I own 3 pairs of Xero shoes. Is the Mesa trail the water Sandals and aqua x sport. I have had the Mesa trail shoe for I'll shoot for about a year and and they have held up extremely well. I currently wear the aqua X every day and I have been working out in them as well as the Mesa trail shoe. They have changed my life and my feet. This is not a paid advertisement. I have flat feet and now my feet are so much stronger and I'm glad they have different styles because I pretty much do not want to ever wear any other kind of shoe. I'm looking at the cross trainer And maybe some fancy casual shoes. They are expensive but they are worth every penny. Another thing to note is I know where my Mesa trails when I volunteer at a horse ranch. They get very dirty but I can make them completely clean is the clean just by using soap and water in the sink.I could go on and on but if you are thinking about a pair just do it! They are also very good about telling you what your size is.. Some shoes are true to fit and others Is run big or small. Just do it. Oops, I mean live life feet 1st lol
The HFS are the lightest shoes I’ve ever had. I like them for running, but only on dry, smooth pavement. The tread can’t handle wet or dirt very well (and you do NOT want to run over rocks and roots in these!). I also find them a little wearing at a full 5k, and want a bit more padding (but not the princess and the pea cushioning of most running shoes). I also have a pair of Xero Terraflex, their hiking shoe, and often run in those for trickier surfaces. Plenty of grip and more cushioning (although not a lot), while still feeling like Xero shoes. A while back, I got a pair of Altra Lone Peaks specifically for trail running. They’re still minimalist shoes (zero drop, wide toe box), but with MUCH more padding than any Xeros. I found that I don’t like them for running (too heavy, too little feel), but they’re absolutely my favorite hiking shoes. I wear them any time I plan on actual rough terrain.
Michael...awesome, I hope you like them. My advice, if you are used to running in normal running shoes, is to take your time to transition to these zero drop ones. Xero Shoes actually has some good advice on their website about it. Go slow to avoid injury and enjoy!
The Vivobarefoot shoes are great fit wise for not wearing socks. I took out the insoles and put in some Naboso insoles instead and just put them on without socks.
I also had chronic achilles tendinosis, planar fascia, and injuries thoughout out posterior kinetic chain (especially more i sprinted as a part of my daily runs). To save you trial and error, switching to barefoot shoes fixes more than half the problem. The remaining was fixed, for myself at least, by making sure I run with sufficient cadence (to minimize impact), using rolling pin on my calves after I run, and engaging in sufficient plyometric warm up routine before I run. Now I run every day of the week like a mad man, injury free 100%, and it has been that way for years. Xero shoes may not be the most stylish shoes, nor even the most minimal, but they last forever, are wonderfully versatile, and help prevent chronic injury. These reasons alone push the shoes up from an 8 to a 11, even if they were twice as expensive. Great review by the way. Look forward to your 2nd review of the hfs.
Aftab...thanks for the info. I'm going to check out some good plyometric warm up routines before I run, and rolling my calves after I'm done. 👍. Appreciate you checking out my video.
I’m waiting for my Xeros to arrive this week. I’m primarily buying them to wear when I play the drums. If I really like ‘em, I’ll wear them casually. Great video David 👊🏽
@@FitnessFinance4u For sure man. These are going to be my first pair of this type of shoe. I’m stoked but I’m getting the impression that Xero had to BUILD my pair and that’s what’s taking so long. Or I’m just anxiously excited!!
Damn, this a great channel! I don't really follow "running shoes" but stopped here to check out an honest review of these XeroShoes... and WoW... what a great presentation! I wish there were more items of interest I had on this channel, but, ye-ah, THIS is how a RUclips channel should be done!! I watched quite a few of your videos for things I'm not even INTERESTED and couldn't quit watching lol. Again, GREAT job and GREAT presentation sir... thank you
Jim, thanks so much for the kind words 🙏. So glad you stumbled onto my channel and I hope to make videos in the future on products that you are actually interested in...ha, ha!
@@FitnessFinance4u I'm going to go ahead and subscribe and "like" your current videos... I really wish other, long-standing, 'youtubers' would use your format... 1) you speak about the product, its history and inform us about the company/owner(s) which is refreshing. 2) you cover the product in detail... love the "what's in the box" take on the run-of-the-mill unboxing format. 3) PROS and CONS are so lacking in a lot of reviews... and is probably thee most important part of a review. 4) your 1-10 rating system is nice... you take the time to create a "baseline" if you are comparing dissimilar items (e.g. the cereal vs your typical breakfast that isn't cereal and still manage to compare in monetary savings) and the fact that you break things down monetarily is appreciated. 5) you do an excellent job of demonstrating the product. 6) your audio and video quality is excellent. 7) and lastly, you keep your video lengths at a really tolerable time length... not too short, not too lengthy. I bet your channel is going to have 500k+ subs by 01.01.22! Good luck, looking forward to more videos. New Sub!
