I have a singled drain blaster that I put in a longshot shell. I have a simple full sealed breech in it with about 14 inches of 17/32 brass. Clears the 125ft gym at my church with ease.

Glad he can stay under that 300 fps cap. Why 300? Is that the point where it embeds in the flesh? Most caps that I know of in the States are like 150 to 200.

I do have a 330fps drain blaster personally, but I don't pump it that much when I use it at wars... and it can also be a shotgun ;)
AirSoft projectiles are much smaller and lighter, therefore imparting less energy on impact. Also, those type of FPS are only for long range engagements as you eluded to yourself. My drain blaster barrelled for AirSoft ammo would likely come close to (or even exceed) that 500fps figure. TL:DR: you typed words, but said nothing of ANY value.
We use a cap of 300fps (currently 250 fps) because the field is incredibly large and covered in trees, bushes, and grass. If you are on the edge of the field and someone is standing in the middle of the field and 300 fps blaster will land short. As well as that we have rules on being forced to use a side arm when engaging in a close distance.
Airsoft tends to have similar engagement distance rules. Even for low FPS pistols once you get to a certain range you're meant to vocalize "Bang! Bang!" rather than firing because the pellets will penetrate 5-10mm on bare skin. Is there a group in Bendigo/Central Vic or do you guys hold events there?
The goal of this build was to resemble an SVD. The next phase of this type of build is to fit an LPA build into a stampede though and call it the KV - 2
Unless the shape is perfect and the dart is very heavy the point will actually act like a wing and cause inaccuracy. Flat heads are self-centering, like a space capsule heat shield.
There's nothing optimal about the way I built this blaster, nothing was calculated for it. It's just for fun really, it works well, just not optimal. Brass isn't a very good airblaster barrel material anyway. If it was optimum I'm guessing the barrel would be well over 2m in length to balance the tank volume of this particular type of drainblaster, it'd be in that aluminium bore most people are adopting, and there would need to be a little bit more deadspace in the system than the 30cm or so in this. An ideal air blaster would use a small tank at high compression, a little deadspace, and a barrel with muzzle porting just a tad less than the tank volume in barrel length. Drainblasters and other high volume tanks need way too much barrel, too much deadspace, and too much time to pump them up.

He could also put the breech lock back in there so that it locks shut.
The breech slightly friction fits in the forward position, it doesn't have a problem with the breech opening unintentionally.

Maybe I should make one of these out of my old recon and slap the stock attachment point onto my doominator.

The Recon here is effectively just a magwell, the volume of the tank on this build way overpowers this barrel length.
