    I love this recipe as this was exactly something my own mother would cook. She just recently passed away and this made me think about her. Thank you Talli Faye for the wonderful memory.

    This looks so good. You are a big help to me because you make it first. I have a little ham left from Christmas that I had frozen, some potatoes, and a large can of beans. Now, I will make them like this and add bacon grease that I keep on hand. Thank you.

    My grandma did something very similar, but she did not add the pimiento. Also she made hers in the pressure cooker. I still make them that way. Love them!

    That’s what I love about Louisiana & Southeast Texas, or Just about any cooking in the south. When I learned from my Mama, growing up, very few dishes, other than baking calls for strict adherence to measurements. Mom never measured, & that’s how I learned. You just know by memory how much onion, garlic, or any seasoning, you just know.

    Looks great Ms. Talli, having grown up in Southeast Texas, Mom would make close to this same exact dish with a variety of main dishes, like hamburger steaks & gravy, meatloaf, chicken fricasee or anything. That’s what makes this such a great side dish, it goes good with just about anything. 😊

    It does look really easy to make. I bet this would be just as delish if you fried it on top of the stove as well. Now & then my Cajun side comes out & I like to make sausage & potatoes, & that one is best cooked on top of the stove. Real simple ingredients, a little oil, onion, garlic, seasoning, sausage & potatoes. Also it’s best if cooked in cast iron for its outstanding browning ability.

    This is something I would make,sure looks good. How do you fry your okra ? Seems everyone makes it different when you have time I would like to see how you make yours. Thanks, I have been watching you for about 2 weeks now and of all the dishes you have made that I just don’t understand is what you call thanksgiving dressing, I as others feel that if dressing is not loaded with sage ,you can’t call it dressing.lol. I guess we get that from our old grandma’s . And of course Moms. Everyone is different.

    I absolutely love this dish!! My Mom made this sometimes only she made it with leftover Ham cubed up. Holy Cow it was good ❤. I make fried green beans in a skillet. I fry up the bacon crispy then stir fry whole green beans in the bacon grease till tender. When ready to serve I crumble the crispy bacon on top of the beans. YUMMY!! The most requested dish by my children and Grands. Dear Friend, can you please tell me if you can just snap green beans, put in freezer bags and just freeze them?? Or do you have to process them, some how, before they can be frozen?? Your KeyLime friend 💕🙏🙏

      They need to be blanched before freezing them ♥️

      @@jeannetaylor2217 when you blanch vegetables, you bring water to boil in a pot… no salt or anything in it… Place your fresh veggies in the water for maybe 2-3 minutes … just long enough to see color change so that the temperature has changed but not cooking… take it out immediately and drain, rinse in colander under cold tap water… drain and freeze

    • @inthekitchenwithtallifaye4724
      @inthekitchenwithtallifaye4724  11 месяцев назад +1

      It keeps them fresh and crunchy… if you just froze them straight to the freezer it would be like they froze outside in the weather and would ruin them
