I've got a college degree because of this song, not kidding. This motivated me through that.
Good job
@@dxrkfire22 , thx!

Yo that’s amazing man, I don’t even have my GED lol and I’m 26 bro! That’s a major accomplishment to me, good on you man and hope for much more success for you.
charles berry It’s never too late! they have programs where you can get your GED late in life!! you can do it! ☺️☺️
I can't even imagine the amount of ppl that have made it through difficult times with the help of this song alone. It's as if the music brings out the hidden power sleeping deep within you. Timeless and priceless track.
when they made Forever and Kanye heard Eminem verse .... Kanye scraped his old verse tried to make a new one, he struggled for 2 days straight and his new verse didn't even came close to Em's verse ... that flow, wordplay ... geeeezzzz ... there's a video on RUclips with Kanye saying this
I listened to this song before I took my exam for my BCBA and I went in with the motivation plus the knowledge and practical experience and passed. Hardest test I have ever taken and I passed.
No way they hear this the first Time. Everyone knows this song
I'm a juggalo icp all day but even violent j today said em is a legend and he did say he wants a versus with him
I became an engineer because of this song. Not joking.
so u guys saw the moive without the song?
"Lose Yourself" won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, making it the first hip hop song to receive the award, and also won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Solo Performance.
If I remember correctly during the awards ceremony for the Academy the award was being presented by Barbra Streisand and of course first she listed the nominees and she almost did not list the song amongst the nominees she added at the last second sort of like oh yeah and Lose Yourself by Eminem from 8 Mile and then lo and behold it won.
He didn't attend the Oscars, I'm not sure why. But the year before last he finally performed the song there. It was a surprise and I think he got a standing ovation. The performance is on You tube.

Props to Dre for recognizing what Em was, and giving him a platform to make musical history
Absolutely it’s so inspirational because it wasn’t easy for Eminem to break through . You can see how every one sees that .
Or Iluminati's
Talent recognize talent!
YES!!!
Dre put his rep on the line for Em, but he wouldn't let anyone deter him from signing Em and working with him! All those losers who told Dre to drop Em surely were feeling like complete idiots once Em got big!
The entire generation of angry kids from broken homes grew up on this song, looking in the mirror and hyping ourselves up not to give up and to go for it even without having a single thing to fall back on,.
Oscar-worthy indeed!
The irony that is was the anthem for a generation of women becoming single moms. We were all at the club burning the anger out to this song.
Indeed
That’s what the Oscar’s are supposed to be. Not some elitist shit crapped out by people who don’t give a damn if you or me die poor but shit that pumps you up, give you the energy to give your all and inspires you to make an impact that shakes the world.
No so much broken home as an abusive marine father. Hated me listening to this. My mom had my back and that’s where the broken home came in
and good on you for finding a 'Path' !

Absolutely!! And I say that as a life long Rock and Heavy Metal fan! Eminem transcends genres!
@@p4fizzle Not really.
He's a rapper and has always been a rapper, he hasn't bridged any genres at all.
@@OriginalPuro Ok, so to break that down for you so you understand what that means. It means that people who wouldn't normally listen to rap, will listen to Eminem. So he transcends genres. It doesn't mean he does heavy metal and rap. cool

