- Here I go trying to restart this channel again! I'm going for a philosophy drawn from science style of video. I hope people might actually enjoy this kind of content but I like talking about this stuff.

This video reminds me of a phrase said by another yt channel about animals/biology that I see frequently "surviving is not about passing a class with an A, it's about just barely getting away with a C or D and having another lucky day where that is enough"
It makes sense when the hunting success rate of some carnivorous animals (you know, those explicitly designed with hunting in mind) is only a 30% success rate or even less
I gained so much insight in just 3 videos of yours. I felt really stuck in the human experience and now it feels less intimidating, bc it's no more the unknown I can't understand or "control". Thanks , you are absolutely right here on RUclips doing this educational videos.

I actually really needed to hear something like this. I've been struggling with the idea that I will never be good enough for quite some time now, and boom, I found this video. It almost brought me to tears. Thank you. This is exactly what I needed to hear to give me the drive to keep pushing forward. As corony as it may seem to be this vulnerable in a comment section, I just can't be grateful enough. You have no idea how long I have been desperately trying to hear these words, even if I didn't know it would be these words specifically. I just knew I was chasing a feeling that I thought I'd never be able to reach, so once again, thank you.❤
I like your rephrasing, reproduction of the good enough. Makes complete sense. The transition into "if you're not doing well, change environment", while it can be true, should still be examined on personal basis.
First question should be what is your goal and do you work towards those goals ?
If you're not actively hindered by your environnement then changing wont be of much help.
Good point. I suppose I was using environment as a very all-encompassing term, there are obviously other factors with different goals so of course it’s more complicated.

Survival is what all things want to achieve. This even applies to inanimate objects.
A table designed to be a table with four legs can't possibly survive without having four legs. If the design of the table is pleasing, it will inspire a reproduction.
Being the fittest in survival isn't about being the best at it. Being the fittest is about being able to adapt in an environment that has experienced a radical change.
Survival happens, it's an is not an ought.

There's evidence of ancient humans taking care for them and people with disabilities could end up in every place due to inbreeding either by low population density, royal stupidity or Alabama.

i feel like the fittest can also mean something like “the fittest in competition”? in the sense of reproduction it can be the fittest for the female in question, and thus the one chosen to reproduce with

Well, its a bit more complicated than that because of something called inclusive fitness. I didn’t touch on it in this video but no, you can be good enough without reproducing!
Modern human goals are also different than evolutionary goals, so reproduction isn’t always important there.
maybe you can adopt a kid instead. in that case you would be good enough to be a parent and that's awesome too.
