This wasn’t even my favourite film of the year but I urge the Academy to choose this for Best Picture. So creative, heartwarming and unique - it will undoubtedly mark a new era of creativity in cinema which we all will be grateful for.
The flashback scenes really brought me back to Eternal sunshine of the Spotless Mind. These quick cut sequences that just bring all the emotions right out of you
I loved "In the Mood For Love" (2000) starring Tony Leung. The "laundry & taxes" scene knocked me over with a baseball bat. In the current period of war, climate disaster & corporate hegemony, we need kindness and empathy more than anything, everything, everywhere, all at once.
Been a movie buff for almost 70 years. This is one of the greatest I've ever seen. Redefines a genre, and movie-making itself every bit as much as Orson Welles did with Citizen Kane. Advances the art of film-making. I will feel so cheated that she's been unfairly cheated (despite great performances from other actresses) if Michelle Yeoh doesn't get that well deserved Oscar.
I feel the same, this film redefines not only a genre but cinema itself. Will be so very disappointed if Michelle Yeoh loses the oscar for the yet again present Cate Blanchett, which gave a good performance, but for the same dramatic role the Academy likes so much.
Well, you really shouldn't. Plenty of movies, directors and actors got snubbed at the Oscars and their movies ended up being the lasting ones while the winners faded from memory. This movie found an audience, at a time when small movies rarely do, and that's already the biggest win for all of them. It will last longer Tar, Blonde, To Leslie and even The Fablemans
Watching this clip makes me feel so emotional. This movie somehow touches many aspects of my life. I love this movie so much and wish it all the best. ❤
I think the most magical thing about this movie is it’s capacity to teach rather than preach it’s message. It a movie that tackles so many issues without telling you the issue.
You gave the best statement, ITS like an iceberg, sometimes you think Yeoh's character is the protagonist one, but ITS actually antagonist for the other character, like the daughter becoming jobu (chaos force), and in the end, after all this time & space, she recognise that if you take time to listen with An open heart it Will get better.
Perfect!!! That's the point. There have been too many movies preaching the director and authors ideas, instead of telling a story and leaving the audience to have theyr own opinion about It!!! This kind of movies is worse than the low level blockbusters, which at least are honest, do not trying to trick you!!
For an obscure independent movie made by 2 almost unknown directors to hit this deep with such a wide variety of an audience is simply a testament to the quality of this movie. Sometimes, you see good movies, sometimes you watch great movies, and sometimes, you just see movies that you instantly know are a cinematic experience you will never forget ! You can tell everybody who worked on this movie not only had a buckloads of fun, but you can also tell they were all on a MISSION !!! I'm the kind of guy who very rarely go rewatch a movie in the theater, unless it really connected with me. This movie is among the rare club of movies I went to rewatch in theaters not only one time, but 5 times ! The second time just to confirm I didn't dreamed my first one, then all the following ones, I just had to show it to different friends and family members (and yes, including my sister and our mom, who have a very similar relationship than the one depicteed in the movie). And every single time, as soon as the Waymonds start speaking, I cried ! This movie is to the multiverse genre what Back to the Future was to the time traveling genre : Not necessarily the first one, but the definitive one ! It's essentially the Back to the Future of this generation ! But with times 100 the amount of heart ! I don't care if it gets any Oscar or not, at this point, sure, they'll just be a nice bonus if it happens, but the ultimate reward is that, in the infinite multiverse, we are in the one universe where this movie sprang into existence, and that's already a universal treasure to our world.
I’m here for Stephanie because she arguably gave the best performance in the movie and is getting the least recognition. Everyone involved deserves all the awards but she’s straight up being snubbed left and right
I feel she deserves best supporting.. but I think they may give it to Jamie Lee Curtis.. who, don't get me wrong, is also great.. but although Stephanie deserves it, I think they give it to Jamie in appreciation for a long career.
Well, she is the youngest. She still has a life time of acting in front of her. But she did an amazing job bringing the drama, humor and everything else!
Honestly, I think it's because of the comedy elements of her character. Academy and critical awards tend to downplay comedy acting and adore more serious characters... Stephanie definitely fills a HUGE role in this movie and is definitely underrecognized!
Part of it is because she isn’t doing as much press as the others. She only recently began using her Instagram page whereas Jamie posts multiple times per day. Stephanie has given fewer interviews than a lot of the other actors. She is PHENOMENAL in this movie and deserves recognition but it’s definitely a business and a lot of times you have to play the games to win the prizes.
