- Kitguru is over at Computex 2024 in Taipei - today the gang had a look around the bequiet! booth - and bumped into a good friend of ours - The legendary Steve Burke of Gamersnexus. Leo and Steve had a good chat about feet. No seriously, we kid you not.

Thanks, Steve.
Back to you, Steve!
Thanks for the visit! We loved having you at the booth! Talking feet will become a thing now :D
Hey, hopefully you read this. Why not have the same ventilation pattern on the side panel as the front and top of these new Light Base cases? It would be significantly nicer aesthetically and the same foot mounting mechanism could be used. Everything else about these cases looks amazing. But this seems like an easy improvement that could be made to the case.
Thanks for having us !
I had a laugh at this. Leo and Steve have a good dynamic together. Always make me smile.
Good to hear. We all need a laugh
Hilarious and informative! Thank you Leo!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good video guys. I like your show coverage on Kitguru
Much appreciated!
Fantastic. One thing I'd like to see on the Light Base is a front fan set-up where-by the side mounting spots could be more used for water cooling gear (like a flat 140mm pump/res). Great video!
Thanks for the comment !
Love the ability to flip case orientation. Excellent coverage of the BeQuiet! stuff, sure.
Glad you liked it!
I must say, having the option to set up the case in three(!) different orientations simply by swapping the feet to different positions is absolutely brilliant. It's such a simple and elegant solution to this issue, you have to wonder why nobody else has thought of this before. Sometimes we're really blind to the obvious and I have massive respect for the guys at BQ for coming up with this.
I’m sure they will be happy to read your comment.
Home Run Leo, at the bequiet Computex Booth! Love those new case designs!
Had a spelling error on "bequiet"
Thanks !
I love the fact that that this case can be put in the "media PC" layout.
I have a CaseLabs Bullet BH8 (and previously owned a CaseLabs Mercury S8S) and while I love it, I gotta take out 14 screws just to get into it and it's not the most user friendly case to work in.
I think we need more cases that can be setup in a way that the motherboard is horizontal.
This looks incredible. Most case manufacturers design a system to look good from a particular angle. Be Quiet can make cases that looks different from any angle and in any orientation.
Thanks for the comment !
Leo and Steve @ Computex 2024...doesn't get much better than that - thanks guys!
Light base 600 horizontal layout WIN! It’s a frickin 1970s record player and I ❤ its Classic Vibes! Best case I’ve seen this year!
Oh man you are right ….
God. I love Bequiet. Every PC i build has a case, a power supply, fans from bequiet. I love this company.
That’s dedication !
I like that LB 600 sitting on its side. I've been on the hunt for a good horizontal or HTPC style case for a bit. Building a dedicated server eventually for a few indie style games on our discord, but also want it to double as an HTPC for light gaming in the living room and video streaming.
I may look into this here soon depending on when its available on the market.
Big fan of the horizontal case been looking for one to replace my old lian li v33 and looks like this is the winner
Steve Burke enters computex and just exudes aura
Come on. Leo has his aura too.😂
Oh dear lol
really like the way the horizontal layout looks. it kind of reminds me of the old Cooler Master HAF XB Evo case ...god I wish they'd make an updated version of that one. a nice kinda square shaped PC would be neat
After seeing that bequiet didn't forget about the 5.25 in some cases, i thought it was likely they would do something this simple as a solution, and that big cube is pretty much exactly what i am after, ill typically put a left to right air setup in it
Good to hear 👍🏻
I really like that the ports are on FRONT, I HATE TOP mounted ports!
Back to you Steve!
Steve Burke talks feet. 😅 what a title. Love it. .
I know, right?
Does it make sense to go for air cooling in the Light Base?
Black and orange colour combo works really well.
Have to admit that really does look nice. Usually prefer a white case as it reflects the RGB perfectly. But black and orange is a good combo.
With the size and weight of GPUs. I'd love to see more horizontal layout based PC cases.
I really like the black one with the rgb.
sadly its not really a bequiet case
@2:34 Steve looks like a little boy in that pose.
Poor Steve 🤐
Must say, I'm not a fan of these cases, or dual-chamber layout in general. I would like to see 802 successor, basically things I would like to see would be switch to Pure Wings 3 fans, simpler side panel design (those doors are nice but not necessary), removal of fan tray at the top (yes, you heard it right, its a feature that many praise, and while I do agree it helps with ease of installing the fans, it actually makes 420 incompatible at the top - actually this is also due to the side panel design, maybe even more so), also make PSU shroud removable.
Keep noise insulating side panels, high quality, understated yet tasteful design. Thats what I like about bequiet! cases, I don't want them to have yet another OD11 clone or flashy LEDs.
901 is a nice case, but I think it compromises with ODD tray, and there is no version without glass panel. You could still buy steel panel with sound insulation, but for extra cost.
