Indeed. Thank you to the folks who posted improved audio links. The issue though is that I wanted to understand what went wrong so that I could hopefully reduce the likelihood of this issue arising in the future. This is why I decided to work on the problem myself. Plus I am notoriously poor in delegating tasks onto others but I am truly thankful for all of the help/offers for help. Cheers.
I am an Indonesian Muslim. Indonesia is the largest Muslim country which consists of various religions. Around 200 million muslims & more than 50 millions non Mulsims. Indonesia doesn't impose sharia law. Only in Aceh province which is a small part of vast country. Here women get equality in all areas. they are protected by law in case they got beaten up by their husbands. Right now wahabi takfiri is going around here. threatening our tradition of religious diverity. I agree with Imam tawhidi. There must be a reform of hadiths
@Benjamin Forrest Tell me what kind of sharia that being forced in Indonesia? Yes, there is one province that imposes sharia, but there are other 33 provinces in Indonesia thatdon't impose sharia. Indonesia is not an Islamic country with Islamic law Indonesia 2020 population is 273 million people. 87% Muslim, 9.8% Christianity, 1.69% Hinduism, 0.72% Buddism and other faith. In mid 90s groups of radicals started to emerge, such as Hizbut Tahrir. They want to establish Islamic State ruled by sharia. But this movement is against the majority.
@Benjamin Forrest You made a wrong allegation. Aceh's sharia was not forced by the Indonesian government. It's applied by the Aceh people themselves. They have their own history regarding separatism.
@Benjamin Forrest I didn't say it's ok. In fact, the majority doesn't agree with taliban, wahhabi, salafi sharia. Wearing hijab is not mandatory here. women freely go to work or drive their cars/scooters. There are female cabinet ministers and a female President. It would have never happened if taliban, wahhabi-salafi sharia was imposed. You're completely lost if you think Indonesia is lthe same as Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia But, yes we have problems with radical minorities who insist their sharia.
This man is very brave. I think perhaps he is doing the apologetics he is, which isn't that bad, because he is so attached to calling "God" Allah. Naturally, he is after all very invested in it. Or, perhaps, he is moving beyond that, and knows the power of his message is because of his status as an Imam. But still, my God, the brass balls on him! Creator bless him.
Unfortunately Muslims still don't see Islam as a belief . They really think this all happened no question. I cant even prove Mohammed was a real person .The sooner they realize it the better. Thats why i think it changed for Christians alot sooner.
One of the best interviews I have ever heard. Two different views on religion yet they found common ground, and at times made me laugh. Well done guys.
all abrahamic religion have the same fundamentals. its all the same if you actually think about it. the difference is when christianity tried reform it it fell apart hence people are now athiest. islam is stonch religion. there are possitive and of course there are negatives. its about interpretation
@@4LP3E Aye, the fundamentals all come down to the same moral underpinnings. It is when institutions are brought into being when influence leads to the realization of power, and from there to political manipulations through dogma. In essence all the great religions of the world are based on the individual, passing judgment on others has no legitimate place in the authentic (nowadays broadly tainted by worldly matters) beginnings.
Thanks for taking the time to fix the sound problem, Gad. This is a really important interview and it deserves as wide an audience as possible (I've paid for five minutes of your time, BTW, and I hope others also contribute). Listening to Imam Tawhidi lifts my spirits. He gives me a glimmer of hope for the future. And thank you Gad for asking just the sort of questions that sprang to my mind on hearing Imam Tawhidi for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Primarily, how could he be so enlightened and still be a devout Muslim? Now I understand (I think) and I'm glad he's not an apostate because we need people like him within the religion rather than outside it.
I think it's better if he stays a Muslim and reforms it within rather than just be a hated apostate by leaving the faith and incapable of improving Islam at all
BennKay Exactly, he's the kind of man who could ditch Islam in favour of being an athiest , living in basic peaceful humanity with his fellow human beings BUT his valuable voice would not be heard so if he can help reform from within Islam, so much the better. We appear to be outnumbered by radicals and non-muslim apologists so sadly, I think his success is limited but hope I'm proved wrong! peace x
BennKay I am trying to understand that too, how can you ditch the hate, violence, and supremacy of Islam completely, and have enough of it left to still be a Muslim?
Imam Tawhidi certainly comes across as a wonderful humane courageous fellow. He's got his work cut out for him , and I hope he lives to speak for a long time.

