There are many strings attached with buying and it's not always the best option for everyone.

Nice to see it finally finished. I applaud the ambition in doing something LA hasn't necessarily been known for but it's nearly ten times too expensive given the misses: no private elevator, strange fold down ladders, and a weird, not-so-subtle bar in the middle of the master bedroom. It'll get used for private events and filming but I'm not sure it will rent it at that price. Especially since you'd have to furnish it and that's a serious challenge to do it in a way that won't look weird. Probably why they really didn't stage it. Furniture just doesn't fill 23 foot high spaces.

It's undoubtedly a beautiful home, and tbh, probably fairly priced for rental. I think some of the ladders are a bit unnecessary, ladders probably only belong in a library or going to an attic, not in the kitchen etc. But it's a unique and pretty massive home, huge ceilings that probably add to a massive home, and generally a pretty great place to camp out whilst my dream home is built! :)

I know I'm in the minority but I just don't get all these ostentatious properties. They are obviously to show off how much money you have. No one needs that much space. I would never want to live in any of the properties Eric shows. I find the all the modern stuff cold. Like, we get it, you have money. Nope, give me a couple acres on a mountainside in a home with warmth and character. I don't need to show how much money I have. I can't think of one of the properties he has shown that I would actually want to live in. Bigger is not better in these cases...Erik i know you keep saying, "You too can have this if you work hard enough..." But who wants to work themselves to death just to buy some massive house you can show off and pay thousands of dollars in rent every month. Don't get it. Like are we supposed to be impressed by these homes? I find myself watching this channel less and less. I liked the old NY vlogs that were down to earth and personal. Sorry Erik!

I and my fellow tenants whose rooms face 8th Street were each paid $50 to vacate the place for four hours one night during filming of Dark Knight Rises. The real name of films are not used, it was nicknamed "Magnus Rex." The Batmobile was repeatedly flown down the street hanging from a helicopter. When the scene was done, it was parked in an empty lot now filled by that new 50-story building.
