I think we need to all give Ben and the other RUclipsrs, and regulars on scene a HUGE thanks not only for providing some top quality entertainment, but also the help offered to all the clowns that drive through. Wading in to rescue the driving instructor while the fireman watched on, and making sure he got out safely, the mechanical advice "You've stuffed the engine" and not least, towing out people time and time again.
Especially that driving instructor.. all criticism for his chosen profession aside, the poor dude was really distressed and the lady and gent really helped him out, especially the lady, who recognised he needed a literal helping hand 🖤

I’m surprised how many people don’t know that the air intake pipe for the engine is located next to the radiator grille and you can’t fill it with water, in Russia even children know this.
Thats ok because most civiled countries dont offer any situations like this. i am surprised that some just try do it when they dont even know what to do. Its still possible to turn around, nobody is forced.

Honestly i would turn around and find another way. At least it would seem suspicous to me when there are people around filming others driving through the water. I would ask them whats going on and try or turn around. I cant believe there are countries in europe still having a Ford, every car is leaking small amounts of oil it cant by good for the environment. Yes it ist stupid to go on moving without knowing what to do and what can happen. I know my car´s intercooler is mounted pretty low and would never even try. At least i know to handle a car full speed better than most other people on the planet, everybody has talents.

Modern cars have their air intakes at the bottom of the engine (I don't know why). It makes fording practically impossible as it sucks water straight into the engine.
I have never encountered any floods like this luckily but I value my car too much to even attempt driving through water, so I would do the same as you 😁
30+ years ago when I went through my driving lessons, I was told if I ever have to go through deep water, go slow but keep the revs high, essentially rev the balls off the car but keep the clutch up enough to keep moving slowly. Then my instructor told me if the engine were to cut out, it's too deep 🤣 Funny thing is, I've never cut out in deep water !. Watching these people is painful.
My dad always stressed upon me how to drive through water after I was forced into a deep puddle by a fire engine and flooded my car. Told me never to keep turning it over. Go really slow to begin with. Also stressed upon me how best to drive in snow and ice. I’ve passed many cars abandoned in these conditions with my fiesta. I’m a woman to…. 😂😂😂

@@goclunker No. Sealed does not mean totally sealed.. that would be impossible.. the seals keeps most grit and grime and water out during normal driving.. but driving through floods will breach the sealing... being submerged will breach soils.. the seals will help keep out water.. and grease will displace and help seal out water because it is thicker.. but water will still ingress.. I have no idea what you mean by leak, fill up and grenade...

Only the size changes.. and the materials may or may not be more premium (more money = better bearings). Bearing seals help to keep water and grit out. Also the high viscosity grease used to pack out bearings resists water ingresss.. but driving through flood water will cause some water ingress. Thank you for your lack of humility.
4-stroke petrol engines work on the Suck-Squeeze-Bang-Blow protocol. Its the _suck_ part that interests us here, the pistons' downward motion with intake valves open sucks air through the manifold into the engine to run it (mixed with petroleum vapours in the carburettor) Submerging your air intake underwater is not a good idea, the engine will suck water in the same as it does air. You're drowning your engine! a.k.a hydralocking it. Its an expensive put-right after you've putwronged it!