I think mohmmad was just a successful warlord.... people were foolish to follow him just becos he was successful in conquering... conquering land became islam religion..
first half of the interview and I'm like 'this guy is ridiculous, he's the equivalent of Laci Green of Islam'. second half and I'm like 'holy shit this dude is based as fuck.'. conclusion of the interview I'm thinking 'we're collectively screwed.
GalacticusX Good thing i saw your comment because 32min in and I'm bored enough i was about to turn it off. As an ex-Christian (of the abstinence only/young earth creationist variety) who is now an agnostic atheist and sees value in metaphorical readings of religion, the apologetics of literal believers in any faith tend to bore me in similar fashion to hyper geeks who ramble endlessly about their expertise gathered out of fan based technical manuals on the minutia of antimatter-flow-regulator differences in Warp Drive technology between the Original Series time frame and the era of DeepSace9. I'm glad your interpretation of Harry Potter wants you to be nice to your neighbors instead of killing them for being muggles (more of that please!), but I'm personally just not that into LARP. As long as you aren't shooting your friends with a crossbow for failing their dexterity check and then running from the cops with your boots of escaping, or making a racket with your master level illusionist bard spells when I'm trying to sleep, i really don't care all that much.
It pays dividends to stick around for the whole interview, because his realistic depiction of the sitiation with Islam is extremely enlightening. The shitstorm that the West has invited into their own homes is reaching the point of no return- actually I fear that it's already too late.
After people suffer from a nasty cold, flue, they develop an antibody to the virus, specifically the antibody works against the BODY, i.e., the specific virus, to render it not able to hurt the persons who have such antibodies. Anti anything is the response to something, no SOMETHING in the first place, no ANTI . . . , period. Anti-terror is the result of TERROR, anti-Islamic-Terror is the product of Islamic terror. When today's terror attacks are almost exclusively carried out by Muslims, is it a small wonder that people, common people who would never think of discriminating anyone since they are neither white nor privileged themselves, would feel fearful of going to a normally very safe public place like a concert and football game? Those are common life activities not that many years prior to the mass inflow of Muslims into their countries and regions? Not anymore now. Phobia is an irrational fear of something, such as fear of ghosts, or shadows. However, fear to be killed for no reason other than you are not Muslim in places you can not predict and at time you cannot know is not PHOBIA. The FEAR is REAL!
Wow! Mr. Saad, you are HUGE now! I don't "comment" normally, and all I can hope for is that you SEE this! You were amazing in this conversation. And as someone who has studied Islam, I love the way you questioned the Iman. You are a beautiful person. And you are helping to make the world a better place. You are an inspiration!
A thousand thank you for inviting such enlightened honest individual. That's beside his courage facing the bigoted intolerant Islamists backed by the Leftists. Again. a thousand thank yous'.
Thank you and respect to the both of you for such a candid discussion. May you both find the greatest wealth of good health and wisdom. The Imam is like a lotus flower risen above the murky water. May Allah protect you from harm.
The Imam realizes that the only way to reform Islam is to go the "Maajid Nawaz" way and not the "Sam Harris" way. Good! Comfortable lies (Islam is peaceful) are better than uncomfortable truths (Islam is rubbish) for now.
Except comfortable lies to yourself don't fix the uncomfortable truth that the evil still exists in hundreds of millions of minds of others. It's a placebo, not a cure.
Aside from his mental gymnastics regarding the doctrine of Islam, his views on the separation of governance and religion are respectable. If there's to be any hope of reforming Islam, considering the actual contents of the doctrine, I'm afraid this type of radical mental gymnastics are necessary, in large scale. He seems like a very decent preacher, it's be good if more Muslims listened to him.
Gad, thank you very much for your efforts and time to address these technical issues. It really shows your devotion to your viewers. You should also add links to improved videos to the descriptions of the original videos, if you don't want to delete them (which wold be the most simple solution). (And I did sent you symbolic amount of 36 shekels (ח"י שקלים) via PP. :)
Vishal Maraj Great! But Sufis make up about 5% of all Muslims I believe. The question debated here is how to get the political violence out of Islam when it's canonized in the texts. The great majority of Muslims are not fundamentalist extremists, but a lot are. The West can't know who is who and will never sort it out. I don't see a solution.
I feel like a child that has been promised a day in disneyland right now! It is literally the first time I hear a muslim, speaking openly about the scriptures and acknowledging issues that are usually swept under the carpet of PC culture. I hope with every fiber of my heart, that this trip will not end, with a visit at the dentist. thank you Gad Saad and Imam Tawhidi for the great conversation!
