@@ThreeEyedTheorist it could have been avoided if Robb kept it in his pants and kept his oath. But then again, who knows how genuine Walder was about it
@@ThreeEyedTheorist I think it was TheFandome who went into detail about it, saying Robb should have asked to have the marriage right then and there, to test Walder's loyalty.
@evan-bunch-of-numbers I feel on the fence about it. Robb definitely should've kept it in his trousers and honored his oath to the Freys; but I also think Walder would've still betrayed Robb anyways just as soon as it looked like Robb might not beat the Lannisters and Tyrells. If he couldn't help but bed Jane Westerling, then he should've made the hard decision to cut Jane loose and honor his more strategically important oath to Walder. Ned had to sacrifice his honor for the greater good, and so too should Robb. He just needs to be ready for Frey betrayal, and be prepared with a backup plan to topple Walder and install a pro-North Frey in his place.
@chazzeo it's why Robb should have requested to have the marriage immediately. If the offer is genuine, no problems arise and everyone's happy. If it isn't, then Walder is either forced to go through with it, or backpedals, revealing to all his true intentions and being relieved of the Twins, who might go to his son, Robb's squire
The one change that I think would make a lot of sense is Robb Stark placing his former squire, the Frey son who acted honorably and came to warn him of the treachery, on the throne of the Twins as the new Lord of House Frey. That would allow for an easier transition for the vassals of House Frey into the Kingdom of the North and help secure the route north against the Lannisters, who would still be somewhat of a threat even with Tywin dead.
I kind of assumed that happened off-screen. It was the most obvious play and honor demanded it as well, given he saved Robb's/his wife's/his baby/and mother's life with that crucial information.

If I had written it, I would have made it so that Roose KNOWS he is risking to be sent to the wall and tries everything to avoid it, ultimately failing
I like the part of Roose rebelling again even after joining the Watch. It reminds me of a story from Fire and Blood. After the defeat of the Faith militant hundreds of their members were sentenced to the Wall. Many of them rebelled against the Watch and went north of the Wall to make common cause against the Watch with the Wildings. However the wildlings aren’t interested in allying with southern religious fanatics (the wildlings worship the old gods not the Seven). The Wildlings sent the heads of the rebels to Castle Black.
That would be an interesting spinoff movie for HBO to release! But that would only work if there is an actual movie about King Maegor and the Faith Militants. To then make a spinoff about what happened to the Faith Militants and the Night Watch and the uprising by Olyvar Bracken and Raymund Mallery who were former kingsguards of Maegor, and the battle(s) by Walton Stark against the Faith Militants. And the subsequent fleeing of Mallery and remaining rebels beyond the wall to be slain (and eaten) by the Wildlings! Could be epic!

Although it also depends on the resources they have available but, sieges are long and expensive, especially when it takes place in the brutal north
Great video but I don't think any Northern lord would sully their honour and aid a renegade such as Roose Bolton, especially as he is allied to the most savage of Wildlings. The vast majority of Northern Lords are loyal to the Starks and would never openly betray them.
I enjoyed the first act as it felt authentic and similar to GRRMs voice. The choice to have Robb’s loyal and dutiful squire Olivar Frey warn of the Frey/Bolton/Lannister conspiracy was a GREAT decision. It’s not even a reach really, bc I think if Olivar knows or even thinks it’s a possibility for Robb to be backstabbed, his squire warns him for sure. After you went past the treachery at the twins, it wasn’t as thoughtfully laid out or “realistic”. One thing that I did like was how you had the remnants of the defeated forces from all the previous conflicts (Karstark, wildlings, freys, nights watch deserters, iron born, etc) rallying behind a common banner to try and get revenge on Robb/Jon…it would’ve been great if it wasn’t Roose but rather Ramsay or maybe another villain. That was a great idea. It annoyed me that you don’t mention that Robb for some reason is willing to relinquish his crown and kingdom of the north/Riverlands and bends the knee to STANNIS? But why? Where was Stannis the entire time. Why wouldn’t he ha relinquish his crown and kingdom of the north/riverlands and bend the knee to the until then never mentioned Stannis? WHAT? Last positive note is most of the dialogue was well written, but some other commenter pointed out that Roose wouldn’t wax poetic about songs and they’re right. 6.8/10 it was fun
I honestly think that Robb simply wouldn't bend the knee to Stannis, even I really don't think that Stannis could won, his army was destroyed after the Battle of Blackwater, and the Tyrell themselves are in fact Stannis enemies...I think Robb would remain as a king until his death, maybe in the wars who come after the WotFK.
