We've made a revolver before, but it's been several years and most of us don't recall the experience, so we are reexperiencing the drink recipe, The revolver cocktail is sorta-kinda-like a black Russian in that both have coffee liqueur and both are simple.
But, the recipe is simple so it fits the need!
The Revolver
- 2.0 oz Rye Whiskey
- 0.5 oz Coffee Liqueur
- 2 dashes Orange Bitters

I wouldn't usually think of using an 84 proof rye for mixing. I find in cocktails I need 100 proof base spirit to stand up to mixers without getting lost. I guess the coffee liqueur has a little proof to contribute? I'm going to try it anyway because the flavors are up my alley.

Yeah I usually also use high proof for mixers but mainly if it has juices or an egg white