I know it's a recent movie but I've seen it 6 times... favourite movie of all time. Hits every emotion in the book. Good luck trying to put this one under one genre
This movie brought us a bunch of things. Loads really: Michelle Yeoh for showing us her acting chops, and then some. I saw a vid of her tearing up because of what this movie meant to her. She acted her ass off. The return of Ke Huy Quan. Seeing him again, and in this movie especially is reason enough, but what he did here tipped the scale. Indie budget. Amazing movies can be made on lower budget, this proves it. There's a "how it was made" and it's amazing how this came together. It's another skill, maybe even worth an oscar on its own. So, the directors. Jamie Lee Curtis. Should be reason enough. Two rocks in silent proximity of eachother. In some universe, all of the above would win an oscar. Why couldn't it be this one?
@@Tao_Tology Excuse me? I'm not saying Michelle didn't do well at all. I'm simply stating Stephanie's performance also should be highlighted for goodness' sake.
I’m not crying, you’re crying 😭 This movie deserves all the love and attention it’s getting, and I agree with the actors & directors that it is so important during this time. An instant milestone in cinema 😍
Everything, Everywhere, All at Once and RRR stole my heart last year!! I lost a parent last year and Jobu's search for a parent that fully understands her - hit me!!
when I first saw this movie in the cinema last April, I was on the ONLY person in the theater. feels strange but I think it meant something, so after the end I was so amazed, sad, happy & mindblown on the movie. I couldn't stop thinking about it. So I point view on life, that I should feel be grateful to my family & friends even everybody got their own struggle what matters to support them. Cherish them on this few specks of time.
This movie deserves the Oscar, I thought I wouldn’t see another movie that made me as emotional as it did until this one. I ugly cried and hugged my mother got the longest time after it ended and I’m tearing up just watching this clip.
Logged on just to comment that I so very deeply, deeply hope the Oscars honour this film in a huge way. It is Best Picture worthy. The brilliance and ingenuity of this film is hard to fathom. So much intention in each shot and brilliant performances by each cast member, not to mention the profoundly beautiful messages in the film. And the cast seem genuinely full of joy and admiration for each other. I've watched this film 9 times now. We need more EEAAO in this world!
Stephanie acted so strong, she really is amazing. They were all great! But we can't let a group of over-privileged ppl (who from 2011 to 2021 nommed and gave the awards to Caucasians about 90% of the time) alter how this film affected us, affected the film world. So much beauty and feeling in it, and it will always be ours.
This is such a beautiful movie. I'm SO HAPPY it swept the Oscars. Finally they got it right! I'm so glad it's not just a cult classic and that more people will see it. It's so genuine and sincere in its emotions. I love seeing a story about love that is unironic and sincere while still being absurd.
EEAAO deserves all the awards. We haven’t seen a movie as absurd, as beautiful and as deep like that. Too many layers. A cathartic and immersive experience of Art indeed🔥
It's time for Academy members to recognize Michelle Yeoh for her wonderful performance. It's a shame that Halle Berry still remains the ONLY WoC to have ever won best actress in its 95 years of history! Dear voters, you have the chance in your hands to make history! Imagine what a wonderful night we'll have with Michelle Yeoh potentially winning❤❤
There will be soon. Hopefully before the 100th Oscars. Maybe the next woman of color to win that category could even be from a movie not in English. maybe for a Korean movie or a Japanese movie or a Senegalese movie or an Ivorian movie or an Indian movie or Pakistani movie or Bangladeshi movie or Haitian movie or even a Mexican movie or Dominican movie or Spanish movie. If Michelle wins. It will be the closest thing to an Oscar win for Malaysia
It was special to see Michelle as this character which showed such simplicity and fragility when we're so used to see her as strong, complex and powerful women whenever she's on screen. She was just as amazing in Star Trek!
As you grow up, is so easy to displace those beautiful moments in life and focus on what is wrong. This move helped me realize what a sad world we are building by doing that. Yes, is hard to pay attention to relationships when you need to work, and make money, and produce, and respond to everyone and everything at the same time, but love is always present. Give yourself enough space to feel love and kindness, and that world will suddenly become less sad. Life is like a rollercoaster, and The Daniels with all their crew who worked in EEAAO somehow got it in just one movie.
Never before has a movie made me sob and laugh at the exact same time over the exact same reason. Somehow this one did it to me. I like how Ke says it's about "kindness and empathy," that's what his character would say. But the movie goes so much deeper than that. Kindness and empathy is just the way back out.
To me, there's no other Best Actress. The palpable, raw emotion conveyed combined with her mastery of martial arts on display. No other person on the planet could have turned in a performance like that. It's the culmination of her entire career.
its the perfect movie. it spoke to my soul in a way that nothing else on this earth, in my 37 years of life, ever has before. I felt seen, and not alone.