My feet are horrible, I have a bunion on my right foot, I also have clown feet that are huge up front and narrow at the heel. I also have flat feet so anything with an arch is extremely painful. These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever found in my entire life. I own a number of these shoes and returned enough to be a bother with no problems or questions asked.. If they don’t fit or I don’t like them , pop them back in the box tape up the same package they came in and off they go money returned no questions asked. I highly recommend this company. I love this product.
Great video--looking for new running shoes and will definitely check these out. Impressed to hear that they are good for multiple sports since running shoes are often single-purpose without much lateral support for other activities.
Love the video and I just got the Hana style from Xero shoes and I only wore them for a short time last night and like them so far. I can't wait to go for a long walk in them. Anyway, love your review and all the information about Steven Sashen. Can't wait to see your 6 month review of Xero Shoes.
i bought a pair of vivo’s prim lite 3 and the soles have two holes in them after 6 months. full disclosure, i am a mailman and a runner, so i do put a lot of miles on them, but i was shocked that they only lasted 6 months. I did enjoy them, the fit is nice and they look great. I’m gonna try wildlings and zero’s. hope they last longer than the vivo’s. $150 is way too much for me to spend every 6 months.
@FUN L1F3 Thank you so much for leaving this review!! I am currently debating the vivo vrs the Xero and I average 8.5 miles/day and am also a letter carrier for USPS. Getting sick of tripping while walking in basic postal shoes...while not at work barefoot/moccasins 90% time. Think I'll give the Xero's a try.
Great review in presentation, content and style. Th rating system is effective. Thank you. BTW, I agree, a more subdued colour combo would be a great option for walking about town.
I bought my 12 yr grandson same pair but a size 5 1/2 in blue! Best shoes Ever + I got them ONSALE Of course now Nike is out & no clue when the blue will return! Not sure on other apps to purchase these? Any advice?
I'm looking into Xeroshoes as an alternative to Nike Free running shoes which seem to be getting much worse in recent years. Great to see it in action in Laguna in some of my usual running tracks, I think I'll give them a try. Thanks for the great review!
Awesome. I recommend transitioning into them slowly. I tried to do it a little too fast, and had to slow myself down (got really tight calves!). There are some pretty good RUclips videos on transitioning to barefoot shoes out there. If you see me running, or walking by you in town, give me a shout so I can say hello. Cheers!
Yeah that’s really good advice. When I was younger I did the Five Fingers and it was a very tough transition. Definitely will do and keep up the good work on the channel!
Found your channel and stopped to watch this video. I have a pair of Merrell Vapor Glove running shoes. I have always been a toe runner and when I saw these I thought these were made for me. If you looked at all of my Nike and New Balance shoes, the toes were worn smooth and the heel was barely worn. I started out with the Vapor Glove 2 which is the most minimal shoe I have ever worn. No longer made.
There was something charming about their old website...it was very janky, and looked home made, but it worked. With all their success, they probably decided it was time to step up their game.
I'm not in shape. I've never run before. I'm on my feet all day in a very physically demanding job. I have nerve damage and joint pain from various injuries and my physical line of work. I just began making changes in my lifestyle to get my health and recovery back on track. My question is, are these shoes that a novice can just put on and start walking, then jogging, and ultimately running in? After watching videos of the founder of Xero shoes talk about how our feet are conditioned from a lifetime of being in the wrong shoe, I feel like you'd have to gradually transition to a shoe like this to build up muscle, joint, ligament and tendon stamina if you go from couch potato to someone who wants to start exercising by way of long distance walking, and eventually running, which is basically what I am. I'm trying to reinvent myself from couch potato to an active exerciser but I am afraid just jumping into a shoe like this to start will be too much of a change too fast for my feet. Should I start out with a pair of regular running shoes to build up my stamina and gradually go to these or can I literally hit the ground running with a barefoot shoe? Any advice is appreciated. I'm sure there's a FAQ section on their site but I want to hear it from the people who actually test and wear the product. Let's face it at the end of the day the people who own the business are trying to sell shoes, they could say whatever it takes to do that. The consumer will be honest. Thank you!
Vincent, I applaud you for starting your journey towards making yourself feel "physically better" and attacking the challenges that you currently face. As I'm not qualified to give advice to you or anyone on how to transition into barefoot shoes, I think it's best to watch a few videos on RUclips to see how others have transitioned from regular to barefoot shoes. That way you can see real people's feedback and see what they say. I consider myself to be in pretty decent shape, have been wearing Barefoot shoes for about 5 months, and I still do not run very far in them. But I do wear them every day to walk around in. And they have cured my knee pain and I don't experience any back pain when I stand on hard pavement for hours at a time (which I have to do sometimes). My feet and ankles are definitely getting stronger. I hope that helps?
