- This past summer I found a great comic collection in a neighbor’s basement, and promised to help him sell it; well that time has come!
I head over to do a final inventory of the collection and find yet more comics I hadn’t seen before… including another big key comic I couldn’t live without! Check out the video to see what I found and how we plan to sell the collection!

Some people misunderstood the idea...you don't need to own all the toys....the idea is to PLAY WITH all the toys! You're doing the guy a huge solid and you get to handle pieces of comic book history...what's the down side here?? It's obvious you love this stuff, I love it too...being able to go through a massive amount of huge books, obscure Indi stuff..you tell me,what's funner than that??;? AND you're honest as it gets about it,not your comic books...I think it's awesome for the both of you, have a great show!

That scarecrow with the dangling eye brings back memories. It was one of my faves in my original collection because it always made me stop when I was browsing through the boxes.

Ah Happiness! A man with no hang ups about his hobby is a happy man. I still look at a Spider-Nan cover and go wow! I still look at a Scooby Doo cover and crack a smile. I can see you slabbing you Uncanny X-man to preserve it, which is great, it is a great slice of comic history, Never apologise for being an outstanding human being, we need a whole bunch more of you in the world.

Then, sometime since I’ve had the ability to see some of these videos, really cool, find any major first appearance is cool, but the juggernaut just breaks through everything
I totally understand your excitement in looking through comicbook collections.
My brother in law had a collection from his father's and I eagerly helped him organize, bag/board, and value them. I asked to do this free of charge without asking for any comics.
Just like yourself I'm a Marvel fan, not so much DC and he had a mixed bag of both I recognized the valuable bronze/silver age marvel(there was the amazing spider-man #122 in NM, death of Gwen Stacey iconic cover) most DC issues I had to look up to see if there were any key issues.
Needless to say, I get a kick in helping out looking at an old collection. I Feel like a comic book archeologist lol

It’s really nice of you to help this guy. Those who are giving you grief about buying all of the better books I would ignore those people. It seems you are paying him a very fair price for everything you bought. You should get some reward for putting in the work helping him out. Great price for that first juggernaut. $200 for that grade seems very fair.

Wow, an Argosy Weekly from 1933 in such good condition - just amazing.
I agree about date stamps on comic covers, they contribute to the book's provenance.
Looking forward to the follow-up video Mike on the comics show and how this collection is received by attendees. With so many great comics, I believe the owner's tables will be busy all day.

This is so awesome seeing you help out a fellow collector like this. I hope there's a great turnout and he makes some money. There's an amazing selection of books there. And that X-Men 12? So sweet! Just remember what our friend Joe AKA Threesixty Comics always says, Low Grade is Better than No Grade. You're one of the best examples of how awesome our community is, Mike!
At 3:43, that romance book is worth big money in high grade. I buy it at the show if I wasn’t stuck in Mississippi.

Amazing collection! Even in rough shape it must have felt like finding buried treasure flipping through those boxes for the first time.
I had a similar situation with my uncle many years ago where he gifted me a bunch of his old, beat up comics for helping him move. I grabbed some GREAT ones, including a copy of the same X-Men #12. It’s one of the gems of my PC, even though it’s low grade.

Send X-men 12 To your comics presser n have it graded. For yellow pages There’s an UV light treatment to whiten the pages n stop acid decorations … I think. Grab that with Dave stevens cover

Great books, and tell people I said don't worry about the books you get and they don't. I'm sure if they were in your position they would of picked up more than 6 books out of that great collection.🐻
The collection is much larger, more diverse and covers many more eras than expected. I thought he collected mainly in the 60-70's. You don't often see Elfquest and Zap comics among superhero collectors. Great find!

You got an amazing collection and I am still saving up to get my last grail books TMNT#1, Primer#2,Hulk#181, X-Men#1 1963, Amazing FANTASY#15 and maybe a page from Batman#1 and then my collection is complete. If I find keys cheap though I will pick them up.

I salivated at the DC Silver like those Showcase Hourman/Dr Fates. Huge fan of pre crisis DC. Mike, if you want some good books to read, start at Superman 200 and go to about Superman 220, they are great books, as well as Action 1968-70
Awesome video as always mike. It's really cool that you're helping this guy with his collection. Are you going to film this event for his comics? That's pretty sweet that you got the first appearance of the juggernaut for a good deal. Are you going to see if Comic Spa can work his magic or leave this one as is? I went to a somewhat local comic con and I finally got Uncanny X-men #129. There were two booths that wanted A higher price. I just need Uncanny X-men #130 to complete my Dark Phoenix saga. I had the chance to buy it but with the hype of Taylor Swift rumors, the price has gone up. I also got a king size X-men #4, X-men days of the future:doomsday #1, and Eerie Magazine #13. Love the old horror magazines. Keep on collecting Mike.
We must be bruthas from different muthas! I'm like you because my comic collection is MY comic collection. I have books that appeal to me and I really enjoy the collection. Some books won't command a hefty price tag and that's okay with me. I don't collect them to make money on them, because I'm leaving them for my children to keep or sell once I'm gone. If they make a $100 bucks on Daredevil #1, then that's $100 bucks they didn't have before. However, I will haunt them if they give it away at that price! LOL Thanks for all you do!

I’m a little surprised that the owner of that collection didn’t just give you the two books. There’s no telling how much work you’ve put in and all of the free advertising you’ve given him. If that were me, I would feel odd asking for money.

They are vinyl wall panel moulding, can find at most big hardware store chains

I wonder if you could go through the process of submitting a bunch of the best books to cgc to get a pedigree label going for this collection. I'd love to buy the Zap Comics. I'm so sad that you're not going to be selling any of these online where I can get a shot at them. I'm too far away to travel to whatever comic show you're going to. Best of luck. You don't need to explain yourself when picking out comics out of this collection. That is your business and no one should have a problem with this.

imo that Cerebus should be verified by a 3rd party and graded (e.g. cgc) - since bootlegs exist - it's also such an expensive book. I know others don't like slabbing but if he's trying to get the most money - that'd get more imo.

Everyone is on the current X-Men team. Unfortunately my favorite book, for the last 40+ years, is completely off the rails. The whole Krakoa thing has been awful from beginning to end.