Rooting for this movie to be at least get some nominations and now it's the most decorated Film of the year. So whatever happens I'm very please it get the recognition it deserves
This movie is EVERYTHING! My fav from 2022, and I’m sure it will become a classic. The ‘be kind’ scene, I’m crying again 🥲 I love this movie, and the Best Visual Effects Nom is missing. I hope wins everything, everywhere, all! ☺️
Not just the best film this year, but one of the Greatest of all time. Every performance is amazing and you laugh, cry and are changed for the better by this film.
loved this film. one of the most original, funny and heartfelt films in recent memory, and the fact that it manages to hold a sense of plot cohesiveness and tonal consistency, throughout many different styles of genre, for two-and-a-third hours, is nothing short of an incredible feat. it's amazing on every front and i'm genuinely happy it's getting the recognition it deserves
And the fact that is is still being shown ONE WHOLE YEAR later, speaks to the power + relevance of the film. Even the gigantic blockbusters can't accomplish this feat.
You had all the right people in all the right places, the perfect script, and everybody did their job above and beyond. It's a beautiful thing when it all comes together and works.
If you can make the audience laugh and cry within the same silent scene between two rocks having an imperceptible conversation, you have given your movie life. I cannot believe this was directed by the same people who made the Turn Down for What music video.
I absolutely adore this film. I immediately starting calling it one of my top 5 of all time after watching it. I've relatched in many times since then.
This movie had better win EVERY Oscar it was nominated for. It is a MASTERWORK - even after watching it a half dozen times - it retains the emotional punch like I have never experienced in any movie before. Also: WHERE do we get shirts like the ones the Daniels are wearing????
This is one of those rare movies that comes along and is just really something special. I only finally got around to watching it for the first time a few weeks ago, and I've already watched it three times. The cast, the script, the visuals...it's easily earns it place as one of my new favorite movies of all time.
@Westend Greens Extortion I'm a conservative dude. I voted for Trump. The movie is good. It's not woke. It's not a woke movie. Yes, it has a gay character in it, so what? The story didn't focus on that at all... You sound like a demented person, and you're the reason why conservatives get a bad reputation. An affirmative-action movie would be Black Panther, not this. Another example of an affirmative action movie: The little mermaid. Everything Everywhere All At Once is a great freaking film. Solid story, good character development, great cinematography, and great special effects, and they managed to do it with an 80 million dollar budget, which is nothing in Pedowood.
@Westend Greens Extortion How much hatred one needs to have to talk like you do? Examine that hatred within yourself before it completely consumes you.
@@bz7661 Black Panther isn't an affirmative action movie, but the remake of A Little Mermaid absolutely is. The fairy tale is innately Danish. In Copenhagen they have a statue of the little mermaid as a tribute to the author. Making it with black characters doesn't really do much for the story. On the other hand sometimes Shakespeare stories are reimagined in other cultural settings, usually with meh results. Can you imagine a cartoon of a West African folk story, lets say Anansi the spider, with all white characters? Absurd, right?
I walked out of this film feeling very overwhelmed not just by how rich and original this movie is, but also with this lightbulb moment that a movie with $25m budget just overcame any marvel or DC movie with 10x the budget in designing and executing a sci fi movie about the multiverse that also mixes in drama, romance, comedy, and character development. The amount of creativity and innovation - bodes very well for the future of Hollywood.
such a beautiful and necessary movie, especially during times where so many of us find ourselves in existential dread. finding joy and meaning in the meaninglessness of it all. i hope this wins the oscar for feature film

The Oscar's are a joke these days.
Totally agree.
@@sharknado623
Right about Cate - same dramatic role.
Good actors always say they want to challenge themselves with different kinds of roles.
You sound Thai. It's the kind of drivel Thai kids spout.
For me, this movie should win for Best Leading Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Original Screenplay.
Everybody involved in this movie is such a huge fan of everyone else in this movie, it's so awesome
@@dennisbay3035 I think Angela Bassett will win the award. Curtis and Hsu will split the vote.
She is PHENOMENAL in this movie and deserves recognition but it’s definitely a business and a lot of times you have to play the games to win the prizes.
michelle yeoh and ke deserve to win here
Agreed!
Stephanie, Michelle and Ke were absolute powerhouses in this movie
This movie deserves every. Single. Award. It has ever gotten.
I know it's a recent movie but I've seen it 6 times... favourite movie of all time. Hits every emotion in the book. Good luck trying to put this one under one genre
This movie brought us a bunch of things. Loads really:
Michelle Yeoh for showing us her acting chops, and then some.
The Stephanie Hsu erasure 😩😭
@@kevanmcdougallmph RIGHT!!! As if she didn’t DEVOUR two complete opposite roles in one movie!!!
@@kevanmcdougallmph Please.
The daughter role is important but the majority of the film is Michelle's role and scenes.
@@Tao_Tology Excuse me? I'm not saying Michelle didn't do well at all. I'm simply stating Stephanie's performance also should be highlighted for goodness' sake.
@@kevanmcdougallmph "Excuse me?"

I’m not crying, you’re crying 😭 This movie deserves all the love and attention it’s getting, and I agree with the actors & directors that it is so important during this time. An instant milestone in cinema 😍
Hello how are you doing?