@@FitnessFinance4u thank you for the response. It's refreshing to see the actual media personality answer questions directly, as I know you're busy with producing content and product testing. It's greatly appreciated. Your answer was certainly very helpful, and definitely on the right track as I have discovered after watching this video. Right after this finished, my auto play played a video where a seasoned runner talked about the transition to these zero drop shoes. It was if the algorithm God's saw my question and sent the video with the information I was seeking. It definitely is a transition, and it's highly recommended from runners who've done it, because as I theorized it definitely can lead to other injuries to just go from one to the other overnight. I've watched several videos that highly support this change, and I cannot wait to get into this and see what a difference it can make in my overall quality of life and tap into my true potential. The pain I experience from 17 years of competitive sports, ironwork, and just not taking care of myself is so bad, and to learn that going to a minimalist style of footwear can help remedy this is very encouraging. It's quite an amazing testament to the power of corporate marketing that we've been convinced that more cushion is better. Thank you again for the response, and the encouragement. I look forward to more of your videos.
@@FitnessFinance4u i bought the shoes, and have been running in them every other day if I can keep that schedule. Got myself up to running 1 mile in 11 minutes with one stop to take a breather walk. Started out paced at 16 minutes with many stops haha. thanks for the encouragement.
Nice review!! I haven’t tried any minimalist shoes yet. I have wide feet and like I would like to buy a sneaker for training and playing tennis, do you recommend this one or do is there any better option out there? Tks
Thanks Jhustyn. If you have a wider foot and plan to train and play tennis, I would recommend the Vivobarefoot Primus Lite II's (you can buy them recycled on revivo.com or their newest Primus Lite III's on vivobarefoot.com. I play tennis and sometimes train in my II's. I also think they are a bit wider than the Xeroshoes that I have.). If you check out my latest upload "Best Fitness Products of '21" I talk about different brands of barefoot shoes for different athletic activities. Best of luck and tell me how it goes!
Angel K.N., I did size up from a 10 to a 10.5 and they fit well. However, if you want to be safe, order your same size and order a half size larger at the same time. You can always return the size that doesn't fit, but I do think you have to pay to ship it back...so make sure to read the "return policy" thoroughly!
Love my HFS Xero shoes. I can sprint much further than ever before....in fact, I've never been a sprinter really. :-) They make me feel like superwoman...kind of.:-) They are the best toys I've ever gifted myself with.
@@FitnessFinance4u Go slow because I thought I was and paid for it for a month of pain in my right foot on the top side. 100% healed now. I slowed down at least before I permanently hurt myself. Just don't push it and you should be fine.
Thanks for the review. Looking to get new ones. I have been wearing barefoot shoes for years and my feet feel so good, even though I workout multiple hours a day, 5-6 days a week, being a fitness professional. Out of genuine interest, I would like to alert you to the following. I can’t actually see your gait properly but what I think is your right foot - as far as I can understand from the part where your feet are in view (when you’re testing the shoes) - you need to work on tightness in your glute, hip and generally lateral side of your leg, it is most likely contributing to your knee/ Achilles issues, along with the disfunction you have addressed in your feet. Lower leg and foot tightness release and mobility of all the above also important. Well, have it checked by a professional anyway.
What’s your size on the Vivo Primus Lite 2? I saw you went for a 10.5 on the HFS’s. So cool that you like tennis too! Do you like racquet talk? Thank you for this video Curt!
JorgeAndresCoppiano...I'm about a 10 in my normal shoes. I used their size guide and it worked perfectly. I'm afraid I don't know what racquet talk is?
I've been wearing the same pair of Vivos for almost five years. I think that they're the "work shoe" or something like that. They're perfect for me. My husband just bought me a pair of Xeros, and the toe box is very noticeably narrower than my Vivos. I have wide feet that fit perfectly in the Vivos and are pushing the sides of these Xeros. Might have to send them back, which sucks because they're much cuter than my beaten up, old Vivos.
Haileigh...too bad about the XeroShoes. But I'm a big fan of Vivo as well. I saw they came out with some new styles recently which might help ease the pain of returning your Xero's. 😃
@@incorectulpolitic I just looked them up, and they're the Ra II men's. I should clarify that for those five years, I wore them from October through late May, and then I'd switch over to sandals and go actually barefoot for summer, so they weren't in 365 day use. My husband does wear them every single day of the year for work, and they last about 1.5-2 years for him. He's also over 200lbs, and I'm around 150, so that makes a difference in the amount of wear on the soles. Also, my husband's end up with holes in the bottoms of the soles. After five years, mine had no holes in the soles, but were totally splitting from the soles at the threading in the leather.
@@incorectulpolitic I have done all of those things, BUT I am not a professional or even close to it. I am casually athletic and have had no trouble with them. I imagine that you'd see much more wear and tear if you are a serious athlete.
I have a ton of Xero shoes, including the HFS. It may be my favorite. It's between that or the Speed Force. I tried Vivo....it was okay. I found the sizing a bit off...my usual size 13 was a tad too long. Only minor issue I had in the HFS was the insole started sliding up toward my toes in the left shoe....I eventually just took it out.
I've got like 15 pairs of Vivos and love for life for them but my next shoe will be this mfs.. nhs.. hfs ... Whatever they're called cause the Vivos have got the best soles but for my foot shape tent to be lose around ankle. That makes me often "look for the shoe" and I can't just "forget about it".. which is what you want.. maybe cause the uppers of lots of Vivos are so thin.. lots of people commented on really good fit of xeroes and also their versatility so I want to give them a try.. And this light blue color way is quite cool actually... Thanks for the video
I like and appreciate your video. I have been interested in Xero shoe. Confused about your rating system. You gave xero an 8 all around. What would be a 10, knowing Xero is an 8?
