I had my battery die at Mount Rushmore while I was in Sturgis. Weird because I already made the loop, stopped at all the major stops to take pics and enjoy the scenery, and Mount Rushmore was the last stop. Had to pop the clutch and run to Rapid City to get another battery. It was a great day.
Back in the beginning of the 20th century, (1900's) , zero did not exist!! 0 was called OUGHT. Steel wool was developed so long ago it was graded as OUGHT ( one 0) coursest, up to 4 ought (4, 0's) as the finest!! How's that for some useless learning for the day??
All and all the build is wicked. I agree the king pack is the most usable, and fits full face helmets, which chopped and razor not so much. But the chopped is still my fav as it gives looks and storage. Keep the videos rolling hommie.
Hell yeah! If your going to have one, have a big one! Sometimes you just need the tip... of the space. But it's always nice to go deep. Talking about trunks.
You are so right. I put my Advanblack chopped tourpak together on the ground. Tried using a box to support it while I put the bolts in. That sucked!!! Plus my helper, 13 month old rescue dog, is a horrible assistant.
KeyFob story.. came up upon a group of Harley riders at a gas station and one of their buddies bike wouldn't start because his fob battery died and he didn't know his pin to over ride security. The gas station didn't have any 2032 batteries. These were seasoned riders and I blew their minds when I told them to start one of their bikes then pull out the fob battery and hand it to their buddy to start his bike. They topped off my tank.
Good idea. I thought you were going to say that your fob started his bike. I once had a situation where a buddy of mine’s bikes fob would cancel mine out and neither of our bikes would start if they were near each other. We both were BACA patches and had to keep our bikes far apart.
The King pak IS the best size if you want somewhere to put the helmet, jacket, etc... at least for me. I don't have speaker pods so I mounted a chopped pad on mine. Since my SO doesn't ride on the Street Glide I didn't need to put the King backrest on it and I agree that the King pak without speaker pods but with the King backrest looks terrible. I usually leave the Low Profile Solo on mine even if I have the tour pak on it.
Just a thought.....What about a garage tidy/set up/reorganisation vid with shelving/work station/cupboards? Bet some of the suppliers would love to help! Just imagine what you will find squirrelled away in there over the last 20 years!
I noticed that you have a seat that is narrow in front and have the tank shell. When I had a Saddlemen road sofa with the narrow front, the tips of the tank shell was poking my inner thighs. So I put a stock seat back on and it is much better. Maybe you could let them know at Advanblack that that shell would be much better if the tail of it was 1" narrower on each side. It would still look great and be suitable for a wider range of seats. Just saying.
I agree with you. The bikes look better without a Tour pack, so if you're going to put one on you might as well put one on big enough to put something in.👍
ohhh Pro Monk, when you are ready to change the body of the CVO... I will travel to FL to buy that red inferno body, and I prefer the chopped pack. That's what I have on my RGS. I've been told by some "friends" the king pack will hold 2 cases of adult brew and a large pizza. You pegged it on the smaller packs, extra clothes and small cooler. I can fit my 1/2 helmet in the chopped but not the razor (hubby has razor). Keep up the good work, it is my comic relief from my otherwise hectic day. Ride safe
Say keyfob 1 more time...... lol. Some days suck like that. Thank you for sharing. The struggles help others feel better more level.... or just me. Again, thank you.
I bought a jump starter at Black Hills H.D. five years ago for $150. Its been the best money ive ever spent. Itis stong enough to start my Cummings Deilsel at -20 in Alaska. Its the size of a cell phone only twice as thick. It rides eith me always.
Both bikes look good. I haven’t heard good things about lithium batteries. My buddy is the GM at a dealer and said all they do is warranty them over and over. And the king is the way to go I’m still kicking myself for getting the chopped
I didn’t expect anything less Harley has been making a beer budget motorcycle and has been charging champagne taste prices for years they know that men love shiny new things.
unless you're bringing home 1 medium pizza and nothing else...or you only "travel" from one end of the bike show to the other... King is the only tour pack size that makes sense.
I completely agree with your stance in Tourpacks. Coming from the clamshell bags that my FLSB had to now having hard bags on it, it might not be as big of a deal, but when traveling the ability to load more crap was a lifesaver. And I think it looks really good as what I’m calling a Sport Glide Ultra
Too funny, my battery died on me this weekend too at a 7-11! Was riding home to Tampa from SoFL and after stopping for gas in Punta Gorda the bike refused to start or jump start. Was lucky enough that Bert's Black Widow HD was open and they brought me a battery.
I can NOT understand, with your luck, WHY you haven't hit the lottery several times! The switch of the tips, the mixing of the chrome and the black looks great. I did the same on my bike, mostly chrome, but with some black parts mixed in, two tone red like the new bike
@@Mrsmonkey5151 absolutely! And I’m a huge Cincinnati Bengals fan so this body kit is right up my alley. Would never be able to afford it just straight out. Keep me in mind please!
Steel wool does work great for the rust and pitting but itll work alot better if you use a dab of WD-40 or PB Blaster. Thats what we used in the Army to polish the plumbing in the Latrines in Basic.
The old man had me doing his chrome spoke wheels with the Bulldog Brand fine steel wool when I was 10 to earn $$ for a bicycle, steel wool is awesome stuff, been in my tool chest for decades.
Love your channel brother. You and your wife are great. I am NOT a Harley guy but one of my riding buddies is offering me a great deal on his 2022 Road Glide Special and I'm pretty sure I'm going to do it. Gorgeous bike. Thanks for the entertainment and knowledge. You have taught me a lot.
Have you talked about those Ray Bans yet? I have been looking at getting a pair. Inquiring minds would like your thoughts, impressions, possible review from using while riding.....
@@ProfessionalMonkey cool thanks. Just don't tell the wife. Since I have been watching you, and some others, I have gone from 1 bike to 3.5 bikes🤷🏼♂️. You're just a bad influence on my wallet. 👊🏻
When I put a tour pack on mine, I decided if I was messing with the lines I would put a king on. Just make it look a dorky as possible. But I could haul shit.
I like the comments that said to add some wax or polish. I wouldn't want to spread around the contaminants. WD-40 and 0000 the cheapest aluminum foil you can find. Brake clean then wax.
I had to take my road glide limited in for tires the other day. Wouldn't start. Replaced the battery it did start up. Couple of days later, same thing. Turns out i needed a new starter.
I have used the 0000 steel wool on chrome too which works good, I have also had really good luck with the blue magic polishing cream. I have the chopped tour pack. I would like to put a back rest on it like you have on your king. Do you know, will that fit on the chopped pack?
With steel wool sometimes being stored in a junk drawer? Make sure to never throw your 9v batteries in the same drawer! Sooner or later that 9 volt will find its way to the steel wool and Bam! You got yourself a nice fire! Just saying
It really depends on your preference. Some shorty hard bags would look nice. And they’re more practical. I have hard bags on my heritage if it tells you anything.
Iv'e had a Noco for a while. How much is a Li Ion Bosch battery for that bike? NAPA has them for $205 employee price. What vendor on Amazon do you recommend for 0000 steel wool?

