I had to wait seven months for Fuji to deliver my new black X100V in 2022 … paid the MSRP. It’s brilliant! I learned to shoot B&W film as a kid in the 60’s, then developed and printed it as a teen in the 70’s … now I seem to have come full circle all these years later taking monochrome photos with the X100V! I still take iPhone photos but the Fuji is on another level … definitely no regrets, it’s a keeper!

Holy smokes 7 months?! at least you didn't have to pay more than MSRP... bc I was not willing to do that! So glad you've had a great experience with it!

I’ve had both. I kept the x100v for the 35mm equivalent and the film simulations. I miss the Q, I still want an M… the Fuji will always stay though because of how small it is while still feeling like “real” camera. By the way, the magnification with the Fuji’s close focus is greater than the Q’s macro mode. Meaning, you can get closer with the Fuji than the Leica (unless you crop in with the Leica’s 47mp)

Picked up an X100 FinePix in similar style just for collection. The sensor, which was shared with the Fuji X-Pro1, provides outstanding, retro images. It’s a keeper.

I have and love my q2 that I’ve owned since 2019…I came across your video cuz I’m looking into getting my first Fuji (x100vi) as well. And yes the q2 is a heavy brick looking for something I can be “less careful” with. Thanks for this.

Keep doing these videos! Love the format! But include a photo walk or something towards the end!?

Absolutely!! Glad you liked this format bc we had fun with it!! Great suggestion about the photo walk… we would have for this one but it was too damn hot to video 😅😅😅

Great content - in the process of potentially moving from the X100V to a Q3....gave me a lot of food for thought.

You won't regret the shift... but as long as you keep being creative and pushing yourself either is phenomenal! Thanks for watching :)

There's definitely something more challenging to going out to shoot with a fixed lens camera. I had the X100 original, like Ben's, and this ultimately resulted in the purchase of the Sony RX1R (35mm FF) and the Leica Q2. Large sensors combined with superb lenses can produce wonderful images. I feel more involved in the creative process. OM Systems should release a PEN-F mk 2 - im sure it would sell in todays market.

I couldn't agree more! I 100% feel a fixed focal length (both the Q2 and my film cameras) has made me a better photographer. Every camera manufacturer should follow suit with Fuji and Leica... people are begging for the same experience!

I have the xt3 and I am so freaking frustrated with it, because I am from the medium format. I really thinking about Leica because the reputation and quality of the images. Thank you for sharing.

I have both and love them both…no regrets in spending for the Q2. I purchased the X100V at regular prices (lucky me!)! I’m selling my SL2s that literally I don’t need. Nice video Mallory…I’m starting to like you more and more! Be safe.. Cheers..

@@mallorydavisphotography I go back to the original X100 and loved them from the beginning, great cameras! A couple years ago I touched a Q2 and got glued in my hands… go figure! Dealer let me used a demo for the weekend and bought it next Monday,,, great camera probably the best I have used to my liking and style… no regrets! The problem…to many cameras ..so??😂😂. Be safe and keep producing videos.. Cheers..

I've owned both cameras. I currently have the Leica Q2M with all the color filters LOVE IT. There are so many you tube videos comparing the Leica Q2 to the Fuji X100 cameras. The Fuji X cameras are terrific I really like Fuji. That said there is no comparison between the Fuji and the Leica. The build quality and user experience and image quality is far superior with the Leica. YES the photographer makes all the difference

The 28mm summilux on the Q2 are not the same as the M 28mm summilux. The one the Q2 is digitally corrected to be look like summilux.

Ricoh for me. So compact with a wonderful lens.I still use the first 8.1 megapixel version with the wonderful CCD sensor.

I would instantly buy a leica Q with a fixed 35mm lens the 28 is just too wide for me i dont like it.

I have to agree!! 35mm might be my favorite focal length ... ok, i do love 50.. but 35 is fire!

I have owned 2 Fuji cameras in the past and now have a Leica M10-R and it does matter. The Leica photos are easier and faster to edit. I would spend hours and hours on Fuji photos editing because of the limitations the cameras have. They are terrible in low light and color shifting from the censors.

Great feedback!!! I have no experience with the Fuji so I'm actually glad to hear this... don't tell Ben though ;) I've almost got him ready to switch to Leica!
