This video is more expressing each component and its function . Someone can have the same tune on shocks and the riding will not suit a certain driver . I personally did the fox tune and kept testing for a finer tune , I moved the clicks in increments of 1/2 turns till I got the ride I wanted . Test an tune is the name of the game
as a dealer its pretty annoying that your instructions dont include settings for an xrs max. for an xrs in the rear fox says installed spring length should be 31" but the entire spring uninstalled is only 29"??? and at 29" the ride heightis barely 14" which feels really akward when the front is at 15.5" this is pretty frustrating
Fox - is this setup sufficient for both Dune / Whoop riding as well as aggressive trail riding? Or does this setup work better in one scenario over the other? Thanks!
Aaron Shea this set up is the race set up so it will make it handle woods well and anything you could imagine on a race track after these adjustments I still adjusted to make it more comfortable for the riding style
i would set the springs like he says to get proper ride height then use compression adjusters for what ride/race purpose or comfort you desire, Unless i missed it, he didn't mention that with increased spring tension, it will want to rebound harder so rebound damping should be stiffened a little
I have the 2020 Maverick X3 Max RS turbo RR it seems as though the 2020 model sits higher than the same model in the 2019 version? Are the shocks or suspension components in different or is it just a different set it from Factory? ...Also can you include a link as to where I can find the correct Fox tune settings for my 2020 model Maverick X3 Max? Thanks

On my 2017 X3 XDS, adjusting the rear crossover at 6" sits the rear fully on the main spring at rest. Is this normal? It seems to be very harsh on small bumps compared to the stock setting which had space between the main spring and crossover at resting height.
So on an X RS RR smart shox car on 32" tires, ground clearance should end up at 17.5 inches? If you've added weight like a spare and roll cage, what adjustments should be made?
Hey! So am I understanding that the units come lowered to fit freight, and then THIS tune should be performed to bring the vehicle to proper height? or is this a performance tune.
I know this is old but,the vehicles are shipped set to a comfort setting. They are lowered for freight with ratchet straps to compress the suspension. They just cut the straps and the vehicle springs to it's regular ride height. ruclips.net/video/R5kMnLRBOhA/видео.htmlm31s
Does the 2021 Can Am Maverick X3 XRC TURBO RR have the same shocks as the 2021 Can Am Maverick XRS Turbo RR so the settings will be the same for the shocks on the 2021 CAN AM Maverick
so I have the 18xrs and am looking for a softer ride, buddy has the razor 1000 and his is better for now.. I lengthened the springs a inch and softened dampening this week. much better but lost some ride height, still not as good thou as his... how much can I soften it till to much.. is there a tire pressure that is too low as well. down to 16lbs now on the 30s.. we ride mountain trails and ditch banging, little jumping as well.. thanks all for the help, great video
i have a 18 xrs as well. in the mountains i open up the hsc and lsc completely and drop the air to 10 psi all the way around. it really helps to air down.
Alex I'm going to go with your rebound adjustment, as your rear hits compression second, I'm going to say your rebound is to quick so the shock isn't doing it's job of controlling the spring back
Most seemed very informative, but I tried using the setup charts shown for the x3 rs and it says 31" spring length in rear?.... I would have to stretch it like 4" to make that happen?
Joshua Anthony it's just a copy of the rzr and has the front end copied from the yxz. CanAm finally got smart and used most of the designs that came from Polaris.
You're right that Can Am learned what they know from Polaris. Then they took everything a step further. And made it better. Polaris has been peddling the same thing for years without innovating. They are the Apple of the UTV world. You can only be the leader, while doing nothing to keep yourself there for so long. The Can Am has more HP, bigger brakes, bigger tires, longer suspension travel, better shocks, more ground clearance, beefier suspension etc than anything Polaris has ever offered.
I'm certainly not saying it's a bad machine, and you are absolutely right. Now Polaris will be forced to come out with something completely new, just like they did when they went from the XP 900 to the 1000. Polaris has been making these leaps from the beginning, but eventually these guys are gonna hit a wall and become overpriced.
You're absolutely right. Can Am effectively is forcing Polaris' hand with this new machine. This is the first time Polaris has really been challenged. I don't doubt they've been working on something. Not the same old platform. But a ground up redesign. The way Polaris likes their profit margin, it will be every bit of 30k.
Does this apply to the 2018 model as well? Also with the dampening and rebound it says " all adjuster positions are measured from the fully closed (clockwise) position. So I went fully closed clockwise and did the amount of turns/clicks that you guys provided but in the direction counter clock wise. But in your video it says clockwise = stiffer counter clock wise = comfort. So did I just make everything less stiffer, is that the goal of this tune?

good explanation of the different adjustments available
This made a huge difference once we adjusted the suspension
I did this tune on my RC and it was awesome, with a few small adjustments, just know the toll they give you is no good. I ride the Dunes mostly
What about setting for the Max X-RS?
I love this video so much, short and distinct
Great video! Thank you Fox!
What about the max how do I set up the suspension on the four seater

Full Throttle Off Road hey full throttle! I'm looking for answers also.

