guy the the type of person no one will believe when he says "ive raced in the isle of man TT, ive set a load of world records" because he looks like a regular truck mechanic..
Some fans saw these years ago, but have so much love for the pride Guy has in his work. If only more people in other walks of life had the same, we’d be in a better place! 👍🏼
My Father always used to say "Find a Job you Love and you will never work a day in your life." he also used to say "A Job is not complete until you clean up after yourself" I wish more ppl thought this way.
I love how down to Earth Guy is. He seems like the most honest, passionate, hard working bloke. Not a bad bone in him. He's like the Keeanu Reeves of the truck world.
As a retired mechanic I know where he is coming from, a lot of people just think we grease nipples, they do not realize the the lives of people are in our hands, literally. It is a great source of pride that I never killed anyone.
When he says he has 11x10mm spanners, he's like a 12 yr old kid, who once dreamed of a wkd tool box and has the realisation his life is complete. Everything from here is just gravy for Guy, awesome stuff
I'm a welder and I've listened to radio 4 since I was 7. I'm completely blown away that Guy Martin has a daytime job that isn't motorcycle racing. I figured that if me, being an American, knew about Guy then he had to be famous and well off to the point where he didn't need a day job. Maybe he is. Maybe he works for fun. But it looks like he loves it, which is rare and he is lucky, and it looks like he does it well. I was also shocked when Guy said he didn't do many things well. He's very humble...maybe too humble. Great stuff!
The farm I work on are going to get a couple of their trucks serviced by Guy (hopefully) I would love to go along just to meet him, take a few beers and shake his hand haha
my father would love this guy. he was a mechanic. a dam good one and was always proud of a job that was well done. over the years he was lucky enough to have worked on everything from boats to aircraft. at one stage he was working on fire engines and he said their rough as hell on the gear but if they could break it, he could fix it. recon you two would have got on like a house fire.
he is a highly intelligent man. look at the eyes and how he adapt on whatever challenge he does. And the most funny thing is that he only sees himself as a ordinary bloke from down the road that is just passioned in speed and mechanics. So unaware of his high IQ just wondering about life as it is without any form of ego.
Been a Millwright/Machinist/Machine Builder for 35 years now and yes,we are doctors. Just keep the passion going, clean machines, dirty hands. Cheers Mate.
Guy Martin you never fail to impress me, your honest down to earth approach to life and your humility are a rare character not found in many people, you Sir are a genuine One Off.
It's about fulfilment. Can you imagine a world where everyone was like Guy (and me) and had a job they enjoyed and embraced in this way? The down side would be, mass unemployment in the entertainment industry and licenced trade. No need for them.
Guy breaks multiple world records, rebuilds a Spitfire, 17 times on the TT podium, rides for MotoGP. "What am I good at? M.O.T." Humblest guy in the world. What a legend.
Wow if only we all had and took as much pride in our jobs as Guy does the world would be an even better place. Guy is an inspiration with his mindset and I thank him for sharing it with us all. Kettles on if your ever down Devon way bud
The more videos I see of guy the more I really realisehe is such a genuine down-to-earth guy he could actually be superman in disguise you are awesome guy..
Guy. Im with you mate. I served my time as a Wagon fitter,it was AEC Mandators, marshall majors and Guy Big J`s in those days. I started my apprenticeship in 1976. The pay was crap, not to mention the working conditions, but the lads were sound. Happy days.
I've been watching freds videos and that man was INCREDIBLE. I'm from the states and had never heard of him but if you were two put these two mad men together it would be sensory overload
I really really really like this man. My son sent me a wee short today of Guy outrunning a camera helicopter... It was amazing. So, I went online and watched some of his other stuff. I have to say he is one of the most down to earth yet driven people I've ever come across. His zest for what he does just lights him up. Clever. Loved the video where he wheels his Merlin engine out into a field and starts her up. Got emotional over that I have to say. Anyway... He's a braw lad. Reminds me of Fred Dibnah in many ways. The man who would go on a date with Cameron Diaz simply because of pudding. And the fact she might have something to say.
Legend.
I think he meant 'pudding'.
"Do it well do it once" so true

Measure twice, cut once.
Do it right the first time cause it takes twice as long to do it the second.
„You gotta be passionate about something“. So true. I‘m sad for people who never find their passion except for those who are too lazy to look for it.
