I've had problems with Roli. I have a £700 Seaboard Rise 25 which no longer connects through Bluetooth MiDi, and also another Midi block keyboard which has the same problem. Roli did fix the Seabaord so I could use USB, but it's no good unless I get a really long USB lead. I am disappointed that both items went wrong after such a short time. I hope the Lumi keyboards are better made, and they should have some sort of extended guarantee available, especially for the higher priced items
If it's pricy for you - do not buy it. Simple as that.
Buy a cheap keyboard and be happy. Nobody complaining about cost of Ferrari or Maserati. Buy cheap and no problem....
Quality of the keyboard is very nice, and looks much better in real life than on video. Very bright and vivid colors, and material of the keys is nice as well. It is MIDI controller, *including wireless MIDI.* You can connect 2 or more keyboards (it is like blocks)... Roli Studio edition include software if you buy from Roli website. Lessons are optional, 80 bucks is extended version with more lessons and songs, but plenty included in free version of the app.
....nobody force you to buy it (all that crying about price). You can wait for promo discount on holidays etc.
With all that buzz, take a look at the price of the "haken audio slim continuum s70l6x" or Linnstrument.
That's an egregious ongoing price. As others have mentioned it would make more sense just to get online lessons from a pro.
It does come with a number of lessons and songs included for the price of the keyboard. For the $30 extra you pay for the Lumi Complete subscription, it's not bad at all for the value (at least in this first year promotional deal). But the team would certainly need to keep adding more and more courses to make it worth it for a second year's subscription to someone who uses it a lot. You're paying for all the programming here for the lessons.
It’s fuckin cheap, actually
Bridget Carey if you consider that it’s a midi controller and not just a toy, it’s actually inexpensive
where is the springboard game? I have installed and updated the LUMI app, but i've searched inside it and I can't find it
Great video and great review.
What's the name of song in this video's intro?
Isn’t the treble clef usually associated with the right hand?
yup
That would be awesome if it was a full size keyboard
Yah. And midi capable.
@@notofinterest Hi Christian, LUMI is MIDI capable!
@@LUMIKeys really? Must have overheard it... tnk you lumi!
It is MIDI compatible. And you can connect two or more to make full size keyboard. It will be kind of expensive, but you can make it big.
Christian Fuchs it IS midi capable
at 6:32, you said "the lesson goes over treble clef, which is the left hand." I think you meant to say right hand.
What's the first music name??
I started a long time ago the course from Pianote. Then I did start using Simply Piano. Now I own the LUMI. It's my second keyboard. I am just not satisfied with it. Only because I need to search for everything. Like how to connect my Bluetooth earphones, how to charge it, how much time does it take, when I need to charge it. I find that I own the product, but I need to deal with it. The manual is too thin. At least there is a lot of information on the web also on RUclips. Because I don't know exactly what I would do.
And where is the noise app
WOW. Those childhood photos!!! 😂😂😂
How do I find where to buy that tiny gameboy? Lol
Hey im your 3 mill sub
I liked the iPad case. Where did you get it?
The iPad Mini case is made by Tech21, ordered it from Apple. It's been a good kid-safe case!
Thanks
Rocksmith 2014!
(Treble Clef is the right hand!)
Simply Piano on IOS / IPADOS is really good too
Nah it’s trash compared to this, I’ve used both!
I started with the course of Pianote. Then I did use Simply Piano. Now I own the LUMI. I think that all of them complete each other. Sometimes I do Pianote, Simply Piano or LUMI.
Cool
This would follow the phase where I get how to play piano with my iPhone.
Pretty good for millennials, young families and older people to have fun and stay healthy
A secondhand keyboard and "simply piano" would give more bang for the buck
Hai 11th comment, love this vid and I dunno how to play the piano
Hello Ma'am/Sir... Also wanna learn this Roli seaboard/Lumi keys but that's not available on stores in INDIA 🇮🇳 👑 and I am not able to buy this financially, could you please send me that 🙃 it will be very helpful for me. ❤️
Kinda lost me at the price.
It’s a MIDI controller... it’s inexpensive compared to 95% of controllers on the market
Same
I learned to play guitar with guitar gero

I play Rocksmith for guitar and bass and yousocian.
Lumi?

Congrats first comment
A better model would have been giving consumers a choice between DLC content training packs or subscription model giving access to all content. Especially if end users are asked to front $300 for the hardware. It's a learner keyboard, not a condo.
Popupiano??
Oof, $299 plus $80. My causal idea of learning to play the patio was brief when I heard that price.
A paino is $10k+
@@loudane9962 and you can get a beginners keyboard for $120.
My friend’s 8 year old daughter was playing things that would take 2+ years to learn with traditional piano lessons. Getting for my daughter’s fourth birthday. This really is a miracle maker for kids learning to play.

@@danhall141 Wrong. Actual witness.
@@brianswitzer how far has she reached now? :D
I’d rather just go buy a switch with that price
honestly its midi
Yeah... For that price just get a better keyboard and free online lessons :P Nice idea but wrong price.
I see this as more for the fun of kinda playing a game
It’s a music production tool...
@@loudane9962 Not really.. More a toy.
A "music production tool" I have here at home. Proffesional keys midi and USB keyboard. And it still was cheaper than this RGB toy...
I mean lol that's too expensive! Would have been interested!
Agree. Not sure if I’d pay more than $99 for the hardware and then $30/year for the service. I was interested too. Shame
Oh I thought that this was the dude which FPS Kyle bought Onlyfans from.
I see you in a year 300 buck no way
Oh, poor piano. One day piano had a glory.....
I zoned off at the price 😩
Price complainer😑. Quit being negative and a victim.
7sydyd
there's a difference between 'piano' and 'keyboard'
Too expensive
4th
not learning
They must be crazy with that pricing
Find a midi controller for cheaper... there are about 5 out there...
Just buy a $300 keyboard and get $80 online lessons and that will serve you better lol
Boring
Stupidest comment ever
Man Roli is such a weird company. None of the Seaboard or Lightpad products worked out really, you don't see major musicians use them.
Hi there, the Seaboard and BLOCKS have been used in tracks by Hans Zimmer, Grimes, Ed Sheeran and Wu Tang Clan, plus they've been featured in live performances by Guns N Roses, Duran Duran, Flume, St Vincent and many, many more!
Ooohh, in yo face!
@@SystemChannel love it. But I don't see many of these performances live with the Roli products. Just a note, I own a Seaboard Grand so I'm invested in the company!
@@vancitycanucks lol, I see your point, however their products have only been out for a few years compared to traditional electric instruments that have been out for decades.
Grimes is pretty major...lol
$299 oof! I'll remain smooth brain
Looks like trash
Learning Piano on a 24 plastic key toy for charming 299 PLUS lesions wich even dont have midi? Its like making your driving license on a rainbow farting donkey. Bs.
Hi Christian, LUMI is a MIDI keyboard! You can use it like a normal MIDI device with other apps or desktop music making software.
@@LUMIKeys hi lumi - again, i‘m sorry, i must have overheard this. My other arguments stay.
Have seen it work first hand. Eight year used it for 3-4 weeks and was ripping. Amazing piece of teaching tech. Solves many problems for beginners.
These are games and our distraction from learning a musical instrument. They destroy interest in musical instruments. Don't use them.
Is this comment based on any personal experience of this product?
What a tool
