    Super excited to see what you do with this bike. I just picked up an Astral Green one and have been patiently waiting to see what aftermarket parts come out. I agree with everything that you are planning on changing/upgrading. Love the exhaust but I think I'll wait till you release the down pipe too as it looks odd with the chrome. Keep up the great work and props to getting parts out already!

    That rear indicator and mud-guard set you removed actually added more character to the Bike's styling. Even though they're plastic they are high quality pvc plastic which is durable and robust. I personally won't remove these rear fenders on my Super Meteor

    Good job here. Two things, the finned gizmos on the header pipes look like an afterthought, would have been better closer to the motor. And, that R E emblem on the right side cover looks like it came out of a comic book.

    • @Disposalist

      I'm not a fan of the 'new' emblem either. Looks like Royal Enfield for kids heh. A lot of the styling is neither classic nor modern - looks like bad 70s when they were trying to look 'modern'.
      Overall I still love the bike, but some odd choices!

    Nice one, so glad you mentioned the seat height, when I sat on the bike recently it was definitely taller than most other cruiser type bikes I've ridden, Adjustable gear and back brake positioning similar to the Kawasaki Vulcan 650 would also be an upgrade. Nice video and nice mods for SM650. I just got my SM650 last week and it's a joy to ride. I'm interested in the exhaust, but I will give the factory ones a chance for the rest of this season.
    Is there a chance that you may design a replacement for the foot shift lever? I will buy one instantly. I find the factory one poor designed, like is a bit far right from the normal foot position and the rubber head is to small and sometimes I search for it when changing gears.
    Looking forward on a new video with mods for the SM650. Great job so far!

    Questions! -
    1 - Can the Super Meteor forks be transferred to the GT Continental? I like the idea of USD forks on the sportier model!
    2 - Can the Super Meteor pipes be transferred to the Interceptor, in order to create a lower pipe exit and make room for larger throw-over bags? (Pea-shooter style silencers would be much nicer too!)
    3 - Is the tank swappable with the Interceptor's frame? (from a customiser's perspective)
    I've never been a fan of "feet first" motorcycles, so the Meteor and now the new Super Meteor don't really "do it" for me! However, they COULD contribute significantly to the options list for "parts bin" customisers?
    Love what you guys do, and I await every feature with excitement!

    • @georgemilburn6213
      @georgemilburn6213 Год назад +1

      I have not measured it up yet, but doubt that they will be bolt on as the frame and geometry is all different.
      The exhaust would require modification to fit also as mounting points are different.
      I am surprised that the latest update of the interceptor does not use the new switchgear .but they would probably be easily modified to swap over. We will probably have to wait for the mark 2 for that update.

    • @black8art
      @black8art Год назад

      Using the Super Meteor headers would solve the unwanted upsweep of the exit pipes? Wouldn't an aftermarket "peashooter" follow a horizontal line like the OG exhaust?

    Would the polished engine cases off the interceptor fit? Rear shocks look better than intercptor. Front end of tank looks weird looks as if its sitting too far back. Also rear brake pedal and gubbins look crap. Needs spoked wheels as well.

    • @georgemilburn6213
      @georgemilburn6213 Год назад +1

      As far as I can tell the interceptor cases are the same. As we say we feel the same about the foot control area and we are working on this now.
      I have done a few hundred testing miles on the bike now, since making the video. I feel the shocks are a big improvement in comfort over the Interceptor shocks. But most testing done in cold and wet conditions ,so not been able to explore the handling fully yet.

  • @Disposalist
    @Disposalist Год назад

    Great to hear your thoughts, thanks.
    Any ideas on the speedo? I like the bike, but those look terrible to my eyes - neither classic nor modern - like bad 70s design. Blue numerals, bright red needle, black-on-grey LCD and asymmetric Tripper (that I won't be using) with a mismatching 'font' for the clock.
    I'm guessing replacing the main unit would be tough, but a delete of the Tripper and some a metal housing would be good? (though I just noticed the ignition is off-centre so... difficult).
    Interested to see your tail changes. I didn't mind the original too much, but the number plate does look even more of a huge ugly flap in the original configuration, so the change is good overall.
    I'd be interested on your thoughts about maybe waiting for another iteration of the bike? I'm not too familiar with RE, but though this bike seems good quality, it feels like a lot of the design choices were... rushed? A bit more thought (the next version) might address some of the weirdnesses?

    • @georgemilburn6213
      @georgemilburn6213 Год назад +1

      It could be done as it does not look to be CANBUS like most bikes, I know that some people have replaced the tripper with a tachometer on Meteor 350. I think that would be easy and more use to me than the tripper.

No thought has gone into the size of the gear lever should someone have more than a size 7 shoe size and the break lever is to close to the footpeg for larrger feet.
