  • The difference between a completely stock X3 max and a Fox racing suspension adjustment, the ride is like night and Day especially on the jumps and whoops.

You using the fox tune measurement .
For the max you have a specific tune with a different measurements.

These measurements are for the two-door x3 the 4 door max are a bit different especially on the rear preload rather than 6 inches it’s 2 1/4 I know made same mistake lol.

The more you raise it more changes you flip it good just for floor clearance but it all depend how you use your can am.I think its all about how fast you shock compress.

I just got the same machine but the turbo r which is the same suspension. I did this fox tune and the front looks good but the back seems to be much to high and the rear wheels look to narrow now(narrower than the front .) I was worried the machine would be more tippy. Have you kept your machine this way or did you change the suspension. Also how did it handle like this?

I have kept it the same, it does seem narrower in the back but on the jumps it absorbs more of the impact, plus most of the time I have riders in the back so it helps with keeping the rear not too high. It actually handles really good compared to how it was, I don't bottom out anymore.

hi man i did the fox racing tuning on my 72" with the qs3 and initially i was very happy on how my car was eating the whoops but the benefit is only in that men in the whoops any other place the car feels like it wants go tip over not very confident inspiring, it helps if your going rock crawling but where i ride most of the trails or 95% is dessert and the average speed is around 45 to 60 mph this set up made my car feel good on the high speed jumps but it wanted to tip over more easily thankfully i know when my car wants to tip over when racing it, for me my best set up is my own set up sadly the qs3 only has rebound adjustment so i work with what i have those shocks on the ds model are really a step up.

I spoke to Fox regarding this. It's not needed on 2021+ models and causes the spring to take an early set. And you shouldn't be using a spring compressor. You back off the nut/jam-nut and you can spin the spring by hand. You're making this way harder on yourself.

The reason I did it its because of the ground clearance, I gained about 2 inches, also I noticed I wasn't bottoming out anymore when the shocks set to soft, I tried loosening the jam but and wasn't able to spin it by hand, I ended up using a small ratchet strap just to compress the spring slightly to allow me to spin it by hand.

I don’t think those tune settings are for 2021d

They are not. Fox even says that this time isn't ideal for the new 2021 shocks. It will fuck up the spring.. wear it out faster.
