    Hello, what oil are you driving the engine, gearbox, differential? Thank you for the great information from a GR Yaris driver from Germany.👍👍👨‍🔧😁

    • @GTRGTRGTR
      @GTRGTRGTR  3 года назад +3

      Thank you very much.
      The first engine oil is 0W-20 specified by Toyota.
      After running on the circuit, I felt that the engine noise became louder, and next was Motul 5W-30, which happened to be lined up at the store.
      However, the restartability of the idling stop was bad.
      The next one I put in was the GT-R designated NISMO 5W-40. The contents are motul, but the restartability has improved.
      The mission, transfer, and rear differential oil are three types specified by Toyota.
      All the specified types are different.
      The transmission is LV API GL-4 SAE 75W,
      transfer LT API GL-5 SAE 75W-85,
      The rear differential is LX API GL-5 SAE 75E-85.

      Yes the oil capacity is extremely small. 500cc?
      Certainly, if break it, it will be expensive, so have to replace it frequently.

  • @lukapogo
    @lukapogo 2 года назад +1

    Hey! Thanks for the informative video!
    After owning the car for a while, do you feel the intervals after which you’d have to replace the diff oils got longer?
    3000km seems an awfully short interval to change oils everytime :D

    • @GTRGTRGTR
      @GTRGTRGTR  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for visiting and writing.
      The rear differential oil seems to be used as the oil for the multi-plate clutch center differential on the rear, and it deteriorates very quickly.
      When I saw the oil that was changed after the running-in, it looked like mud.
      I haven't changed it from there yet, but is the rear differential oil shared with the center differential that is always slipping, It may be necessary to replace it as soon as possible. It depends on how to drive. If drive diligently on a circuit, it may be better to go early. I would like to decide the interval while checking the condition of the drained oil.
      Next time, I will check at 3000km and if the condition is bad, it may be at that pace.

      @GTRGTRGTR  3 года назад +2

      Thank you very much !
      It seems that the rear differential oil is shared with the center differential oil (transfer).
      The transfer has a very severe oil deterioration because transfer's multi-plate clutch is always slipping. I will exchange it frequently. I would like to decide the next timing depending on the color and appearance of the oil in the next change.

      I put LX in the rear differential.

      It says GF-6 seems important.
      Some Toyota GR oils are 0W-40 but can be used for 0W-30 designated engines.

But then again looking at BRZ / 86, A90 Supra/Z4 It's obvious that Manufacturer don't see the return of investment given that shared platform is the only way to cut cost? I believe that the new Z will bring more spot light to the brand as a lot of fans all around the world love Fairlady Z . Love the retro/modern styling brings back the 70's and 90's element. It's a long overdue re-fresh and because of that hopefully it will be feasible to "not lose money" for Nissan and I really hope it will be a success. Next year with DTM Changing rules (GT3 race car based ) No longer "Touring car" I worry about Super GT series as they adopt a lot of DTM regulation (Chassis) before now got no where with join international racing. What's going to happen in Super GT? Back to manufacturer designed chassis again? I believe that's how you get the engineering team to explore and be more creative with their own know how. @@thunderboltcalgary1559 I think that Japan has become less competitive than it was in the 1990s. It doesn't have the power to release sports cars in rapid succession.
      It tends to not survive unless maker merges globally and standardizes parts, so it may not be a problem only in Japan.
      You can see that most of the many sports car makers in Europe have given up on their own.
      Nissan seems to be working hard to develop a new control four-wheel drive system for EVs.And making Z cheaply with limited resources and raising the image.
      Generally, when a maker be in trouble with management, they tend to make desperate and interesting cars, so now Nissa is at that time, and although the parts are old, we may expect Z.
      Race performances are almost dead in Japan. Only Super GT remains.
      The engineer who made the R35 is from Group C, but he has retired, and the biggest concern is that there is no engineer with experience in designing race machines in Nissan today.
      I hope to NISSAN to make some kind of racing car.
      I think TOYOTA may be trying to clear the regulation of 25,000 units in total including normal Yaris in the first place.
      I think the biggest reason for the failure was that it was politically blocked.
      In the first place, I think it is impossible to make the prescribed 25,000 units at the current handmade production facility. TOYOTA may have made a mistake from the beginning.