Yup this song and a baseball bat is all I needed lol
My High School literature class teacher used the lyrics to this song to discuss poetry. It was odd but awesome lol.
Oh wow...
I chose this for my god son when his speech therapist said he had to memorize a poem or other and recite it for him to demonstrate he was improving.
He was 13 and struggling to not mumble and express himself, and when I heard of this task he did NOT want to cooperate on I thought THIS ONE will catch his mind and motivate him.
So I found it online and downloaded it to his laptop along with a lyric sheet and walked him through the messaging from both 8 Mile and the lyrics directly.
Then I helped him to learn the different cadences and speeds and patterns of sounds while being clear in his speech until he felt confident in practicing alone...
2 weeks later and his mon insiated I come to the therapy session with them- good thing I did, they forgot his laptop so I brought it up on my celll's playlist lol.
His therapist had no idea what he had chosen and said to me was it llke a scene from Shakespeare and what was a need for audio?
I laughed and said MUCH better demostration for his improvement- and suddenly my tense and slumping godson stood up straight and looked him in the eye while he said it was a rap song. The dumbfounded doubt on his face!
I just said Listen and you will see, got a nod and hit play.
It was amazing: he had been doing decent last I heard him 2 weeks prior, but now only 2 words were stumbled on in the entire song, he never even glanced at the laborious work with cheatsheet he held, and hit every shift and rhythm perfectly.
He got a standing ovation by his speech therapist and I saw a rare smile.
But the best gift of all was having him be so confident he wanted to demonstrate his skills to a circle of friends at school- which led to a huge shift in his entire friendships and sports and school academic experiences for the positive.
From one single rap song.
There is magic embedded in this work. I know it. And saying it perfectly and with your heart evokes change for good. ✅
@@seaneendelong8065 this is wonderful!! I'm so happy for this ❤️

I was raised on food stamps and food banks, welfare Christmas’s, domestic violence, divorce, alcoholism, you name it. No help when I graduate high school. All I had was a refusal to fail or settle. I do believe that he won Academy Award for this song, the only rap song to do so. I love it!!
365 Mafia also won an Academy Award with a rap song.
Common also won an oscar

He won an Oscar and Grammys. First Hip Hop song in history to win an Oscar

The MEMORIES. I will never forget sitting in the theater, opening day for 8 Mile. I forgot to breathe when I heard this song for the first time. Not a rapper, but also raised in hopelessness and got out. Instantly transported back to the moment I realized that I wasn't alone and that I had to gtfo.
When Kayne read Em’s verse for Forever he canceled all appointments for 2 days to rewrite his and still got smoked by Em. Old Kayne good but end of discussion.
And so did Wayne
Eminem, Jay Z, Tupac, Biggie, Andre 3000, Nas, Wayne, Kendrick in no particular order. They are all GOATED!
I would put J cole on there but I agree.
Same with cent
Mac Miller too
Wayne does not belong anywhere near this list.
Totally, they all are, but in my opinion Em's the greatest of all time.

I'm in my 20s and I love this song man the movie was amazing as well
Yes! Em represents for good Michiganders. And he gives props and respect to the black community, where rap began. (Unlike that embarrassing old Karen-type geezer, Kid Rock, who unfortunately represents a whole other demographic of Michigan whites.🤦♀️)
Same hard times vibe during that time in northern Missouri, I'm 42, and grew up in same time frame as you.
My opinion, Eminem is the best lyricist, his delivery and style along with keeping his rap battle style makes him the best American rapper. His lyrics have so many layers and make you go back referencing events that took place 15 years ago and he brings then back and ties them into new songs. How many other people do that?
7:40 dude on the left looked like em was talkin to him face to face, this song still out here inspiring people 🤘🙌
Я русский, и зачем я это смотрю?) Потому что, это песня легендарная, даже мы все русские знаем ее. Я даже наизусть помню припев и первый куплет.

If you can write a great song that doesn’t age, applies to every generation, and sends the same relevant message out to your grandkids as it did your own generation then you will never be forgotten. This is like we are the champions, it just remains.

But i d get another type of goosebumps if i d hear it sang with an arabic accent in am aiplane with a dude covered up and with a backpack..especially at the part do not miss your chance to blow 😂
I love y’all’s energy. I’ve heard of some actors and actresses who sing this song in their head before they go on stage in front of their peers. Isn’t that something. I thought it was great when he performed this song at the Academy Awards. Selma Hayek freaked out because she confessed that she sings this song before she has to speak in front a crowd. Eminem had just performed this song and it was a surprise to everyone. He was coming off the stage and she bumped into him. She said she freaked when she saw him and spit water on him. You should see the clip. Anyway, he ended up taking a picture with her but she was so bummed out that her hero was going to think she was crazy. The next day she reads that Eminem was asked if he enjoyed performing at the Awards show and he said, “Yeah, I got to meet Selma Hayek.” How cool was that? She couldn’t believe it. When I’m down I like to listen to that song because it’s inspirational. Great job guys. I truly loved y’all’s reaction.

