Delighted to know this method of cleaning copper, thank you !! I know this is a stretch, and I’m ready for the big laughs, could a heavy rubber mallet work with the embossing plates !! These are so very gorgeous, any of you resourceful crafters have any tips that would achieve a similar result, just can’t afford the machine !
I am 100 percent all for improvising and being thrifty but I also have to say, it is so important to have the right tool for the job. That being said, I think you should go for it and give it a try (you may need to use some painter's tape or masking tape to hold things down while you work) and certainly let us know how it goes...but just keep in mind that your results may be quite different than what I achieved using the machine, which applies HUNDREDS of pounds of pressure, and evenly. This also may be tough with heavier gauge metals. You may easily do it with the thin copper, but with the 30 gauge (which is what I made the Luna moth from) you may have trouble.
Love this! I have a ton of embossing folders but no machine & wondering if running it through a pasta machine might work? I’ve used this technique with foil but not the copper sheets.
Hello, Check out this type, they may be what you are looking for: amzn.to/3eLnWra or amzn.to/3QCcWcy ...or your metal may need to be thinner. It may take some experimenting. Good luck!
Hi I bought mine a while ago and could not find the exact ones that I have to point you to, I did link an 8" pair in the description, those may be more of what you are looking for!
Not exactly what I had in mind. I realized I have a whole bunch of very fine copper wire with nothing to do with it. So I has hoping to emboss it onto some steel, or some other metal. I have some 2in wide steel discs that would make great practice. I just need to figure out exactly what to do besides just smooshing the copper into the steel. That part is a given. I just need to figure out the how of it. I have a set of dental picks that I was thinking would work well. Or failing thay, I have soap/wax carving tools that could probably do the same.

Hi Karen, I don't know the answer to that but you could experiment and let us know! Make sure your metal isn't too thick.
Thank you for your response. I will let you know what I discover
Very cool! Have you tried embossing letters onto metal? I was thinking about doing that for a project I have.
I have with the letter stamps that you use with a hammer, but you have to use those on heavier/thicker metal
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️

@@LauraBethLove Bonjour Laura Beth, merci beaucoup de m'avoir répondu 🌸😊
Bonne continuation et encore bravo pour vos créations, c'est magnifique !!
Hi. Can you tell me what is the thickness of the copper? I'm not sure what 30 gauge is in mm?
Hi, sure I believe 30 gauge copper sheet is equal to .25 mm (1/4 mm)
The tin snips you have linked don't look like the ones you are using, they are much bigger. Do you have a link to the ones you use?
