they made you think Daemon wanted the throne. he never cared for it because he had 20 yers to fix up even before his nieces birth but he simply did not care for it. all he ever cared for was his family and his brothers + keeping the house of the dragon on its glory "on top". He knew what the Hightowers were up too from episode one but his brother never listened.

    • @kobarsos82
      @kobarsos82 3 месяца назад +16

He always did care about his brother's attention, approval and love. He had an odd way of showing it, it was mostly subtle in his mannerisms and actions, but if you put it all together it makes sense. Many viewers fail to realize this, its well hidden in the script and Daemon is surely not the easiest character to read, that's so fascinating about him, and also his performance.

Old Valyria was hinted in the books to have suffered a form of nucellarfallout. They insinuate a few times that they did experiments along the lines of chimera's and thats how the bond between men and dragons happened. Perhaps, thats how dragons came to be. They couldn't kill Otto at that moment. The actual war had not yet started, they were gathering allies and trying to negotiate. Otto went as a messenger, he could not be harmed. Of course yes, they could have killed him, but it wouldn't be seen well, much less accepted willingly. That's why what Aemond did was so bad. Lucerys was just a messenger, it wasn't an honorable death, it was murder. Aemond began the Dance of Dragons. "Then the storm broke, and the dragons danced."

At this point though, Rhaenys already saw that the Hightowers were killing Rhaenyra's supporters. They also tried to imprison her. It seems like war had already begun for all intents and purposes. I don't know why they don't make more of that.

They changed a lot of things in the series that I think affected the story, but in the books it's always emphasized how at this point a negotiation was still possible, and at the time only crows were being exchanged. So by all accounts, the war had not yet begun. That's why I don't really like Rhaenys' scene with Meleys at Aegon's coronation, but whatever.

When Rhaenyra is giving birth, it shows the bound existing between rider and dragon. Rhaenyra is in pain and rage and so is Syrax. The same bound thing can be seen in GoT S5e2 when Dany takes a bad turn and is in anguish... somehow Drogon shows up at night to check on mom and... "hey you seem fine... buy..." And in S5e9... do I have to enter details?
Then there is that Dragon flight scene. It all start as a game... "I'll use my big one to scare the little one..." and it works. The little one is fucking scared even though Eamond does not probably want to end is nephew but just wants him to piss his pants. But lil'dragon is so scared that at some point he just screams "fuck off, leave me be, I just want out" but grand-ma dragon Vhagar does not appreciate this outburst and is turned-on... off-control... So, so well shot

Targaryens are inmune to things as long as they are bonded. Viserys claimed Drogon which died long time ago, so Viserys is no longer under the bond protection. Also it seems is the Throne rejecting him and his decitions further and further. So its the magic of the Iron throne that is killing him.

    • @storm3530
      @storm3530 3 месяца назад

That the throne is rejecting him is a fact. As he was a weak king who permited the dance... it explains the wounds, but not what it turned into. And I don't think being bind has anything to do with the disease immunity, it is just something in targaryen blood. A lot never bonded and only a few ever got sick... anyway imo there is clearly a maester thing... check some theories about that illiterate Boros Baratheon thing happening in that same episode 😉

When a person and a dragon are bonded the dragons feel the feelings of their person, no words needed. Arrax reacted to Lucerys fear by blowing fire to defend him. Vhagar also reacted to the malevolent feelings of Aemond. This is how dragonbonds have always worked and all boys have been taught this knowledge. Aemond is at fault.

I can't wait for Vermithor's appearance in the show. Vermithor was the mount of the Old King, Jaehaerys the Conciliator. After Jaehaerys's passing, Vermithor dwelled in the Dragonmont. By the time of the Dance of the Dragons twenty-nine years later, he is the second largest and second oldest dragon in Westeros, after Vhagar. The novels never give the lineage of any of the Targaryen dragons, though it is fairly clear that Vermithor was one of the powerful second-generation dragons hatched after Aegon's Conquest. Vermithor was nearly 100 years old during the Dance, putting his hatching somewhere around the years when Aegon I died. Vermithor ultimately grew larger than the previous half-dozen, such as Dreamfyre, but this may just be up to individual variation. Vermithor only had 1 Rider.

