I agree. Horrible filming but great race. ADVICE TO ANYONE FILMING A DRAG RACE: If you are filming a drag race make sure you can see both cars in the view at ALL times and that you can see both E.T./MPH at the end of the race AND keep still...at least your hands.
Completely stock on street tires is about right. He had headers and some suspension tuning but probably little else. These cars will do a second faster with slicks and gearing. A colleague had a sport model of a 2020 Mini Cooper, paddle shifters, BMW engine and all that. Once he learned to drive, he pulled low 14s on street tires. Goes to show how far power to weight has come in 70 years.
Yeah, gorgeous ride....this was just a cruise...should go high 12's. My absolutely stock 63 Fury max wedge Mopar goes 12.0's at about 115 all day, thru the mufflers...with sticky street legal tires.
Slow trap time (14.08) and speed (105.84) for a 421 SD. My 1962 Catalina Convert with a 389 Tri-Power Automatic Trans with a 3.90 posi-differential would turn (14.50s at 98.6 mph).
Yeah, slow E.T.....I don't think he was being that hard on it....I'd say this is a 13.50 car stock...it's tough to launch one of these harder with a stick...it's hard on parts.
Agree. The speed (105.840 ) should correspond to a much lower ET. I suspect the gearing is too high. The car should be in the 13's, or possibly high 12's. I had 4:33's in my 65 GTO. That will get you off the line a lot better.
Beautiful camera work.outstanding.😎
Baaahahah 😂😂😂
Kudos to the squirrel filming for not running out onto the strip and getting run over by one of the competitors!
Who the Hell filmed this video, Ray Charles ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Stevie Wonder. 😵

Beautiful poncho
Must of been a tornado, surprised cows werent flying around
That's hilarious
Wonder if it has cut outs
Okay......I'll ask. Which car had the low ET?????????
No helmet- I think this was just a Sunday cruise for the Poncho. He didn’t realize he was at a drag strip. ha
I wish we could watch it. Still, PONTIAC 👍🏻
Try bouncing around a bit more next time...............................
Was there an earthquake happening?
What skills?
A race at a sanctioned drag strip without a helmet?
Bad start. Looks like he took it easy on the ole poncho...
421 SD Should have no problem with any Chevelle.
Salut my friend super car super video subscribe subscribe 🚗🚗🙄🙄👍👍
What about the 421 Bonnie
Who had the camera, Shaky Sam?
geezz that Pontiac needs a man who can drive it,,,,,,
Must have had an anchor in the trunk, 14 sec.'s?

Should turn high 12s low 13s for a 421 SD if your on your game. 🏁
If the poncho had a 421 the Chevy probably had a 396. Hard to believe the 396 could be to 421 except for the weight difference.
Old Ponchos are not that heavy, both weigh around 3800 lbs.
421 SD should beat any Chevy.
Something is wrong here.
14 seconds was very respectable time for back then This guy had 12 sec 440 GTX and That was don’t fuck with guy fast
If you're going to post a vid .. try holding the camera steady . I was getting sea sick at the end !
I had a 1960 Catalina automatic skip Hollandsworth with a 421 and I would beat 396 Chevelle's. Sounds like the Chevy was a little souped up.
It was a HO 421
Your camera skills, uhhhh

Ya a little slow, but that is a very respectable mph, suggesting at least low 13s with a better launch.

Terrible camera work, but nice Pontiac.
You need a new cameraman!!
Need a better cameraman
Put the camera down! You can't shoot!!!
Really?
999990pl
Guy wasn’t wearing a helmet.
Where I race, if u run quicker than a 14 flat u must wear a helmet.
Terrible camera work...
Well at was the time? Did it beat the chevell??? That video sucked!
NOT a S.D. WTF you guys
OMG WORST CAMERAMAN IN THE WORLD WTF
Pitiful filming!
