Love this series. Swedish folk racing is one of the most enjoyable motorsports around. Enjoy it while you still can. In a few years the environmentalists will take this very important piece of fun away forever.
@@ianjones1118 Yeah right, Amateur banger racing will not be approved for electric vehicles any time soon. Way too dangerous. Specially trained firefighters on standby for every race. The costs alone would kill folk racing. And also where the hell do you find an electric car for £300. That you can relatively safely rebuild in your garage?
I love and imagine people will be googling his racing sponsoring companies, just to find pictures of Guy's best friends. Hopefully they are wrestling in the driveway.
I believe that in folkrace they end up with 220bhp in thoose engines. And in rallycross its around 280bhp in the N/A redblocks. In volvo original cup they have 130bhp for rallying
NOTHING LIKE PORTING A ENGINe INTAKE AND EXHAUST PORTS OUT..I do it too everything, when i get the chance too get there for a reason when its fixing something else.. Best FIY Mod you can do too any combustion engine.. Noticable power, performance gains.. especially in a hi flowing engine like a 4.6 ford v8 32v Dohc, or even your 2stroke dirtbike..heck i por my chainsaws out.. Keep up the shows GUY'..
As a lover of 240s I cannot watch further. Seems to be in nice condition and will be smashed up. I bet rust free doors, crack free dash and black side mouldings in good shape etc. All of which is very hard to find even here in Sweden nowadays.
Whatever the program this happens they are not going to spend 10 episodes welding and repairing the car, they get the best possible donor, sad but true.
Hope you know the rules of "Folk race". If you win your car comes up on an auction where you have to sell at some minimum price. I think the only thing you can keep is the racing seat. All to keep it accessible for all people (folk). Not being like rally where you need a sponsorship to afford everything.
@@dakkadakka6265 Because it took him weeks and weeks to complete, most likely working around other projects. How much do you propose it would cost to accommodate him, his mechanic friend and the film crew in Sweden for that long? 🤣
Maybe it would have been smarter to buy a race car after a race. I think it is €800+20. But I completely understand his view. Being born a mechanic he just wants his own hands in the project.
667BP is the maximum price he can get for it - and he HAS to sell if offered that. That's why it's called "folk race",you don't have to be rich to do it.
Hey Guy love all your shows and content! Would love to see you bring the Piaggio APE back to life for a hill climb event! OOKK OOKK AAAH AHH AAAAHHH *FLINGS SHIT*
wonder if Guy is aware of the rules regarding Folkrace? If someone want to buy your car, you must sell it. This rule is to prevent people from tuning and having "too good cars"
Volvo engines CAN be reliable. BUT, that depends how hard you push them. A Volvo XC90 V8 would be a good choice, it works well in the Noble M600 ! BUT, This racing series Guy is entering, requires the engine to be standard to the car.
111hp isn't too much for a folkrace car, the stock b230f has 116 and the great engines in folkrace probably have closer to 200 with 2.5l engines and webers etc
@Bercilak de hautdesert yes i know i know, my family has done this for a couple of years before and i have some friends who race in folkrace. I was just saying if he wanted a good shot at a win then a bit more power wouldn't hurt ;)

Best program on TV by far , Keep going Boys you LEGENDS 💪
those volvo 5 spokes and the "Hydra" slanted 5 spokes from the 740 turbos have to be some of the best factory wheels like.. ever?
Looking forward to seeing Guy "a-vin a go" in Sweden... 👍
Old volvos never die, they just get faster
Probably a lot faster if Guy gets his hands on them. lol
I really want to see him do more 80's cars
These videos are amazing. But PLEASE do some longer ones!
Would love to have Guy with me in the workshop for a day. Reckon I could out drink his tea habit with my coffee input.
A folk hero does folk racing. Perfect
GUY MARTIN FOR PRESIDENT!
I'd prefer steel wheels for what he's planning.
10 minute videos (or a bit longer) would be great!
I love this series ❤️👍👍
Brilliant.. but i should kept the sedan and not the station wagon thou
Proper Legend 🇬🇧👍

Y the estate.? Was the saloon not lighter / stiffer ..
A couple of bags of cement in the boot.. 👍

What I don't get is why didn't he do this in the country he planned to race in, would have been alot easier and less expensive

@@scubaeric1344 Yes and every race day there’s someone angry because they took a chance with some nice motor parts. 😂
When you upgrade your grandpa's lawnmower XD
guy should really go to finland and try the finnish folkrace its a little bit diffrent with the speed and cars
Hi sir. When you will try to reach 300 mph on your Hayabusa?

I always wondered what kind of guy names their kid "Guy" 😂😂😂😂
Should of used a T5 engine , you can get 1000bhp out of them 🤣🤣🤣
Those engines were mint
Could have atleast patched the headlight areas
If Guy started Nigel Racing Corporation I believe it would actually be successful...
hmm if you based that on a B230E is and you ported it etc you should be a lot higher then that. they get 166HP out of them on "stock parts"
Its funny how being GLT that car would be worth alot of money over here in scandinavia.
👍👍
I want to see dyno pull when guy is done.

G'Day Guy, I was about to hit LIKE and noticed it was at 999, to me hitting 1000 Likes for you is equivalent to you winning a race.
👍 👌 ♥

Of course that one is reliable, it’s actually Japanese.
Exhaust goes out not air 🤷♂️
Never buy a 244. 242 or 245 is the way to go. 🇸🇪
The NRC HRC tribute is tits.
and the Moriwaki Engineering too.

Love the video, but what is wrong with the narrator's voice. Is it covid, or is he trying to sound American.
Or does he think he sounds cool.
