Thanks for posting this. I think most of your info was pretty accurate but having followed the FJ40's since 1974, there were a few items that could be debated. Liked the video clips. May want to give some credit to the posters of those clips including Greg's Restorations in Rutland, MA. He took top honors at SEMA a couple years back with his FJ40 restomod.
Nice video. Sure miss my 73 Land Cruiser. It was an awesome machine. Bought her new and had her for 3 years. Wish I still had it or another one. If I had a choice...I'd think a 4 speed after 74 would be a great choice. Mine was red and even though it wasn't good on gas...it would pull a house off it's foundation.
Ok I’m going to say this. You’re super cute and the videos are so good when you are in them! I would love to see you test driving cars and working with them. The commentary is great but like the 4Runner vid, seeing you talking about it and working through all the things you like about it would be so much more interesting. Thanks for posting all the vids. I think folks would love seeing you in vids for sure. You seem so honest and sweet in the vids that have your face. Great vids regardless!!
ditto the last comments. some of your statements are a bit "off". That aside, thanks for posting this video. The FJ40's are iconic and deserve any publicity they can get.
I really enjoyed my 81 fj....but not my internal organs and my clutch leg....the frame length was not good for LA commutes. Better to tow it to BLM land and then have a good time!
Question: I am in the process of purchasing a 1971 FJ40, but it has three on the tree instead of a floor shift. Was that an option? It also has the PTO winch and bumper on it. Last but not least, the paint is really really old, but it looks like the Seminole red that you showed in your video.
This video has some incorrect information. You picked up on one flaw: 1971 models were column shift, not floor shift. There were too many flaws to call out each one, but relevant to your 71 model, it would not have come with a factory roll bar either.
Nice video, good job…The “fj40 pickup” as you call it is actually the fj45 or bj-hj for the diesels 😉.

This was my dream vehicle since I was 12. I'm now retired and maybe I'll take on one as a restoration/ hobby.
That would be a great retirement project!
Was my dream vehicle as well for 40 years. I finally got one and I'm never letting it go!🤪👍

Oooo the nebula green
I know right!
I see a lot of these in Hawai’i
That would be such a nice place to own one! I bet the salt water eats them up though :/

Does Toyota FJ40 1961-1965 have a differential lock?
Awesome!

buy it. pto winch very rare. 3 on the tree was standard. Not stick. This video is riddled with inaccurate info. pretty lame.

Hey thanks for stealing half of my content for your video! Never asked or gave any credit.
Look at the description! Thanks for making such a nice video. Your cars beautiful!
What a petty comment.
@@SignalCorps1 Not petty. Using someone's posted video without giving credit for same is indeed less than considerate.