The scene in which Luke goes and meet with Borros Baratheon, really reminded me of Game Of Thrones, when Sansa was getting allies for the war for the North, reminding everyone of their oaths, without being fully aware of the passing of time apparently, everything that had happened in between, she got rejected and told some truths.
I always wondered what would have happened if Viserys had abdicated in favor of Rhaenyra IN LIFE, giving her that place. The fact that he thought everyone would be loyal until the end was a bit... silly, too hopeful, though that who he was I guess. Rhaenyra living 10+ years away from the court in Dragonstone, it's not doing her any favours either. I believe they were politically naive on not making stronger allies, or maybe a bigger effort to keep those families alliences. Her claim was going to be challeneged no matter what, she has her father's naivity in that sense, Daemon is the surprising part for me... but I guess, he is also full of pride and kind of corrosive when it comes to politics. The fact that they were so... unprepared.... was crazy to me.
Also, Daemon saying that his brother was killed was hilarious.

Moreover, what makes Rhaenrya the rightful heir? Tell me one time in the history of the 7 kingdoms that the named heir just got the throne? Joffrey was Robert's named heir, yet Ned opposed his rule. Was Ned a traitor to the crown? Was his execution justified? He, like Otto, was Hand and he challenged the succession. I agree with this. It would have been illogical. Remember also Rhaenyra had already been questioning if she still wanted the throne. She didn't want war. She was happy at Dragonstone with Daemon and her children. She and Alicent was on the same page for not wanting war. The terms also included recognising Jace and Luke's claims to their inheritances thereby legimitizing them. The offer for the two younger boys could have been politely rejected as putting her children within the control of the greens and in truth as just hostages would be stupid. Even when she was taking stalk of her allies she still hadn't made a solid decision. She certainly would never have targeted members of Aegon's family. The two could have co-existed and a marriage down the road would have rejoined the family. Aemond's actions took negotiation off the table completedly.

Vermithor is the name of the dragon Daemon sings to. He's the former mount of King Jaehaerys, who was a well beloved and wildly peaceful King. So because dragons tend to take on the personalities of their rider, means Vermithor is one of the more "sweet" dragons. Silverwing was another dragon mentioned and she was the mount of Jaehaerys' wife, Queen Alysanne, so those two dragons are also quite bonded. Kind of like how Syrax and Caraxes are because of the bond between Daemon and Rhaenyra.

She remained faithful and devoted to her duties as her former friend broke all the rules and people turned a blind eye. She had the guilt for murders she never ordered dumped in her lap. Yes it made her bitter and resentful, yes her kids are shitheads, but i can't hate her. She still cared for and mourned Viserys. Was ready to accept Rhaenyra as queen. She honestly misinterpreted his final words, wishful thinking yes, but an honest mistake. She still was angry when she found out the small council had been conspiring against Rhaenyra behind her back, shouted down any talk of having her killed and fought against her father to influence Aegon away from doing so. She's not on the right side, but her place on the wrong side is understandable and the most reasonable.