I respect his honesty, but seriously why is he still muslim?? I understand people who consider themselves to be cultural muslims, but why still be an Imam?
Thank you both for this wonderful, hopeful conversation. There are good people and bad people everywhere; the good people need to ally, wherever and whoever they are. Here we see two good people allying, and that is the only hope that people have for the centuries to come. I'm very proud that Imam Tawhidi is an Australian, but I do fear for his life given the crazies who threaten him.
This fellow Tawhidi admits that he was a hating Muslim. And the cause, he has stated was because he was brainwashed for 13 years in an Australian madrassa. Surely the solution is to ban these schools of indoctrination in hate. We cannot just depend on, and just hope, that at some time later these indoctrinated souls will reform and adapt their religion to fall in line with their conscience. And Gad Saad you keep asking what is the solution of being humane while accepting "refugees" from Muslim countries and at the same time being safe. If I understand correctly these "refugees" are vetted not by the countries that take them in but by the UN, which is dominated by the OIS. It accounts for the fact that of the 10,000 Syrian refugees taken into the US, for example, 0.05% were Christian, although Christians used to form over 10% of the population and they suffered the brunt of the brutality from ISIS. To say that we (western nations) should preferentially admit Christian or Yazdi refugees is not discriminatory, any more than saying that Jews should have been preferentially admitted as refugees from Nazi Germany over others. Secondly they should be educated on western democratic values, as should our own children, which is not being done in our schools, thus leaving a vacuum, which ideologies like Islam are ready and willing to fill.
If we don't ban the operation of these madrassas, they will of course continue indoctrinating gullible Muslims, but then again, if we do ban them, it will empower them and make them feel like they are being suppressed, it would make them feel like warriors of a holy war and perhaps even further fuel their hatred/zeal and lead to something horrific
You cannot win over the already brainwashed. You are unlikely to convert the likes of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the Caliph of ISIS, into a peaceful person by pathetic acts of appeasement. The aim is to cut off the source of the indoctrination. Did you know that Salafi mosques and preaching has been banned in Malaysia? And that sermons in mosques need Govt approval there? If a Muslim country can do that, why cant we?
Immigrants should be educated about Western values and American democracy and THEN ask 'Do you want to come in and be a part of this wonderful place? I don't mean this in a nasty way but some people are not ready for this level of freedom and thats ok. Then please go back home or find another place closer to your own culture. There is no shame in saying 'I don't like it here I want to go home or somewhere else. Its a culture shock to those who can't assimilate and its extremely stressful to their children who are raised here with the culture, values and freedoms of America but at home have conflict with parents who still cling to old ideas which are incompatible with Democracy.

...or is he scared of sunnis are taking over the secular world and shias are threatened?...... he wants to be a muslim by forgetting or rejecting violent part of islam.... is it possible?.....
Giriyas he is deluded half the time when I hear or watch his videos , he dare not critique the prophet because he is scared of the backlash , truth is it's a sick savage barbaric religion that cannot be reformed he should just leave .
...totally agree... He is scared of the backlash.. this man didn't utter "peace be upon him" once when he said the name "Mohmmad". I think he really has any respect left for Mohmmad... I have come across so many muslims who agree that there are so many things in islam that are foolish still believe mohmmad was the perfect man... I think mohmmad was just a successful warlord.... people were foolish to follow him just becos he was successful in conquering... conquering land became islam religion..
There are people which are not able to believe jesus is lord.if that is the case you can be a jew or a muslim
This Imam is the incredible we should have much more of him. Bless him.
God bless you both Gad and Imam Tawhidi
"...you're an Imam and I wanna tread carefully."
"please, please, please" *makes bring it gesture*
lmao
Incredible wisdom, knowledge, courage of Imam Tawhidi! Huge respect to both for this conversation. Thank You.
BASED IMAM!!!
I would wear a t-shirt with those words on it. Very cool.
The Imam of Peace
No, a Zionist Imam. Oxymoron for any pious Jew or a Muslim who follow their scripture and truly believe in the word and promises of GOD
Nazrhael GG
Yep he is biased ...... he believes not in hate, but love and peace.
Good on you Imam Touhidi.
You are a true secular muslim. Keep fighting for such objective. All the best.