Thanks for checking out my video Christina. In order to give it a 10, Xero would need to pass a few more tests for me. I like the look of the shoe ok, but it's not the best looking shoe and I wish it were a bit more "understated" and modern looking. Also, if I felt like I wanted to wear the shoe "everyday", that would also up my score of them. They don't have a great return policy. Just a few things that would help. I have a pair of Vivobarefoot (white) Primus Lite IIs that I bought and I love them. They are probably the closest pair of barefoot shoes that are almost a 10. I wear them so much that they are pretty dirty. Hard to clean them, unfortunately. Hope that helps?
Richard, thanks for watching and glad I could help. I'm going to wait until at least 6 months to review Xero, Barefoot, Vibram and now Merrell (review coming soon) and do a comparison between them all. The more time I have with them the better the review will be as I'm finding that I'm already wearing some more than others, and it's interesting to see what shoes I'm liking the best over time. So, thanks in advance for being patient and stay tuned!
I think the vivo has a wider toe box. You need your toes to be able to fully spread sideways. When you held them side by side it was clear that the xero shoe is not as wide. I have a mortons neuroma so need a toe box that doesn't restrict my toes.
For me, it was hard to tell the difference in toe box size between the two manufacturers. I felt that they were about the same, but you might be right. I am tending to favor the Vivo's at this point.
Thanks for the review. :) I'm working to transition to barefoot shoes and got the Vivo Primus Lite 3 a few months ago. Looking to see how they fare vs Xero, so this is just what I was looking for. In terms of sizing vs Vivo, do they run about the same?
I love my Xero's, but there are also Lem's if you want something a little more business. I have Lem 1/4 ankle boots. but all my running shoes and sandals are Xero's!
I had the same feeling about the colors. The women's hfs comes in a light grey but the only one in my size was the atoll blue which is super bright for me so I just went for it. 😅
I just received a pair of HFS in red and the overall package of the shoes themselves, fit/finish, are very nice. My personal cons: The shoe laces are definitely too short. If I want to lace them up using the runners’ loops at the top, they’re just too short. The only other con, like you said, is the 80s return policy. At the same time, shoes are like tires: they’re wear and tear products that I honestly don’t expect returns on after a run, which still sucks because you can’t try them to their potential without putting wear on them. I did my normal run today and was over my normal 4-mile timing, but it’s my first day in zero drop barefoot shoes. My shoes before them were Ghost 12s and I started to transition recently by removing the insoles and running without them, and that alone had me 5 minutes under my normal 4-mile time. I’ll post an update comment in 90 days.
I tried a Xero shoe. It was pitched up in the front sole, dorsiflexing my ankle and hyperextending my knee, so I sent them back. I want a FLAT shoe with ZERO degrees dorsiflexion. I'll keep looking.
I have a pair that I absolutly love. They are the best shoes I have ever had. I lift weights and believe in minimalist shoes for better balance and posture. With refular shoes that have xtra foam and rubber they tend to make the ankles want to roll not xero shoes. Also they do have a white pair now.
How this shoes could help if you have flat feet or there is some other issues to your feet? One different then the other for instance?( has one almost flat and no the other.
Adriana, that’s a good question. I would consult a podiatrist or a physical therapist, who specializes in feet, before trying these if you have flat feet.
Thanks B W. That is a Mac Weldon polo. I never iron it. Just wash it, throw it in the dryer for 15 mins on low, and hang it to dry. I’m pretty happy with them!
I'm a fan of Xero shoes and have several pairs. However, I wish they'd stop flooding the Internet with useless reviews from people that got their shoes for free from Xero shoes. Those reviews often include people who never actually used the shoes and rarely give deep critiques of the shoes pros and cons. Also, Xero shoes shows you how much your paying for shipping where as Vivo buries the shipping cost into the price of the shoes to make you think you're getting 'free shipping'.
Thanks Todd. I definitely do "real world" tests of all the products I review as that's the fun of it. And I can give out my personal opinion as well. Also, good point on the shipping most likely being included in the price of Vivobarefoot shoes. Makes sense. Cheers.
I had a pair of vibram five fingers for awhile, love them, they have made my feet feel better. These sound promising. Has anyone compared these ? I was a sprinter growing up and was taught by my father than barefoot was better/healthier way back. Turns out he was right again. Btw great video, thank you.
Thanks JMGeronimo. I have to say I like these over my Vibram's, but it might be because I used these for at least a month before I tried my first Vibram's. So maybe I like my XeroShoes better because I'm just used to them?
I like my Vibrams more, but I honestly think maybe I just got the wrong size of Xero. They feel too big and floppy to me, whereas my Vibrams feel snug and right. Vibrams fit like a glove. It's like walking barefoot without worrying about glass or dog poop. Xeros just feel like wide shoes to me.