In it, it is revealed that the name of the song Daemon sings to Vermithor is "With Three Heads". Check the English translation:
    Fire breathes, winged leader
    but two heads
    For a rosary to sing
    From my voice:
    the fireworks spoke
    And the price was paid
    with blood magic
    With words of fire
    with clear eyes
    To tie the three together
    for you I sing
    As one we come together
    And with three heads
    We'll fly like we should
    beautifully, freely
26:34 In the book Aemond he kills Luke and because he wanted to, different in the series they are showing in the series that he is sorry, In the book Aemond he kills Luke because he wants to and when he gets home he celebrates and Aegon and Alicent celebrate Luke's death differently from the series they put as an accident the Two lost control of the dragons in the book there is no such thing as losing control of the dragons they ruined everything in the series but anyway Aemond killed Luke he could have prevented it It was just that he didn't follow Luke but that idiot Aemond went after him boy now he's going to face all the consequences now I'm wondering how they will do it in the series because in the book the greens are all happy about Luke's death by Alicent, Aegon and even Aemond so I'm wondering how they will do it this in the series because the writers put it as if it was an accident and that Aemond didn't want to kill Luke unlike in the book where he kills Luke because he wants to, I didn't really like it, they did it just to make people feel sorry for the greens in my opinion , in the book Aemond kills Luke because he wanted to kill Luke unlike the series which showed that it was an "Accident" but depending on how Aemond was and guilty of Luke's death he could have avoided it. if you followed Luke then he wouldn't kill Luke anymore as if Aemond was an idiot, an idiot is an idiot, he fucked up and now the greens are going to pay for everything they did.
7:19 Rhaenyra's baby would be a girl and her name would be Visenya and Rhaenyra wasn't dreaming about a dragon giving birth. Her own dragon, Syrax, was screaming in pain at her because they are so bonded. If you notice during the Battle of the Stepstones, Caraxes screams when Daemon is hit by an arrow. this shows how Rhaenyra and Daemon have a great connection to their dragons. Rhaenyra's anger burns throughout the transition was so well done, her anger is completely justified compared to how they did Daenarys
Daemon, as crazy as it sounds, he loved his brother. From the scene where he stopped Corlis talking shit about Viserys in ep 1, helping with the throne to mourning on the beach. I don't think Daemon wanted to show weakness because Rhaenyra was more vulnerable and it wasn't easy. (His last wife died in childbirth, and I believe it is also said that his mother died in childbirth and Viserys's wife died in childbirth.) So the only thing he could do was prepare for the war he knew was coming. for coming. The scene on the beach was much longer with him on the beach Matt the actor he filmed a scene on the beach the daemon suffering from the death of his baby who was a girl and her name was the series visenya but HBO preferred to remove this scene the daemon he is no longer a saint he loves his family he loves his children and really rhaenyra unfortunately the writers prefer not to show that side of him too much, i think the reason daemon didn't go to rhaenyra when she was giving birth is because he was afraid having to make an impossible choice. The last woman he had complications with died. He didn't want to have to make that choice for Rhaenyra. He couldn't lose her like this. As he fell to his knees, he was relieved that she was okay and had survived. Rhaenyra didn't want help during the birth because of her mother's death. She wanted to take that baby away so she wouldn't suffer the same fate. This series/book is awesome...
Matt Smith said that Daemon would give his life for Viserys and Rhaenyra. I fully believe he was heartbroken to see his brother in that condition. in the books Alicent she hates Rhaenyra she was always so jealous of Rhaenyra so much that I wanted Rhaenyra to die no and how in the series it shows that Alicent is like that and because in the books she does things because she is a bad person
Let's see the losses Rhaenyra lost mother and father and daughter and son and Daemon lost father and mother in childbirth and also lost his wife who is Laena and son and now he lost brother and daughter and two other children They are suffering, but each of their own paths, the daemon starts to prepare for war because he knows Otto very well and is afraid of losing his family One thing I will say is that they both really love each other rhaenyra she can't survive without the daemon They are the best couple like it or no, they are everyone's popular Daemyra forever
15:31 Emma Darcy who plays Rhaenyra she says the daemon never laid a hand on Rhaenyra this was the first time Rhaenyra her character didn't really care because she knows the daemon did it and because he is angry and is letting his emotion out and she also says which character of hers cares most about what she just found out the daemon doesn't know about prophecy because Rhaenyra I thought the daemon knew because he was viserys' heir for 10 years that's why she put on a smile side of her mouth because she just found out that her father always chose her and Rhaenyra had her doubts if her father wanted her as heir remember episode 2 when Rhaenyra talks to Alicent because now after years he got her answer The daemon must be sad because he is his brother and he just found out that he was never chosen and that his brother never trusted him enough to tell him and that is more moving A script came out for the first season that HBO thought about putting a scene in the story that Viserys I was thinking about telling the daemon so he starts talking to the daemon but then gives up but they didn't put this scene in unfortunately
I think the biggest reason people didn't like the scene of Daemon choking Rhaenyra is because he's supposed to be a bad guy to the greens but the protector of his family. Daemon is not a saint, but he is definitely not a villain. He does a lot of bad things, but he's a gray character, and loving his family and protecting them is one of his redeeming qualities and some writers are trying to take that away from him.
There are two teams, the Green Team that belongs to Alicent and the Black Team that belongs to Rhaenyra, I hope to see Rhaenyra with fire in her eyes in the second season, The Greens will pay for everything they did.

Daemon's love for Rhaenyra and Viserys are inseparable in many ways, two sides of the same coin, and no one but them can inspire his devotion and equally enrage him. He's so hurt when he realizes that Viserys never saw him as his heir.

Extremely well produced dragon-fighting scene. What stands out to me is the human element; Lucerys is only 14 who has never been an effective young warrior (he is 13 in the book) and is terrified but manages, somehow, to maintain the presence of mind to direct his dragon to swerve and hide rather than utterly succumb to panic. The boy had to be sooo scared; that's what really bothered me. Also, Aemond is around 16-18 (in the book) and has deliberately chosen to direct Grandma Dragon to rise from Storm's End and terrorize a juvenile dragon and a boy who was trying to complete an envoy's mission (by Westerosi tradition, envoys are spared as long as they take no part in violence during their errands). Lucerys was a scared child, eight years old, when in a fit of anger and rage in the midst of a sudden fight, he lashed out at the older 'uncle' who had threatened his and his brother's lives. Though he should not have slashed Aemond's eye, it was not pre-meditated and he was a child. Aemond was (in Westerosi terms) a young man sent on an envoy's mission, there's no excuse for his actions and he, not Lucerys or either of their dragons, is responsible for the deaths of Lucerys and Arrax.
