Well you were spot on since both Handanović and De Vrij won a Serie A and Italian Supercup double. Also, Gerard Moreno won the Europa League in the same year (last year).
Son Heung-min’s situation is very interesting as that Asia games medal stopped him doing 18 months military service too. I’m sure there was even some ruling that if he had to do his military service, that he could not even get into one of the army teams in the K League for some reason ( there is actually only one now and they are in the k league2). However, I don’t know how much of that would have been true. I’m sure if the Bayern rumors become true, he will have silver wear to his name. He’s an exceptional talent.
I think that a lot of players on this list are there because top football has become increasingly dominated by two, three or even one team! Take Italy for example, where not only have Juventus won 9 title in a row, they also won the Copa Italia 4 years in a row for a time as well. In England I always used to think that the League cup was a good way for teams to get some easy silverware but now it is dominated by Manchester city, who've won it 5 times in the last decade.
Day 20: What on earth is going on at Ipswich Town, from European and 1st division success to mid table in league 1, with an awful owner and heaps of debt (roughly 90 million).
would love to see a list of some of the best/biggest player moves following a major international tournament. the ones that spring to mind are from the 2014 world cup with blind to man utd, rakitic to barca, and rodriguez to real madrid.
Great list, Alfie! Although I'd consider the national and european Supercups as "major" or "official" trophies (even though they are unquestionably the "smaller"/"less important" of the bunch), still it's a really fine ranking! I do put them as official ones since they are the kickstart of the regular season (not a "pre-season" tournament) and played with the official rules of a major tournament. But again, I still think It was a good "seven". I have a video suggestion to make: you could talk about, from a englishman perspective, which individual award is more prestigious and has the fairest criteria - the Ballon D'or x The Fifa Best Player Award (today known as FIFA The Best). It's funny, 'cause from a Brazilian perspective, the FIFA award' is normally more renowned, for being the more "official one" from Football's main Entity. The Ballon D'or got more well known around here arguably in the last two decades, since it was exclusively for Europeans up until 1995. To me, It seems the France Football award is more important, due to It's tradition. Greetings! 😁🇧🇷
You're entitled to your opinion, but a 'supercup' cannot be deemed a major trophy if it's one game (although I'm aware the Spanish Supercup is currently two games per team). They are 'official' trophies, as you call it, but I'd call them 'exhibition' trophies, along with the FIFA Club World Cup (which is also just two games for all UEFA participants) rather than 'major' trophies.
When you hit 500k special: 7 best clubs from cities (have to be recognised as a city, not a town) with populations of 500,000 (450k-550k) It's only a matter of time!

Kane needs a move to a bigger club if he's going to be remembered as a truely top class player at the end of his career. I only care about England, but I have a little hope of trophies in that department!
@@mohammadshatila3502 I would personally say Marcherano of 2011 over either Bosquets. He had a great season while Puyol and Milito(Barcelona's two best center backs when healthy) were injured.
Hard like, video like this should be made after current season end and then you would have some of those players off your list. About winning Slovenia league as major trophy etc, well that is something very discussable...
You keep mentioning that FA cup final m8. You had us down 2-0. My eyes were full of tears. And then I said "Put down 50 bucks on Arsenal to win." I did what I did because of the power of faith. And so it came to pass. Now it's all on the table for me. Homeopathy works for me. So does dowsing. That game taught me the Trick of Belief. Football is magic.
Completely agree with the intro, fans in general focus too much on trophies to assess individuals without taking their team around them into account. While trophies are always the aim - I'd rather have Harry Kane's reputation/legacy and prestige, than a bench warmer at Liverpool and Man City's recent teams, for example. It's like that espn pundit saying Messi can't be considered as the GOAT unless he wins a world cup.
I'd add Wissam Ben Yedder as an honorable mention. Top striker. Goals, goals everywhere he goes. On fire for Monaco, where he's become the captain. The guy's just been unlucky in terms of winning trophies.
1:13 nice pun 2:41 I believe that is an inverse parabola I saw Son play just once in the Bundesliga and it was enough to convince me that I wanted Los Blancos should've signed him to be CR7's successor at Madrid. Sadly they instead went for Hazard 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Video suggestion: Perhaps look at the effect that the pandemic has had on the lower leauges of English football. Some examples could be Tranmere Rovers going down to league 2 due to the remaining 19/20 fixtures being scrapped. Or other clubs being unable to make any signings, letting go of staff etc

Think Kane should go to Barcelona. Would give him a more opportunities to win trophies and Barcelona need a striker with Dembele being too injury prone and not good enough.
The vast majority of players have never and will never win a trophy, so I would say they are not as important as small wins most players will get at least once. Winning a derby, winning against a much bigger club, that one goal you once scored, one save you made, one goal-line clearance, one Pirlo-esque assist, one Maradona-esque dribble... That's why you play the game! Of course, the more of these small victories you have, the better chances you have at winning a trophy with your team.
Video Idea: clubs who have a direction (North,South etc) that doesn't match their location eg Queen of the South in Scotland who are nowhere near the south

11:49 Imo being a better goalscorer than someone else is a VERY big part of being a better Cf
Handanovic has a great chance of winning the Scudetto though.
Day 4: "Last 7 Puscas Award winners: Where are they now?"
He’s already done that, twice I think
One of them plays FIFA for a living now
They are on earth
Handanovic and De Vrij just won the serie a title
You should incorporate some game clips of these players during the video
Half these players have won a trophy this season
0:18 The Bundesliga trophy looks like a wheel hub off a car 😏
Damn idk why I thought Handanovic won the Champions w Inter. I know Julio Cesar was still in the team but I figured he was part of the squad.
Best footballers who have never made any HITC sevens video
I enjoyed your tangents
Video Idea: clubs who have a direction (North,South etc) that doesn't match their location eg Queen of the South in Scotland who are nowhere near the south
Ahhhhh looking back on this. Classic spurs
Do a 7 where you rank players who only ever won international competitions (no league titles, ucl or any othe club competition)
