Skyway was a great way to get across Disneyland during a parade. It was always cool to look down on the Main Street Electrical Parade!

I miss the Skyway. Some of my earliest & fondest memories of Disneyland was riding the Skyway. I really wish they’d bring it back. Doesn’t necessarily have to be in the same exact spot because I know one of the reasons it was removed was because of the damage it caused the Matterhorn over time, but put it in a different spot. Imagine how could it would be if a new Skyway was built connected between Disneyland and CA Adventure

My dad grew up in Orange County, and when he was a kid, he once got kicked out of Disneyland for spitting on people from the Skyway.

Both models of Skyway gondola appear in Harold's stash, actually. You point out the round "classic" model on the right, but there's also one of the boxier ones that started being used in 1965 on the left.

The Skyway and the People’s Movers were two of my favorite rides especially at night when the entire park was lit up and you can hear the band in Tomorrowland playing the latest hits. Those were the good old days of my cherished memories of Disneyland.

“The Skyway system not the whole company” the modern day Disney would probably go for the whole company. I like the new Skyway buckets by Bob Gurr as well. He’s a legend, an integral part of Disney park magic

I rode it in the early 90s. All of the various "warp zones" dl used to have was one of the things I looked forward to. I got really bummed when they closed this ride, going through the matterhorn made the transition from Fantasy land to Tomorrowland really kind of awesome.

The skyway was not only a lovely escape from a busy Park but easily one of the most efficient ways to cross the parade route before “crossovers” were a thing.

The intro is one of the best. The quick change of pace when the monorail went by was brilliant. Kudos

I rode that many times before it closed. Those trips were in the 1980's in the square buckets. It was a nice, pleasant elevated trip above he crowds and offered great photo angles. I can't say I really miss it now that it's gone though. I was away from 1990 until 2006 so a lot changed during that break. I would like to see them bring back the PeopleMover, but we know that's not going to happen either. Since both the People Mover and the Skyway were always in motion, those were good attractions that people could just "get on quickly" and enjoy a few minutes of relaxation.

I love both of these videos, the original and remake! That vintage offhand disney feel featuring MS paint is sill endearing <3

My family was visiting Disneyland when the Skyway closed. We all rode it one day, went to the hotel that night, and the next morning, there was no trace that it even existed. My parents had no idea that when we rode it the day before, we would have been some of the last. My mom said it was really weird. I would have been about 3, so I don’t remember it except for in photos, but my parents have told me this story several times over the years. It’s always been a fun tidbit for me to share whenever this subject comes up, and I am always amazed at how quickly Disneyland can change overnight.

Rode the Disneyland Skyway many times. It was a nice reprieve from the walking to get to the other side of the park quickly, while obtaining a bird's eye view of Disneyland overall. At night, the echo inside the Matterhorn was so eerily cool and I miss the Skyway buckets to this day.