@@sketchur I received a new pair of vibrams last week. Their size is too small, my second toe is to long and it rubs to much. The sizing is different now. Shoes are a finicky thing lol.
I also started the minimalist journey with Five Finger shoes. However, I found Five Finger shoes had way too many limitations, such as they aren't remotely water resistant, they only 'kind of fit' my toes, and grass blades would get stuck between the toes and poke through the material! As a result, I've switch to Xero TerraFlex as my 'daily driver' shoes. The TerraFlex aren't water resistant either, but at least the material around the edges of the shoes provides for a little moisture protection where as my Five Finger did not.
Hmmm ChubbyPuppy85, that's a good question. I'm not really qualified to answer that, as I'm not a foot doctor or foot specialist. However, there are some great videos out there on RUclips that show you how to transition from regular trainers to zero drop shoes. Check them out before you go 100% zero drop. I hope that helps?
I’ve had both shows from both brands. Xero fit better and are way more durable. The vivo shoes started to separate at the glue line in a week. Returned them.
Glad I'm not the only one who experienced this with Vivos. Every pair I owned, 3 pairs of Primus Lite III, Trail Knit FG and the Magna FG all had the same after short usage. Geo Racer were the only pair that held up after having them a few years. Making the switch to Xero shoes and hopefully have better quality.
I appreciate your research into the company and enjoy your voice. However the super upbeat music is jarring when it comes in solo. I think you should tone it down to the volume level that you have it while you’re talking over it.
I don’t like how any of these look sadly. Vivos look nicer to me. In this video they do look a bit better though. I think the site is kinda out of date looking and the pictures don’t seem to do them justice.
SavageLifter, I looked up Marcus Filly, because I didn't know who he was. After finding him online, I have to say I'm flattered. Yes, we both have long hair, but he is in much better shape than me. Maybe one day I can be in as good of shape as he is. Also, I just cut my hair, so the comparison might be over 🤣
Kim, some days I have to stand for 8 hours or more, and with my old Nike shoes I would get back pain. I was on a set for three straight days a few weeks ago, standing in my Vivobarefoot shoes, and my back never hurt. Maybe these will do the same for you? I was amazed. Not sure how the Xero shoes would do, but might be worth a try?
@@FitnessFinance4u I have Altra lone peak 5 hiking shoes and my back, feet not knees hurt and I can hike in them. But I have to wear black shoes to work and they don’t have them in my size. I’ll try the vivos. Thank you!
The one thing keeping me away from them is other then one shoe they do not really have shoes that you can wear to work. I would have to go with another shoe just because of this.
Xero shoes the fit is off for me, it take a long time for customer service process my order, can't wait to have my money back, they gave a sale and now it takes 2 weeks to return email or phone call...so 2 weeks to get the shoes since they send it and now 2 weeks waiting to return them plus the shipping played 14 dollars shipping and now return shipping who know how much it will cost? i Learned a huge lesson never order from them!!!
KP Delaney...unfortunately, one of my back up drives that had the Xero Shoes video on it crashed and I can't find that song. I got it from the Epidemic Sound website, which is a stock website I use for all my videos. I tried to find by going through my history of downloads, but I downloaded it last June, and after a bit of searching, couldn't find it. So sorry. If it pops up again on my reco list, I'll let you know!
They are the same as all other barefoot shoes so far, as long as you actually use them they'll last, but as soon as you start to walk in them daily they'll be done in about 6 months.
Steve...I don't get paid for any of my reviews, I'm not sponsored by anybody, and I buy all the products with my own money. I tell you what I honestly think about products I try.
1) Calling them Barefoot Shoes is a misleading oxymoron because you’re literally wearing something on your feet, and it just gets in the way to a lesser extent, so the main 2 problems are toe grip and skin toughness. Also, leaving the insoles in makes it worse. 2) There’s also the company Freets (use the code “PKJ10” from Parkour Journeys), but keep in mind that they run wide and even my feet, which are Mid-Narrow had an extra thumb room of width, but definitely get them if you have wide feet. 3) Freets only have a 4mm stack height, while Xero Shoes have a 4.5mm-5.5mm stack height, so it would be better if Xero Shoes made durable trainers with a 4mm stack height or even 2mm (Freets usually have a 2mm outsole and 2mm midsole) or if Freets made narrower shoes, plus also removed the midsoles, but I’ll obviously also have to look into other brands ofc because looking at the main 2 that I know of is narrow minded.
Xeros are some of the WORST barefoot shoes in terms of quality (can be subjective) and are objectively THE worst in terms of foot shape and toe-box width. WAY too narrow in the toes. Even Vivos (which also run on the narrow side) are a little wider. Better brands are: Freet, Vibram FiveFingers, Belenka, Ahinsa, Topo Athletic.
Man I'm loving that design more and more. At first I didn't but now they're intriguing as heck. Thanks for this!
Glad it helped Adam. The shoe does grow on you!
Xero's are the most biomechanically friendly minimalist shoes. I have Vivo's & Lems too... they're all great but Xero's are my first choice now.