Thanks for the detailed opinions.
honestly the cheaper power supply doesn't look so bad now that all the cables will be connecting to the back of the motherboard anyway.
tarantino would have liked to join the feet discussion
I mean... Glass, bulky and LEDs... I catches your attention at the show floor, but I ain't bringing it into my bedroom/office.
Hope to see some wood and MFF (mATX) cases. With sound dampening and good airflow.
Fractal, where are you at Computex? 😮
I have an 82" desk (208cm), (1.418 Davy Davito's) or (1 Lebron James) that will hold a light base 600 perfectly.
That light base horizontal layout is very unusual. Only problem is where the hell are you going to put it? Not exactly going to fit under the monitor is it?
My PC is under a Black & Decker workmate. Plenty of room there.
@@Safetytrousers On the floor? Is it a nice fancy glass case like that? I'd be terrified of scuffing it!
@@jamesjessenden7838 It's a Core P3 on its feet. The working parts are lifted and it's all open to the air. And you can't walk through a Black & Decker workmate.
@@jamesjessenden7838 It's a Core P3 on its feet. All the working parts are raised and open to the air. Let your PC be free. You can't walk through a Black & Decker workmate. I won't be changing from it.
the white version looks off... the white plastic lines paired with the gray IO bracket and the RGB strips don't really match color wise, they should've used different tones, it ended up looking a bit cheap, the black version looks sleek and elegant.
Black one looks way better, the rgb actually pops.
Funny as fck
Thanks !
what a missed opportunity to make the light base 900 a great case, I can't believe that they didn't give enough space on the side to mount a 420mm AIO, when they already supported 3x140mm fans... that is beyond stupidity... that is the ideal configuration, 3x140mm as intake in the bottom, fresh air for the GPU, 420mm AIO on the side as an intake push-pull configuration, fresh air for the CPU cooler, and back and top exhaust... be quiet! really messed up... also at that size and price, the front IO has to be dual USB 3.0, meaning 4 ports like all big cases at that price point... go back to the drawing board
You will be able to run top/bottom with 420 a 360mm on the side and even 140mm on the back…. at the same time
So that will be a lot of options.
@@MarcoMiyagi best configuration is fresh air from the bottom for the GPU, fresh air from a push-pull configuration on the side, top and rear exhaust... mixing different fans sizes generate different pitches of noises, making the sound more unpleasant, so no, just another year of PC cases that doesn't make sense...
Can we just make rear mounted cable motherboards the industry standard and move on now?
I'm a big fan of be quiet!, but their Pure Power PSUs aren't very quiet...
Really ? Which one do you have ?
It's the 12 M. The fan has a higher pitch bearing sound than all the other be quiet! fans in my case combined, and there is a regular tick/buzz noise that comes from the internal components. It's by far the loudest part of my system at idle, which is disappointing, as I've tried very hard to make it near silent. I'd compare the volume / sound of the PSU to a 2.5" HDD spinning while doing read/writes... I know that may seem negligible to some people, but I live in a quiet area, and mostly use my PC at night. My system at idle, was not audible over ambient noise prior to the PSU upgrade.
I cannot wait for light base 900 to go out already. I have a really bad expirience with Corsari 2500D with my project zero build.
I bought already AF III 420 and I cannot wait to ditch shitty Corsair. I had 4000D different level, 2500D, no 2 HDDS when using PZ/BTF boards, I had to use cable ties. 2500D has 3x140mm fans but no 420 rad support. No upgright GPU support like O11. Shity side panels, noisy cut outs for fans. I bloody hate it. Please Be quite hurry up!
Finally something different from BQ, their cases were getting a bit boring.
Clever to have removable feet but just know I'd lose it. I lose every spare part for my cases. Thumbscrews if they are not captive.. gone. Blanking plates.. Gone. Glass panel sides... Gone.
There's Steve in the background, the biggest complaint channel on RUclips.
Zzzzz. More O11D clones. So tired of that layout and design. Everyone is doing it now.
Agreed! Triple fans on the side as well which is a step backwards in air cooling. Thermaltake is the only company trying something different.
Agreed, im sick of dual chamber and fishtank cases. Fractal is our last hope 😂
It’s nice and I like it but it’s overdone. Even for me.
It is like the o11 but just muuuch better, well designed, with common sense, not like the new 011s
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And soon everyone will be complaining about how tired they are of cases with wooden accents.
the case are ugly
PC cases are horrible. Now they look like fish tanks. So much imagination!
Any cases without this rgb bullshit??
If steve is in the video, downvote and uinsubbed.
Sorry to see you go 😶
Hate that steve guy
how so?
Really ? Why.
Total bastard, I know!