Very interesting guest. I hope there are others like him
Wow! Thank you for that mr. Saad and mr Tawhidi. With people like you there is still hope.
first half of the interview and I'm like 'this guy is ridiculous, he's the equivalent of Laci Green of Islam'. second half and I'm like 'holy shit this dude is based as fuck.'. conclusion of the interview I'm thinking 'we're collectively screwed.
I love when Imam Tawhidi says brother, so cool
Rain Hoogensen ”My brother Gad” ❤️
A thousand thank you for inviting such enlightened honest individual. That's beside his courage facing the bigoted intolerant Islamists backed by the Leftists.
Again. a thousand thank yous'.
Imam Tawahid, I covered you in the blood of JESUS!!!!
Thank you and respect to the both of you for such a candid discussion. May you both find the greatest wealth of good health and wisdom. The Imam is like a lotus flower risen above the murky water. May Allah protect you from harm.
Ooooh boy, this guy is gonna be in some serious trouble. Hope he'll be okay, especially because he could do some very important work.
Why in trouble? Is freedom of speach. He is not against anyone just speaking truth
The BOMB. This is the interview I've been waiting for. Beautiful. Sheikh just one more place you should visit Dave Ruben!
It's a placebo, not a cure.
change the theocratic laws without threatening the personal religion part
Thank you both, for your important work!
Mr Gad I enjoy your videos...Thank you for inviting Imam Tawhidi...wallahi da katkoot awi
MUCH better.
Give the fucking guy a break. He's trying to help. Stop making him say things that are gonna get him killed. Help him help us.
THANK YOU for making the improved version.
Great work!
Thank you for the improved audio.
He called you "habibi" ❤️
Killer Queen yeah it doesn't always mean my love ... it can also mean something like " dear" ..
Killer Queen its the muslim version of “mah nigga”
They are gays
Thank you so much for all the effort! :)
Lovely chat listened to the whole thing and was very entertained better than TV
Yes!!! I've been waiting to see Imam Tawhidi interviewed!
Much better.
Very much appreciate your efforts and all your videos Gad. Keep up the good work. We need people such as you to speak reason and common sense.
Love the discussion, but fear you 1200 or 1300 years too late...
マスター禅 Wahhabism IS the reformation
マスター禅 sorry but Sufis stood up and died to protect Hindus and Buddhist in india during Mugal coquest so I disagree.
Is he balancing his mic on two korans? I found that kind of funny.
Jason K. No, he is balancing it on the Hadith.
34:32 :: "Show me one Islamic religion where everyone lives in peace"!
Good point! There is hope with this man!
I respect his honesty, but seriously why is he still muslim??
I understand people who consider themselves to be cultural muslims, but why still be an Imam?
Freelance opportunist He never was a imam he’s a fraud and fools here pay him💰 ruclips.net/video/CC4TuYrSNJs/видео.html
Nice guy, but he's a seasoned cherry-picker.
I love these guys, brave enough to say things many people are afraid to say.
Richnz00 You think you can ban these mosques and they will just go away? In this age of internet and online availability of content?
Immigrants should be educated about Western values and American democracy and THEN ask 'Do you want to come in and be a part of this wonderful place? I don't mean this in a nasty way but some people are not ready for this level of freedom and thats ok. Then please go back home or find another place closer to your own culture. There is no shame in saying 'I don't like it here I want to go home or somewhere else. Its a culture shock to those who can't assimilate and its extremely stressful to their children who are raised here with the culture, values and freedoms of America but at home have conflict with parents who still cling to old ideas which are incompatible with Democracy.
Are your parents first cousins? 😂 Don't tell me because I already can figure 😂 ijiot coont.
Smart man. The west need more imams like this man. There is no antidote like reason against terorisim and evil.
Wow, this guy is woke!
Excellent discussion. Thank you.
Excellent video, you are both islands of common sense in an ocean of insanity
Excellent interview!! Very informative! Sharing on social media. Kudos to both gentlemen!
How did you get him before, Lalo?
Thanks for the audio edit, Gad! I really looked forward to hearing you two together.
This guy needs to have a chat with Bill Warner, but I'm sure he wouldn't.
Why not? I could see him doing that.
+The Dude Abides: I think he would definitely talk to Bill Warner. He wants to dialog with everyone if it helps reform Islam.
false, he said he would love to
That was a fantastic conversation. Many thanks.
This was a very interesting chat. Gives me a ray of hope for the west.