I think that Robb wouldn't bend the knee to Stannis, instead I think that Robb would be followed the search of the independence of the North, but thats only an oppinion. Good video, this is a very likely scenario of what would happen if Robb prevent the Red Wedding, although this omits Daenerys and the White Walkers. Although, seeing more far in this scenario, I think that the army of Stannis would not be able to stop Daenerys, needing the Tyrells in all moment to defend himself and his crown, at least during the time who achieves the reconstruction of his army, and this supposing that the Tyrell won't betraye him, because they are in fact Targaryen loyalists, and also is Dorne, all of this without even speaking about dragons...if the war between the Westeros under Stannis command and Daenerys and her dragons and army will not over before the time when the White Walkers break the wall, then Westeros is simply fucked.
Especially when Stannis has no significant army and no support from South, it would make no sense for Robb to bend the knee to Stannis who is just a commander not a politician. If it was Renly instead Stannis, Robb could use Renly as a politician even if Renly didn't have an army but Stannis is just nuisance if he has no army and if has no support from South.
You need to go a bit deeper when it comes to army movements, battle tactics and perhaps singling out minor characters and how theyd react. When these videos are about 30 minutes and more thorough then theyll really take off. Cant wait to see you fly, this is like early Majorkill in regards to warhammer lore.
And whats with the tyrells? they want Arya to get a shot at taking winterfell politically but Robb aint dead and with them on their side he has the swords required to win the war, being an unbeatable battle commander why would they assume Arya gets them winterfell? Why would Robb allow all types of Wildlings to cross? The Thenns could be made a minor house they current number of soldiers being 200 (400 if they come unscatched across the wall), perhaps some chosen minor tribes but if he allowed all of them in thats a bigger political suicide than being caught sword swallowing. Solution would be that Ramsay takes eastwatch and then we have the worst wildlings shipped over.
I honestly haven't been invested in a story like that in a while. Though I do have some constructive criticism. They way you wrote Roose Bolton felt a bit off. Roose is a very practical man, and I don't think giving him the line about how songs persist was in character. Roose literally married a woman based on how much gold it would give him. But everything after Rob came to help the Night's Watch was brilliant.
that's a fair point, although I thought having rob acknowledge that and asking him what he wants, and then roose responding to be sent to the wall instead of being executed, was a good representation of that. Did you think that wasn't enough of a showing?
@ThreeEyedTheorist No that was totally in character. I only meant that Roose being the one to say the tale of treachery be made into a song and spread was a little out of character. Rob mentioned something about sending word so you could have had him be the one to bring up having the tale made into a song. Rob Stark does love his inspiring speeches after all.
@ hmm that’s a fair point. In my head I thought robs honor wouldn’t allow him to even conceive the thought and would have to be given to him, but I can see the angle for sure
@ThreeEyedTheorist He has used deception in the past using false information to deceive Tywin. Also his honor is suspect. He did break a vow given in good faith by marrying Talisa instead of one of Frey's daughters. He isn't his father and stronger for it.
Robb bending the knee to Stannis was probably a smart decision, since he'll be allowed to rule Winterfell anyway just as lord paramount, the only thing I don't see happening is Arya being married off to the Tyrell boy,for starters he's only a 2nd son so they wouldn't gain much from it and also I think Robb loves Arya too much to let her go,especially considering his already lost Sansa,Bran and Rickon...
Stannis bending the knee to King Robb at that point would be better. Stannis had basically no army and no territory in South and West at that point we also know Stannis has no ability for politics as well. Having Stannis in the North as King while Stannis has no support from South would be just a nuisance to Northern people and Stannis would want to use Robb's northern army to fight for his battles in the South instead of defending the North. If Stannis allows himself to be a puppet king and let Robb handle things in the North then that would make sense but we know Stannis wouldn't accept to be a puppet king as well so he would be a nothing but hindrance for the North when North already has their king. If Stannis was Renly, even without his south army, Renly would be useful as a politician but Stannis is just a commander with no army and claiming that he should be the king no one else, basically not useful for them instead harmful for them.
I fee like Robb doing that kinda go against his character BUT its also could have been an interesting development for his character. I imagine there would be symbolism that signifies Robb losing his sense of honor, like when Sansa’s direwolf dies and she lost her innocence. Robb’s direwolf could die fighting the Frey outside Robb learning to actually play the game of politics and intrigue would have been exciting to see.
If I could change one thing I would change Stannis I think he could still move north and he and Robb could surround the Wildlings and come to some sort of deal
Its been too long since i watched GoT Now youve started doing whatifs for it i should rewatch soon and refresh my memory Excited to see what you come up with
What if Robert found out about Jon's true parentage? How would Ned react if Robert wants him dead. Who would Jon Ayrrn side with? Other houses? I have wanted this what if played out so bad for years!