I'm just considering that for the first time ever I could have the case on the LEFT side of my desk and see in the window! 🪟
Yes indeed !
That case on its side, not gunna lie, i love the 70s vibe, i think i need it!
I love the side look too.
That's exactly what it reminds me of, holy crap. inb4 some one hangs a tiny disco ball in there.
I have to agree. LOVE the look and style. Very stylish. The minute I seen it I knew I'd buy it. Brings back a lot of memories or my parents now very cool and funky turntable, double cassette and AM/FM stereo.
Looks seriously cool in that layout and colour combo
Reminds me of a 1970s record player. ❤
"I'm feeling gutted" - quintessential British - I love you guys!
We love you too ❤️
Tech Jesus, & Leo at Computex. This is why I’m here. It’s like Christmas 🎄 time for Tech Nerds.
I feel like Steve & Louis Rossmann is my muscle against companies doing shady stuff
My kind of tag team
Would be nice to have versions without the glass panels as well.
5:53
Unpopular opinion, but I like these cube/flat laying desktop cases. I wish there were more options for them.
agreed
My favorite time of the year, watching leo and steve interact at Computex!! Lets GO
More to come !
Thx for the high quality Computex coverage! Meanwhile, I wonder how the EK booth is doing...
I want that horizontal layout for the larger, 420-supported version. And I do mean that want with a W-A-N-T!!!
Not liking the fish tank trend we are having, all companies I've seen in Computex are doing it. I thought we were doing away with glass and RGB in favour of mesh, airflow oriented cases. I guess only on SFF still.
It’s popular for sure.
Jeez, their cases finaly evolving. I could not be happier, after seeing front mesh edition with option to mount DUAL 180mm fans (not included). Just dual rails for fan screws, not single fan bracket. Specially after seeing that mesh next to GPU at case back is replaced with solid steel (which is good), dual 180's would take down Fractal Torrent, that would be KO for Torrent ;)
They took a long tine to Even adopt rgb. They are going full bore 🎉
2:37 a wild steve appears. thanks steve.
Big Steve is in the house. Loved it. Liked the cases.
Another aquarium. I have fully modded 20 years old Thermaltake Tai-Chi and it looks mutch better than another generic front/side glass case.
They seem to split opinion. That’s for sure
That side PC got me acting up.
Finally, a case inversion that takes next to no effort to accomplish.
Any mention of release dates on the cases?
its a disaster if you have watercooling inside you flip the case RIP the pump
It was mentioned that the Dark Rock 5 will have an offset mount for AMD, will they start supplying these for the Dark Rock Elite?
I never thought of changing my o11 EVO until the Lightbase 900 FX, it is a stonking case..
Think the o11 maybe on it's way out..
Horizontal light base 600 is pretty great. I like that a lot. The black/gold (orange?) configuration looks nice too.
Is there a new model of the Dark Rock Elite? Why was it branded as New? It's been out for a while hasn't it?
Not for all but I like the Light Base 600 laid down as this is what I am looking for with No GPU SAG or same with Air Cooler.
That is pretty cool with the feet to invert it. Not really into that fishbowl cases though
You can't do that in the flag ship 901 lol.
Just tired of seen lian li O11 clone
Never realized Leo had a feet fetish haha
BTX and ATX - how don’t you know that
Please take a look at the amazing show case from Raijintek the Paean Benchtable! It's so amazing and beautiful! Also You can use it horizontally with the optional AiO part and use it as the front! It's so unique and beautiful!
They don’t really talk to us but thanks for the feedback !
Great video
Wow!
Do I need a case right now? No. Will I buy that LB 600 horizontal? YES! Very nice. Very stylish. Beautiful in fact. Any word on launch date?
Not yet!
Amazing!!!
Thanks!!
I wish we had more horizontal cases. I have a Raijintek Paean, and it's great, but massive. I really like that 600 in that setup.
That sideways computer looks like it belongs in a living room powering a gaming TV
i nneed an itx or matx version of that horizontal case, 110% my favorite looking case ever
Finally some love for inverted cases!
Laughed my head off thanks guys.
It takes a load of mecharn ?
Leo and Steve. The dream team 🤓
Finally an end to the half decade stagnant case market
Which one do you like ?
@@KitGuruTech fan of the easy to flip idea as I myself have to use the pc on the left side of the desk and I fully understand how hard and expensive it is to do an inverted layout. If the Lightbase 600 is easily invertable then I would love that case. It would also be cool for them to have a cheaper like abit more barebones but still have the invertable feature at like $80-100
DON'T BREAK IT!!!! Leo being put in a hard spot. Hahahhaha
Oh well we tried
I still love my Silent Base 802 with NO silly childish RGB.
There is certainly still an audience for no rgb
2:34 gamers nexus is here too xd
More to come !
nice
Thanks