Thanks for the info Scotty!
So great to hear your experience with HFS and the Altras. Cheers!
I just ordered a pair but didn't know all this info on the founder. Makes me feel even better about my purchase. Thanks!
Glad I could help harry!
@@FitnessFinance4u I just got my "toe" socks in and am waiting to try them with the shoes.
Another excellent vid. You're a great filmmaker & overall personality.
All But Adam....thanks so much. Trying to get better and better and thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful knowledge. I'm sold. I'm ordering a pair of Neo Prios size 11 should ready by May 5th.
Michael...awesome, I hope you like them. My advice, if you are used to running in normal running shoes, is to take your time to transition to these zero drop ones. Xero Shoes actually has some good advice on their website about it. Go slow to avoid injury and enjoy!
I love this review! I’m in market for new athletic shoes and you sold me! I’m gonna get a pair!
Thanks! Let me know what you think!
The Vivobarefoot shoes are great fit wise for not wearing socks. I took out the insoles and put in some Naboso insoles instead and just put them on without socks.
Tyler...it sounds like you might have a side business there for customizing barefoot shoes!!!
I own zero shoes and I haven’t looked back! Love this review!
Thanks for watching Bree C!
I've watched this review and the MUD/WTR review. I really like your style and the work you put into each video. Keep it up. Earned a sub from me 👍
Thanks John...I appreciate it!
I’m waiting for my Xeros to arrive this week. I’m primarily buying them to wear when I play the drums. If I really like ‘em, I’ll wear them casually. Great video David 👊🏽
Thanks for watching Frank!
Thanks again... you would probably get mass views on a "how to create a RUclips channel", "how I set my video / audio", or some broad video to capture more people...
Awesome story John!
Great video--looking for new running shoes and will definitely check these out. Impressed to hear that they are good for multiple sports since running shoes are often single-purpose without much lateral support for other activities.
Thanks Jim. Yes, I'm running and playing tennis in them. So far, so good!
Love the video and I just got the Hana style from Xero shoes and I only wore them for a short time last night and like them so far. I can't wait to go for a long walk in them. Anyway, love your review and all the information about Steven Sashen. Can't wait to see your 6 month review of Xero Shoes.

@@FitnessFinance4u These or vivo barefoot shoes?
Just got mine today perfect fit love them.
Awesome!
i bought a pair of vivo’s prim lite 3 and the soles have two holes in them after 6 months. full disclosure, i am a mailman and a runner, so i do put a lot of miles on them, but i was shocked that they only lasted 6 months. I did enjoy them, the fit is nice and they look great. I’m gonna try wildlings and zero’s. hope they last longer than the vivo’s. $150 is way too much for me to spend every 6 months.
FUN L1F3...thanks for telling us your story. 2 inch. holes after 6 months? Crazy!
I suggest putting the laces through the last wholes, makes even more of a difference!
Cheers GF!
This was a well made video. Thanks for the feedback! Subscribed :)
Thanks Nathan...and thanks for the sub!
Great review in presentation, content and style. Th rating system is effective. Thank you. BTW, I agree, a more subdued colour combo would be a great option for walking about town.
Thanks for watching! Appreciate the feedback!
I bought my 12 yr grandson same pair but a size 5 1/2 in blue!
Best shoes Ever + I got them ONSALE
Of course now Nike is out & no clue when the blue will return!
Not sure on other apps to purchase these? Any advice?
Glad you guys are enjoying them so much. They are a smaller shoe company so you just have to wait until they make more. I went through the same thing.
Just wore my zeros first time today. They are great.
Awesome Corn. Enjoy!
Sounds like you were made for barefoot shoes. Let me know if you end up getting a pair of Xeroshoes and if you like them or not!
I was thinking about getting a pair of Xero shoes, only to find that their website (UK) was being overhauled: perhaps they have taken your advice!
There was something charming about their old website...it was very janky, and looked home made, but it worked. With all their success, they probably decided it was time to step up their game.
Going to grab my first pair thanks to this review.
Let me know what you think of them!
Great review!
@robertstone2841, thanks!
Hello. Did you size up in the HFS as recommended by Xero? I'm trying to get those but I'm not sure what size to order. Do you think they run short?
Angel K.N., I did size up from a 10 to a 10.5 and they fit well. However, if you want to be safe, order your same size and order a half size larger at the same time. You can always return the size that doesn't fit, but I do think you have to pay to ship it back...so make sure to read the "return policy" thoroughly!
Love my HFS Xero shoes. I can sprint much further than ever before....in fact, I've never been a sprinter really. :-) They make me feel like superwoman...kind of.:-) They are the best toys I've ever gifted myself with.
Eclectictomboy...I have to learn to sprint in them. Working on my technique and am envious of you!

Thanks for watching and glad it was helpful Dana White Top Team!
Moonstone, I appreciate the insight and tip about my achilles. I’ll look into that, cheers!
which vivo shoe lasted 5 years?
@@idepartasair is the Vivo Ra II men's suitable for running, sprinting, jumping?
