So nice to see WD bring back a classic Landcruiser. Brings back memories of my 79 FJ40 I drove in my HS and College days here in the US. Your description says 72 but the front grill surround ins squared at the corners and Elvis mentions 79 at one point in the vid. Ambulance doors. Gotta be a 79, not 72.
Wish I had one of these. It was certainly one of Japan's best cars out there on the market for a 4x4. They certainly knew how to make it simple to work on and make it very durable against rough terrains, and the fact that the 'minor' issues only require a handful of tools.
You need to do Morris Marina as well, because you have now done Mini, Jaguar, Austin Allegro, Triumph and Rover, but the Marina is missing. Also Rover SD1/3500 and Triumph Herald would be really cool as well. I remember when I was a kid our neighbour had a white Triumph Herald convertible, it was really beautiful car.
Corny. All brands got their own uniqueness. The early fj20 aren't that good as the successors, the 40 series from the 70s and 80s are incredible. The early 50s Land Rovers are iconic. The flat fender jeeps are the mighty elders
@@edrawarwickshire3701 Toyota wrote the book on how to rip off and steal other ideas and make cheap copies. Their whole existence is stealing from other companies. R & D used to stand for Research and Development but for Toyota it stands for Reverse-engineer and Duplicate. You are correct though, Toyota is very corny.
I feel like so much gets left out.. For example, what condition would the rest of the rubbers over the vehicle be in? Surely nearly every bushing would need replacing..
What does FD mean. . . . . Front Drive! Nooooo, it means F☆☆☆in Dick for not knowing that 😂😂😂 Plus Elvis, you go to all of that trouble painting and polishing but you leave the winch housing. You want a vehicle half done, then visit ' Wheeler Dealers ' 😮😅
Mike brewer and elvis i am writing to for some help from you 2 my brother is on his deaf legs and at the moment i am in macclesfield hospital ive only got £200 to £300 only
You've got how much! More than me! That 2 or 300 pounds would, refurb my alloys on my Fiesta or buy me a clutch kit ready to install or go half way to a full exhaust it's getting ready for. It would buy some new wheel center caps, a water pump, drive belt, tensioner and thermostat, oooo, 2 to 300 pounds!!!
What a joke this test drive.was first of all the tyre pressure wasn't dropped no wonder they got bogged second no one carry a bloody anchor in a 4wd could have quite easily have winched off the other 4b and lastly the winch job they had no fuckn idea about winching safety there should have been a dampler over the winch cable for starters come to Australia and see how to test out its capabilities and the landcruiser landcruiser needed so many mods it was just stock I should know.i own a 4b and it ant stock in any way

It's kind of funny how a vehicle that old, only has those "minor" problems. LandCruisers are incredible.
They last longer than any automobile
Great to see a 40 series on the show! Would love to see how you approached the roof refurb.
Awesome! Owned a white FJ40 in the early 90ties. Had lots of fun with it.
Just for a second, I thought that was the Golden Nugget 😄
😂😂😂😂 thought so as well @Matt off road recovery
Oh that is a sweet ride., no computers, manual trans., all raw!!!!
Nice work on the BJ40

Reminds me of something Dr. Doolittle could solve with the Push-Me-Pull-You's...yes, that's it 😂
7:40 Why you painted the bezel gray???🤯 You should have restored the faded emblems as well.
Where I can watch full new episodes?
What yr is it?
Land Rover: I'm gonna rip off the Willis Jeep but but I'm gonna invert the front end!
Toyota: Hold my Saki..
Sushi

Hello, Somebody have idea on which car site in Japan, they bought this Toyota? Thank you very much
I spent my childhood in this car in north of Pakistan. I want one in UK but couldn't find.
That has to be a 1979 model. BJ40 came in 1974 if I remember correctly.
Hey MV its a BJ not an FJ. The GN started in worse condition but ended up waaaay better

She is a beauty … that’s for sure 😂
Lately, it seems like Elvis need to look at some kind of board to narrate the story.