Really depends when he would find out. If he's a small child there are other options to killing him, and as an adult he is in the Nights Watch. He's not even the only Targ there.
loving your videos my only question is are these what ifs based on book or show canon as it seems they spill over a lot with victarion and willas existing but Asha being Yara
we try to add details from the books, but if theres conflicting information between the book and the show, I felt making it like the show would be better for the overall viewing experience
Great What If story. I have a few complaints, Stannis is nowhere to be seen, in the original he went to the North due to his sense of duty, Robb being alive and already helping wouldn't change that decission, his abssence in the conflict also makes Robbs final decision to bend the knee to him very questionable, why would he submit to a southern king who abandoned the North when they needed him the most? It also would have been nice to see Robb showing his judgment to Theon, the friend who backstabbed him, attacked and sacked his home and murdered his brothers.
This is like the third fairly new channel that has done what if song of ice and fire that Ive found in the last week or so and I'm thoroughly happy lol These what ifs really remind me of the old what if X-Men comics and I love that shit and I'm a song of ice and fire whore so best of both worlds \( ゚ヮ゚)/ Huzzah! And I will say all three channels including this one I found all do what ifs drastically different. The first one our hilts hurt they have a tongue in cheek conversation between two dudes and like logically go through what the different outcomes are and then decide which one they like the best. There's another guy I forgot his channel it's a long name he goes through the story and goes okay this is what I'd like to change and then he kind of makes up his own story and does in world facts but he kind of puts his own stuff on it. And then there's this one that is just straight up what possibly can make sense and it's in world story right off the bat not just a RUclipsr talking this is like in book conversation happening. Which I'm really liking so far
What if the Vale kicked out Lysa and rode to join Robb. When I play Ck2 or Ck3 game of thrones mod. I head cannon that Cat gave a great speech and Bronze Royce takes command of the Vale. “Sends Lysa Home” and bends the knee to Robb
Robb is goddam tactical genius. I doubt Roose Bolton would be dumb enough to try to rebel, with mostly a bunch of wildlings, no less. Wildlings, he couldn't control and aren't that good in a pitched battle (with no armor, good weapons, horses, training or tactics...) In fact, the scenario where he's sent to the wall is shaky. If there's no proof, he should get away with it, or if there's danger, he would probably just flee to the south...
Why wouldn't Stannis still go North in this scenario? Does he know that Robb is already supporting the Night's Watch? If not I can see him still going North since his logic wouldn't change
Stannis' goal was getting more troops as well. With Robb being alive and going North, it's very unlikely for him to try to march North. Instead, he'd most likely try to hire more sells words and dig in.
I think these are really well done and great, but many character flaws that landed these characters in hot water don't disappear once a plot or ruse has failed. Roose and Tywin are still much more cunning and Robb Stark is still green, good enough at war but inexperienced in politics. I really don't believe the story would end faster or more positively if Robert Baratheon survives or the Red wedding fails etc. For example, if Robert Baratheon survives, if anyone would be able to break the news about his kids being bastards, it would be Ned, but Robert, the hot head, would be just as likely to go into a fit of blind rage directed at Ned or maybe even believe Ned but do something rash like kill Joffrey and Cersei himself brutally, turning the common folk and anyone on the fence politically against him. I mean normal men go crazy at news like that and Robert is an entitled king who literally loves violence and hates being disrespected. I really love these, but I think you need to take the main characters' flaws more seriously. Also, some negative what-ifs would be amazing, like what if Jaime took Riverru,n or what if Daenerys was as cruel as Viserys. Just my 2 cents, I love these keep it up

Robb’s direwolf could die fighting the Frey outside
Robb learning to actually play the game of politics and intrigue would have been exciting to see.
If I could change one thing I would change Stannis I think he could still move north and he and Robb could surround the Wildlings and come to some sort of deal
These are great man
appreciate you!
How are you putting these out so quickly??? These are awesome!!
Got a system in place 😃
Correction : Robb tries to decapitate Roose, who turns into a swarm of bats and flies off into the night
hahaha
Sweeeeet! Your voice work is amazing btw.
thank you!!!
what if Bran remembered who pushed him after the fall.
Excellent video again
thanks!!!
Its been too long since i watched GoT
Now youve started doing whatifs for it i should rewatch soon and refresh my memory
Excited to see what you come up with
Haha I’m doing the same exact thing!
This was so good bro thank you
gotchu sam, it'll keep being good too!!😎
@@ThreeEyedTheorist my man! live for this shizz haha
i like this what if
Very good video well done
Thanks !!
Awesome video as always! I'd love to see a video if Sir Arthur Dayne killed Ned Stark at the Tower of Joy, even if Robert won
i put it on the list!