@@incorectulpolitic I have done all of those things, BUT I am not a professional or even close to it. I am casually athletic and have had no trouble with them. I imagine that you'd see much more wear and tear if you are a serious athlete.
I have a ton of Xero shoes, including the HFS. It may be my favorite. It's between that or the Speed Force. I tried Vivo....it was okay. I found the sizing a bit off...my usual size 13 was a tad too long. Only minor issue I had in the HFS was the insole started sliding up toward my toes in the left shoe....I eventually just took it out.
Thanks Brian. I'll see what happens to my HFS's in 6 months!
I've got the Prios and liked them so much I just ordered the HFS so hopefully they live up to these
I've got like 15 pairs of Vivos and love for life for them but my next shoe will be this mfs.. nhs.. Thanks for the video
cool...let me know how it goes with the Xero shoes!
This was very helpful. Now how about an intermediate haul review before the long haul review?
Richard, thanks for watching and glad I could help. I'm going to wait until at least 6 months to review Xero, Barefoot, Vibram and now Merrell (review coming soon) and do a comparison between them all. The more time I have with them the better the review will be as I'm finding that I'm already wearing some more than others, and it's interesting to see what shoes I'm liking the best over time. So, thanks in advance for being patient and stay tuned!
Are these available in stores? With that return policy, I'd like to try them on first.
Kyle...I saw this "store locator" tab on their website. Check it out. xeroshoes.com/stores/
@@FitnessFinance4u Thank you very much! There is a place in Burbank and I'm in Venice!
I have the same problem. Some minimalist shoes are not wide enough for me. SoftStar Primal shoes are the widest I know of.
Thanks for the review. :) I'm working to transition to barefoot shoes and got the Vivo Primus Lite 3 a few months ago. Looking to see how they fare vs Xero, so this is just what I was looking for. In terms of sizing vs Vivo, do they run about the same?
Great Bryan. It will be interesting to see which shoe you like the best. I used Xero shoes sizing chart and it worked well for me.
I love my Xero's, but there are also Lem's if you want something a little more business. I have Lem 1/4 ankle boots. but all my running shoes and sandals are Xero's!
Right on Amaphis...i'll check those out.
@@FitnessFinance4u they are but more pricey which is why I only use them for work.
Are they breathable? Cuz I remember trying the xero prios and they were very hot to wear in this summer.
G L, I have found them to be breathable, but I live in CA where it doesn't get too humid.
I had the same feeling about the colors. The women's hfs comes in a light grey but the only one in my size was the atoll blue which is super bright for me so I just went for it. 😅
Sounds like everyone wants the light grey!!! 🤣
@@FitnessFinance4u It's more comfortable on the eyes, ya know.
I just received a pair of HFS in red and the overall package of the shoes themselves, fit/finish, are very nice.
My personal cons:
The shoe laces are definitely too short.
Sweet...thanks for the update and notes. Let me know what you think in 90 days?
I tried a Xero shoe. It was pitched up in the front sole, dorsiflexing my ankle and hyperextending my knee, so I sent them back. I want a FLAT shoe with ZERO degrees dorsiflexion. I'll keep looking.
Thank you for the video!
I appreciate you checking it out!
What size are you in Nike vs Xero? Not sure I'm going to have a chance to try them on before buying so doing some research to be sure.
jcrowd92...my Nike Zoom Pegasus are size 11 US, and the XeroShoes HFS are 10.5 US and they fit perfectly. Hope that helps?
@@FitnessFinance4u 100% does thank you!
I have a pair that I absolutly love. They are the best shoes I have ever had. I lift weights and believe in minimalist shoes for better balance and posture. With refular shoes that have xtra foam and rubber they tend to make the ankles want to roll not xero shoes.
Also they do have a white pair now.
Thanks entropi0666...so glad they have white now!
6 months is today ;)
HASHGRAPHUM...thanks for keeping me honest!
did you have the same shoe size for vivo and xeo or was one more little or big then the other one ?
thanks for your reply :)
Marcel, my Xeroshoes are 1/2 size bigger than my Vivobarefoot shoes. I ordered a 10 (43) for Vivobarefoot, and a 10.5 (43-44) for my Xeroshoes.
@@FitnessFinance4u thanks for the fast reply and a good day
How this shoes could help if you have flat feet or there is some other issues to your feet? One different then the other for instance?( has one almost flat and no the other.
Adriana, that’s a good question. I would consult a podiatrist or a physical therapist, who specializes in feet, before trying these if you have flat feet.
How would they work after foot (toe) surgery after six weeks in a surgical shoe?
Paula...good question. Best to talk to your doctor or a podiatrist about that one.
why does your polo thisrt look so perfect? 🙂
Thanks B W. That is a Mac Weldon polo. I never iron it. Just wash it, throw it in the dryer for 15 mins on low, and hang it to dry. I’m pretty happy with them!
Great video
Thanks Atypical Paul!
I need a pair of steel toed shoes in ladies 7 1/2 3 wide.
Can you provide?