Great reaction! You guys should definitely watch / rewatch 8 Mile and do a reaction to the battle rap scene at the end. Also, in President Obama’s book last year, he said he would listen to Lose Yourself before he made important speeches 🔥🔥🔥

I think what this song does with the English language is on the same height as Shakespeare's best works. Absolutely brilliant.
Eminem is the biggest rapper
My Top 3...
1. Eminem
2. Nas
3. Tupac
The reason i give Em the 1st place is bcuz of all the tools he has in his bag. He can do it all. Speed Rap, Lyrical Rap, Emotional Rap, His candace, flow, longevity, etc. Em is the only rapper i can think of that has different genres in his discography.
-Whether its Comedy (Hi My Name Is, My Band, Purple Pills, etc.)
-Whether it's Emotional Drama (Cleanin out my Closet, Spacebound, etc.)
-Motivational (Till I Collaspse, Lose Yourself, Sing for the Moment, etc.)
-Horror (Stay Wide Awake, Buffalo Bill, etc.)
-Diss tracks (The Warning, Killshot, Bully, Nail in the Coffin, The Sauce, etc.)
I can't even think of a comedy song from Nas, Jay-Z or Drake. Em really has done it all. I hope you guy's go down the Eminem rabbit hole tho. It took me until this past year to really go back and listen to him before I could see why so many have him as the GOAT.

The part I love the most about this video, and I don’t know if you guys will ever see this, as it was from two years ago, BUT if you do see this comment, I hope you do, please feel good about the men that you all are, because we are living in a world where it’s starting to be discovered that it’s actually more rare to have empathy and compassionate souls than it is to be some narcissistic. You all are cut from the good fabricate and I know this from watching your reaction video, because the fact that you all got teary-eyed over the storyline … THAT right there proves that you all have empathy …you have my subscription, I’ll watch all your stuff because I want to surround myself with content of people that are good people you guys are high value men not just because maybe you’re famous or you’re good looking or came about some money, but you’re high value men bc you will be viewed highly from God, due to keeping Jesus’ last commandment.. love thy neighbor, having empathy is doing just that! You’re at the most highest value to god.
God bless and keep up the work you’re doing bc just those facts, that you may not even realize you’re doing, is huge in the spiritual realm. You have a platform you have an audience and you’re not creating misinformation hate or divide the biggest thing you’ll ever notice when you’re in the wrong is there will be confusion, which brings divide, then comes hate, and eventually the evil will start to destroy and conquer.. 😮💨💯🫡 just speaking truth, people. 🤷🏻♀️
I like how a lot of reaction channels will post "reacting to Eminem for the first time" and then it's two months of Eminem reaction videos that follow because of how insane he is. a lot of people made reaction channels that took off after reacting to Em, you get to experience insane lyricism, and his fan base follows because we all want to see other people react to it for the first time.
You really predicted this for them cause I’ve just gone through their videos and they have so much Eminem ones and you can really seeing them falling in love with Em
This song takes over your soul somehow

If I could leave a recommendation. Please react to Eminem - Soldier. IMO it's the closest we've gotten to Tupac since he has been gone (R.I.P). The zone and mindstate Em was in during that song was wild. A real FTW type vibe and that moment where he does that Pac flow "I'm a Thug, wit alittle bit of Pac influence" is very similar to 2pac's style, candace, and beat.

My older sister used to sit me down and make me rap Eminem songs when I was a kid (2003 ish) to this day I still remember every word to lose yourself, mockingbird, hailies song and way I am 😂 so nice seeing your reactions cause I genuinely can’t remember the first time I heard a lot of Eminem’s songs!
I can't believe they compared Eminem to Kanye lmao. Kanye doesn't come close to being on Em's level. PERIOD!
I watched MTV the entire summer after this came out just to watch this music video play 10 times a day 🤣 I was 8 years old
A lot of people heard his albums, the WHOLE WORLD heard this song.
I remember i was in college when this came out. I went to watch the movie the night it first hit theaters. Great track and great movie!