@ThreeEyedTheorist Yaaaaay!!
@@Litany_of_Fury I'm talking right after the wars over when Ned brings him home.
@@sarcasticsid5589 Jon Arryn would side with Ned, Robert would be making the same demands as the Mad they rebelled against.
This actually makes a lot of sense
Followed 👌
Glad you liked it !
After seeing so much what if crossovers, I can't wait to see what you are going to do with Games of Throne.
Time will tell 🥹
loving your videos my only question is are these what ifs based on book or show canon as it seems they spill over a lot with victarion and willas existing but Asha being Yara
we try to add details from the books, but if theres conflicting information between the book and the show, I felt making it like the show would be better for the overall viewing experience
Lol, I had just asked this question on your last video. Didn’t know you already had one ready
responded saying i did :)
Wow, maybe you should rewrite the last seasons. Great story.
Thinking about making videos for that too 👀
I second that!
Yes Game of thrones what if. Sub again.
What if Joffrey died sooner? Would Robb bend the knee to Tommen with Joffrey dead? Would Tywin return to the Captial with the kings death?
Great What If story.
I have a few complaints, Stannis is nowhere to be seen, in the original he went to the North due to his sense of duty, Robb being alive and already helping wouldn't change that decission, his abssence in the conflict also makes Robbs final decision to bend the knee to him very questionable, why would he submit to a southern king who abandoned the North when they needed him the most?
It also would have been nice to see Robb showing his judgment to Theon, the friend who backstabbed him, attacked and sacked his home and murdered his brothers.
This is like the third fairly new channel that has done what if song of ice and fire that Ive found in the last week or so and I'm thoroughly happy lol
These what ifs really remind me of the old what if X-Men comics and I love that shit and I'm a song of ice and fire whore so best of both worlds \( ゚ヮ゚)/ Huzzah!
Yes I’ve seen them both! They do great jobs, I just like to do story style and get the viewer fully immersed into it :) glad you’re enjoying it !
@@ThreeEyedTheorist I agree full immersion, I really enjoyed that style of storytelling.
That was great.
A comment to the algorithm gods.
🫡🫡 we appreciate you service
10/10 ♥️
Where was Stannis in fight against wildlings?
Why would he when he knows the King of the North would aid the wall. He would strike one enemy to just then fight another.
My only problem with this is that Robb didn't ask Olena to send him Ice as well
Ice had since been melted down by that point i think.
ya plus it was technically under Lannister possession so she wouldn't have been able to get it.
@@quadeong7453 if she could poison the king in his own castle I think she could steal a sword though I didn’t realize it was already melted down
What if the Vale kicked out Lysa and rode to join Robb. When I play Ck2 or Ck3 game of thrones mod. I head cannon that Cat gave a great speech and Bronze Royce takes command of the Vale. “Sends Lysa Home” and bends the knee to Robb
All he had to do was to do the right thing.
Great whatif
thanks!!
What if Jaime died instead of being captured by Rob?
Part 2 of Danny arriving
Robb is goddam tactical genius. I doubt Roose Bolton would be dumb enough to try to rebel, with mostly a bunch of wildlings, no less. Wildlings, he couldn't control and aren't that good in a pitched battle (with no armor, good weapons, horses, training or tactics...)
In fact, the scenario where he's sent to the wall is shaky. If there's no proof, he should get away with it, or if there's danger, he would probably just flee to the south...
What if Tyrein and his dad mended fences.
What if Jon snow looked targerian(white hair and such)
10:30
Is that Ed Sheeran? Was he actually in GoT?
Yes he was. It was a quick cameo though.
Wait isn’t Walder Frey Ovlyer father 😅. Isnt his mother a Rosby the 5/6 wife?
Dude you forgot stannis existed
Aren't battle and war the same thing ??
A war can go on for years and be made up of many battles. A battle is a single fight.
What happened to Sansa? She just kinda vanished after thr Purple Wedding.
Just my 2 cents, I love these keep it up
The only good bit about this video is your ai pronounces the names correctly… the story is average, at best
@@jamiebaker8017 no AI but thanks for the comment 🥹
Delete this video bro, Walder was always two steps ahead
But bro it’s a what if , where he’s not two steps ahead 👀
@ThreeEyedTheorist It's like making a what if water wasn't wet, Walder is that smart.
@ not smart enough to be alive though 😉 certainly not smart enough to think of the possibility his son , who he sent as a squire to Rob and was very loyal to him, wouldn’t suspect something and tell him. But , that’s just my opinion
@@ThreeEyedTheorist Smart enough to not wed his cousins, like some other families. Bro, Freys are winning the game of thrones. Trust me, I'm writing my own fan-fiction since George isn't gonna write anything.