🤣...I'll do some research Bonnie!
Cheers.
okay...what is that song at 6:15? too cool and I want to run to it!

So the company has a 5000 mile return policy but bring it back perfect😂😂😂😂😂
Yes, that's a bit difficult...
I'm sure that's because they intend/want to sell returned/exchanged shoes to another consumer in pristine conditon
Comparisons to any running shoes from topo athletic?
Kenneth...I haven't heard of topo...I'll have to look into them...
If wore those shoes and then played football games in cleats would I have feet problems?
Hmmm ChubbyPuppy85, that's a good question. I'm not really qualified to answer that, as I'm not a foot doctor or foot specialist. However, there are some great videos out there on RUclips that show you how to transition from regular trainers to zero drop shoes. Check them out before you go 100% zero drop. I hope that helps?
Curt, do they fit pretty close to true size?
Yes they do...
I’ve had both shows from both brands. Xero fit better and are way more durable. The vivo shoes started to separate at the glue line in a week. Returned them.
Interesting Lain. I'll have to see how my Xero Shoes and Vivobarefoot shoes do in the next 6 months or so and do a follow up video.

Thanks Matthew!
Laguna Bro =) Hi and Thank You.
Hello 😃...you must have recognized the locations!
I appreciate your research into the company and enjoy your voice. However the super upbeat music is jarring when it comes in solo. I think you should tone it down to the volume level that you have it while you’re talking over it.
Appreciate the feedback
What shoe do you have rated at 10/10
JT Garcia...still searching for that one!
@@FitnessFinance4u lol same
I don’t like how any of these look sadly. Vivos look nicer to me. In this video they do look a bit better though. I think the site is kinda out of date looking and the pictures don’t seem to do them justice.
Michael m...the shoes do look better in person. I thought the same thing when I first saw them on their site.
Is Marcus Filly your relative? 😁😁
SavageLifter, I looked up Marcus Filly, because I didn't know who he was. After finding him online, I have to say I'm flattered. Yes, we both have long hair, but he is in much better shape than me. Maybe one day I can be in as good of shape as he is. Also, I just cut my hair, so the comparison might be over 🤣
❤
Thanks for watching!
10:37 The actual review.
I work in a grocery store and wonder how these would do standing for 8 hours.
Thank you!
@@youngkimmy40 My hairdresser started to wear Vivo's recently and swears by them, she is on her feet at least 8 hours a day.
@@snuscaboose1942 oh thank you! I’m going to get some!
But can someone market themselves to align to your own values to sell their items?🤔
Yes they can, and that's good to bring up!
The one thing keeping me away from them is other then one shoe they do not really have shoes that you can wear to work. I would have to go with another shoe just because of this.
John, I like Xero Shoes for running, but my everyday pairs are Vivobarefoot. They have a lot of nice looking shoes for work, going to events, etc.
Bummed you had to go through that mrazik131.
what's the song at 9:46
KP Delaney...unfortunately, one of my back up drives that had the Xero Shoes video on it crashed and I can't find that song. I got it from the Epidemic Sound website, which is a stock website I use for all my videos. I tried to find by going through my history of downloads, but I downloaded it last June, and after a bit of searching, couldn't find it. So sorry. If it pops up again on my reco list, I'll let you know!
@@FitnessFinance4u you're fine; thanks so much for checking!
Made with cowrid?
What is cowrid S. M. Painter?
Cow hide
🤣
Ok, lets rank the shoe in my scale of 8's "infinity" 😂
🤣
They are the same as all other barefoot shoes so far, as long as you actually use them they'll last, but as soon as you start to walk in them daily they'll be done in about 6 months.
don't use them i mean :)
Con: Shoes are priced similar to Nike, NB and other reputable shoe manufacturers.
nealrutgerskid...unfortunately, yes. After paying for shipping they tend to be around the same price. Also, paying for returns is not fun.
Don’t buy the canvas shoes. Didn’t last more than a few months before tearing apart. Horrible quality.
Ben, I have had my HFS for almost 5 months now, and so far, so good. But I'll see how they do after a year.
Is this a paid review?
xGUDDAx if you are asking "did I get paid for this"...no! I bought and reviewed these on my own.
@@FitnessFinance4u Thanks for the honesty.
This isn't a review, it's a commercial.
Thanks for the info Nabranes TwistyPuzzler
Why would u crease ur shoes 🤦♂️
Ha...I had to show their flexibility amazing shooter!
I have a feeling the founder has ADHD..A man of all traits
😂
Xero .. worst quality ever .. sent back immediately .. Altra, Freet and many others way, way, way better
what company do you recommend for zero drop shoes?
Steve has marketed cheap shit chinese shoes that should retail for 25 bucks a pair. They are made of cheap materials.
Umberto...so far my Xero Shoes have held up well. I'm going to do a follow up in a few months to see how they are doing.
That's what turned me off Xero's, where they are manufactured.
Umberto, which brand do you recommend?

@@incorectulpolitic I'm happy with Vevo they make a good shoe that doesn't threaten to nuke my country.
