my glowplugs, only shows 4 injectors, unable to service the braking system, cant turn on the radiator fan, and more issues
Yes, Xentry truly is the best. Some amazing info. The small cost to have an expert install it (infinite license) is well worth it if you can’t figure it out yourself
Xentry is the only option for most of these things. You can spend $300-400 on an aftermarket system, or get $150 of hardware and install Dealer Xentry software or have someone do it for you. Either way it’s a much better value