When I use the 4 ott steelwool... I put a little metal polish on it so... CLEAN AND POLISHED IN 1 STEP
JUST THE TIP 😊
Flitz or semi chrome

Nice Seat .
I use aluminium kitchen foil and water to remove rust from chrome too. Works a treat. 👍
I think the touch of chrome on the exhaust and the docking station sets of the rear end of that thing.

ad a little Naval jelly to your 0000 steel wool ........shine up NICE
Agree 100%. I have been trying to trade my chopped for a king for years. 😅

I'm just scared of lithium batteries. I live in Kansas and the cold usually takes one drill battery a year.
I get it. It never gets cold here so not really a thing, ya know?
I've had my lithium in my bike for a few years in Colorado and charged it once in a blue moon. Still works like a charm

You didn't show the back of brackets where the rust was 🤔🤭
It was on both sides.
The wrap pad does fit on a chopped I did it to mine.

Hi from Muskoka Ontario Canada. Love your vids ! Really fun and informative. Great stuff!
Use a wood dowel of the proper size works much better than a screwdriver

Run a different bag lid with a bra/cover over them. You at least won’t look like you’re begging for change that way. lol. Looking good btw.

4 years on a battery is doing good.
These days it is. Remember when they used to last!?
That’s why you should of stayed with the shovelhead. I get it though, not too many slow lane riders left.
Relay nice paint job
Is Advanblack coming out with anything for sportster or soft tail standards and if so what years.
I don't know to be honest. The softail standard you can put their ST fairing on I know that.
Regular saddlebag tops wont fit temporarily?
What happened to the old school road glide?
She’s in the Rv temporarily 😊while we work on the chopper. Need the space.
Very informative videos

The red one has kind of a Darth Maul vibe to it.
I don't trust Li batteries. Too many fires. I like the old standard.
dumb question ? how do you like the screw on saddlebag mounts, been looking at those to replace the stock pins on my bags ?
