She's a bit sloppy wallowing around out there in the following seas heading into the channel... The waves weren't so big at that distance from shore, relative to what that boat is designed for... Even with all those cars onboard, the thing still rides like it's top heavy. Bobs like a cork. Give me the Beaver Islander any day. I'd trust the Islander in any weather.😁
Obviously Cap'n Mike or Cap'n Brian at the helm bringing her in that day! I've had some rough crossings on that boat and her sisters, Beaver Islander and South Shore, The most memorable
Sorry .. went too soon!? My most memorable trip was Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003 when we came out of CVX harbor and the first wave froze instantly to the forward windows in the lounge. I've also been aboard twice when we went out but turned around and returned to Beaver Island.
@@keywestjj Wow John, thanks for the stories. I remember the old South Shore and cannot even imagine taking her out of Round Lake. We've never been to Beaver Island but have seen the ferries depart and return for the past 40 years. You are a brave man! TJ
@@isellu You've never been to Beaver Island? And you live in/near Charlevoix?? What are you waiting for... Come on over!! You'll love it! Beaver Island is a chunk of heaven that fell from the sky and landed in the middle of lake Michigan. It's an absolutely amazing place, and the people are incredibly friendly. Once this virus insanity dies down, I expect to see you there. 😀😄😁😆

I actually saw the Emerald Isle today when it pulled into Charlevoix
And Beaver islander a few weeks ago
Today there are surfers and high waves right now
No doubt with the high winds today. Thanks for the update!

Oh, wow that's neat. You are more brave than us!
Sweet
Was it cold there Terry?
As I recall, and looking at the way people were dressed, it was in the low to mid 60s but really windy!
Haha yes, I remember the high waves in 2017.
