considering this was going to be on the fox engine, it’s a shame they didn’t implement this gameplay for raiden when ever he was in MGSV.
It would probably have taken more resources than it's worth to implement the cutting system for just two skins(raiden and grey fox). Probably not as easy as copy and paste tech wise. And I mean, they were already stretched on resources as it was considering just how completely bare bones the side ops are. I honestly think they should have scrapped mgo3 and fobs in favor of more cool stuff like this and maybe even coop.
Raidens saving sunny would have been an amazing story for raiden

Ah I remember seeing this! The game looked great using the Fox Engine.
It was a damn shame they ran into some technical difficulties before being handed over to Platinum Games to develop. There was a documentary of it somewhere. They had to switch the engine because Platinum Games wanted to use their own engine because they were familiar with it and work faster with it. And in order to make it action packed, the script had to be rewritten so that it wouldn't be a cutscene fest and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was born. Though the graphics were downgraded so much than what was seen here. That demo still looks great.
It's kinda sad to see this again.

what do you mean they downgraded the graphics? that car in the beginning looks like its from a ps2 game and raiden doesnt even have detailed muscle fibers like he does in revengeance. yall just making up your own head canon. You can also slice water melons and parts of the environment in revengeance. I dont understand how anyone can look at this gameplay and say its different from the finished product except they increased the difficulty so you dont just one hit enemies like you do in this demo.

I hope if we get a sequel for mgr, it will be more like this version
Should be a prequel. There's still Raiden saving sunny from the patriots without his enhanced body at all. Then seeing how he became a cyborg

@@erikrivera5946 wasnt mgsV enough for you.Kojima always likes to stretch out the story more and more and this would just ruin the story even more.Riden in mgs4 was enough, Rr was good but it was already finished and prefect in mgs4.

This was the most heartbreaking, misleadingly trailer of all time. I still enjoy the game that came out but this was a fever dream, fan service come to life. Basically playing as a super hero in metal gear and the cutscenes... I was looking forward to them. I love mgs4.
People keep saying they want metal gear rising 2, but I just want metal gear solid: rising lightning bolt action

The 2011 beta was real but then they switched it all up
It would be cool as heck if they just decided to revive Metal Gear Rising as a next gen experience to both serve as an unlikely prequel to Revengence and as a potential testrun for new concepts to be implemented in Revengence 2. But that would require them to actually still care and I kinda doubt it. They had one singular L releasing a game the audience didn't like and then they just dropped the entire IP like a rock. According to the wiki, the only substancial things they did with it after that was releasing the soundtracks of MGS1, the MSX games and the NES games.
You do realize this is an ENTIRELY different game from “Revengence” right? This was the original Metal Gear Rising, which was canceled and then Platinum Games made Revengence.
So I’m not really sure how it’s “misleading”.
It's strange that so far no one has leaked the beta and other early versions metal gear rising.

I don’t think there was a beta at all. They basically spend their entire budget on the cutting technology and this tech demo. in interviews with Kojima he was very frustrated that the team could not come up with good gameplay. I think if they continued with this the break even point would have been a ridiculous amount of copy’s to be sold. At least he went to platinum games to deliver a game for the fans that waited for so long.
all they had was pretty much was we saw in the video it was only made into a tech demo
It was revealed recently with a "did you know gaming" video that the "gameplay" video is completely pre-rendered
I think i ever Kojima get a final chance to make 1 only Metal Gear Solid game, i definitely want MGS Raiden in the first priority to develop. The fact that this concept was truly fresh and satisfying to play with, i think Kojima (which he always love a chalenge) will make this game absoulutely amazing. He can add some eastern egg or 'gameplay surprise' where we are able to play with Big Boss to cover the unfinished story in MGSV and for the Raiden itself he can fill the gap with the proper story just like what he wanted before. So the Metal Gear Solid will be the perfect franchise and become a legacy in video game industry.
Thanks for making this, still hopefull for the revival of this game...

Dammit, I really wanted to see what the original story would have been. It was suppose to take place between MGS2 and MGS4, with raiden saving sunny from the patriots, and then getting turned into a cyborg by the patriots. It would have been really cool to see how that story played out! 😫
The scrapped MGS: Rising should be in the MGR sequel as part prequel part sequel.

MGR's character design, physics engine and storyline are KojiPro, but the "attitude" is Clover/Platinum, just like God Hand, Bayonetta, Mad World, Max Anarchy, Vanquish (along with obviously the gameplay). I wonder if it was KojiPro or Platinum who came up with the edgy name "Revengeance"

Interesting. It'd be awesome if this type of MGR game became a thing. I don't mind the exaggerated PlatinumGames style, but I can see why people would've preferred this. It feels way more grounded. Honestly the extreme exaggeration in the final game is what makes it a cult classic to begin with. Can you imagine MGR without the goofiness?

I still sit here believing that Rising should have been a ps4/Xbox one game considering how the graphics looked. It is a shame they released it on old gen and didn’t take advantage of the fox engine.
*if this was released after mgs4 remaster, had this exact gameplay and a great parkour system, I'll forgive them for the bs version we ended up with that's a parallel universe full of clowning around.*
And yes, give us all the cutscenes. It was a TREAT getting to cutscenes in mgs4. Especially during the weed smoking parts of my life.

MGS4 is a iconic timeless classic and raidens cutscenes are absolutely gorgeous. This, THIS, looks like the mgs CANON raiden we NEED.

Revengeance is still great, but this would’ve been great too
Although it couldn’t beat the meta commentary in Revengeance‘s soundtrack combined with all the bosses and raiden
what the game is popular and still getting more popular till this day and it's a masterpiece of I say but I can't deny that it should've been on fox engine other than that I don't care about how Raiden became a cyborg or whatever the story they wanted the story is great as it is