Did you ever find out? I can't seem to find anything for the 2020
Good info. Bookmarked and thumbs up.
I don’t know why I watched this. I don’t own one and I have work todo!
because dreaming at work is cool lol
Hahaa

I notice that today on my 2021 xds, wonder what setting you ended,im gonna try at 5".
Would this adjustment work on the new 2020 maverick x3 max RR?

Does the 2021 Can Am Maverick X3 XRC TURBO RR have the same shocks as the 2021 Can Am Maverick XRS Turbo RR so the settings will be the same for the shocks on the 2021 CAN AM Maverick
Why does it say on the setup sheet that the vehicle needs to be off the ground to measure ride height?
Lot of help but when you say better ride less damping so it less clockwise or counter .?. Big jumps in or out? Thx
just gonna send it.
For the rear shocks do we measure the full length above the tender spring or below the tender spring on top of the bigger spring?
Whats the best suspension adjustment if I jump frequently?

I run my tires for mountains at 11psi, Dunes at 8psi. May help a bit. 16 psi would still seem pretty hard to me.
Definitely lower your air pressure. Try 10psi
Do you have an update for the 2020 or 2021?
Would this work on a 2021 RR 4 seater
Do the XRS rear settings apply to the XRS MAX 4 seater since the max has 2in less travel in the rear? If so where can I find your suggested settings.
Craig Tully I love how they don’t fing answer.
Is the cross over ring adjustment what would cause an immediate nose dive or forward buck over a small jump
Alex I'm going to go with your rebound adjustment, as your rear hits compression second, I'm going to say your rebound is to quick so the shock isn't doing it's job of controlling the spring back
You did not say on rebound when you lighten it is that faster or slower .. clockwise or what
Most seemed very informative, but I tried using the setup charts shown for the x3 rs and it says 31" spring length in rear?.... I would have to stretch it like 4" to make that happen?
andrewk157. I agree. My measured spring length is about 28 1/2".
Nick P I have the base turbo r x3. This set up did not work at all. And he says it will set my ass end do get in the air. Looked gay.
How on earth does a machine look homosexual?
It makes the owner look homosexual@@jmac6248
How about adjustments for the can am 850 xxc.
Have you done this for the 2017 Polaris RZR Turbo?
Probably not since it's a turd compared to the X RS.
Joshua Anthony it's just a copy of the rzr and has the front end copied from the yxz. CanAm finally got smart and used most of the designs that came from Polaris.

What about for the rear of the Max 4 seater?
Please spell out where EXACTLY on the car where the front and rear ride heights are measured at.

If it has it on the 2017 that I will on the 2018 model
well, i'm just wondering since the 2018 model has more travel.
Where have you seen the 18 model has more travel? All models from 17 to 18 have the same travel from everything I have seen.
But no info on the XRC RR.
It needs to be set up stiffer for dunes like Glamis. My opinion...
I have the X.3 base model I did this and it put me up at 20 inches what did I do wrong
Whyyyyyy wouldn’t you want the considerable weight of the normal driver in the seat while setting preload/static sag?
But the way my understanding comes from limited knowledge of sport bike suspension set up. Maybe it’s different with four wheels
I did this to my 17 base x3. It set so bad. Ass end way up in the air what I do wrong.
Worst thing I did to my Maverick was following this, I went back to stock
I did this now my suspension is really noisy
Hahaha😂😂😂
Damn the X3RS is nicer than my XPT.
Just wish it didn't have that Visco loc.
You can get a halo locker for the front diff and it completely solves the visco lock issue
How many people need a full time locked front end? Not like you're rock crawling every day. Visco works fine in the mud.
No Need to worry about that now with the new X3 XRC has the locking diff option. Along with some really cool setting with the 4 wheel drive system
Those are manual lockers.
The Polaris auto locker has its advantages.
The X3 new Smart Loc is also an automatic locker.
Is the xds and
I bought a stage 3 upgrade for my 17 XPT. $1600....No instructions or response to phone calls or emails. Fox customer service is very poor.
I did this on my x3 turbo r std and rolled it first time out on a turn...narrowed my ride just to much for me
Bad info
Those shocks cost more than my car