EEATO is the movie that cannot be recreated. There will be never another movie with the original script like this, and an amazing cast like EEATO.
I cried so many times just watching this clip ❤ especially the Michelle & Ke Part
Definitely one of the best films of 2022 if not, One of the most memorable and impactful films ive ever seen ever.
I haven't wished so much for an actress to win Academy. Michelle, I wish you good luck!
An absolute masterpiece. Worth a second watch, it makes you feel the widest range of emotions.
This movie deserves the Oscar, I thought I wouldn’t see another movie that made me as emotional as it did until this one. I ugly cried and hugged my mother got the longest time after it ended and I’m tearing up just watching this clip.
Oscar, you wanna prove you're the gold standard bearer of modern cinema? Give EEAOO the credit & recognition it deserves.
4:33 The word iconic gets thrown around a lot anymore but this scene is truly iconic. A piece of Hollywood history.
This whole cast is amazing. Personally rooting for Stephanie Hsu the hardest, but also Mihelle and Ke.
@@The-KP yet Stephanie and Michelle have Caucasian partners, as usual. Give it a break
@@JL-yq9xn That has nothing to do with anything
This is such a beautiful movie. I'm SO HAPPY it swept the Oscars. Finally they got it right! I'm so glad it's not just a cult classic and that more people will see it.
It's so genuine and sincere in its emotions. I love seeing a story about love that is unironic and sincere while still being absurd.
I want this movie to win all the awards
Cate has 2 already, time to give someone else some love.
Cate blanchet's perfomance in Tàr >>>
@@putinscat1208 if the oscar should go to the best performance Cate clearly wins the category
@@farithfalcon4538Bitter much?
It was special to see Michelle as this character which showed such simplicity and fragility when we're so used to see her as strong, complex and powerful women whenever she's on screen. She was just as amazing in Star Trek!
Best Picture, statue or not. Just incredible.
Best Picture in decades!!! Hard to beat.
Plus the seamless switches among mandarin, Cantonese and English.
its the perfect movie. it spoke to my soul in a way that nothing else on this earth, in my 37 years of life, ever has before. I felt seen, and not alone.
I call It an exponential movie. Huge!!!
Rooting for this movie to be at least get some nominations and now it's the most decorated Film of the year. So whatever happens I'm very please it get the recognition it deserves
When Ke said “This movie couldn’t have come out at a better time” he is absolutely right about that. We all needed this movie.
Michelle Yeoh AND the film deserve the top prices. It is time a pure Sci-Fi film wins Best Picture
Michelle Yeoh absolutely pulled it off absolutely perfectly. Fantastic!
I've seen this movie for a few times now, and I'm still crying at certain scenes
This movie is EVERYTHING! My fav from 2022, and I’m sure it will become a classic. The ‘be kind’ scene, I’m crying again 🥲 I love this movie, and the Best Visual Effects Nom is missing. I hope wins everything, everywhere, all! ☺️
It became my favorite movie not because of the weird action, but because of the heart behind all of it.
Not just the best film this year, but one of the Greatest of all time. Every performance is amazing and you laugh, cry and are changed for the better by this film.
Just received news and surely this is a very good joyful one, Michelle Yeoh is the Oscar winner ❤
loved this film. one of the most original, funny and heartfelt films in recent memory, and the fact that it manages to hold a sense of plot cohesiveness and tonal consistency, throughout many different styles of genre, for two-and-a-third hours, is nothing short of an incredible feat. it's amazing on every front and i'm genuinely happy it's getting the recognition it deserves
And the fact that is is still being shown ONE WHOLE YEAR later, speaks to the power + relevance of the film.
Even the gigantic blockbusters can't accomplish this feat.
Michelle Yeoh should win best actress
You had all the right people in all the right places, the perfect script, and everybody did their job above and beyond. It's a beautiful thing when it all comes together and works.
If you can make the audience laugh and cry within the same silent scene between two rocks having an imperceptible conversation, you have given your movie life. I cannot believe this was directed by the same people who made the Turn Down for What music video.
honestly imma just watch the oscar only because of this movie and brendan fraser
hope they get ALL the oscars 😍
every shot in this movie is artwork
BEST PICTURE
BEST DIRECTOR
BEST LEADING ACTRESS
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR
Best editing, best supporting actor, best song too
JUST GIVE THEM all 10 Oscars !!! And The Oscars will be great again
Daniels wearing Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan t-shirts just gave me the biggest smile haha ♥️
The movie may not speak to everyone’s heart and mind, but it does for me. Oscars or not, I love the movie is able to heal some people in real life.
OMG not my heart just crying happy tears again! for the 32times! from just clips of the movie ! GIVE THEM ALL THE FLOWERS ESPECIALLY my QUEEN YEOH!
This is one of those rare movies that comes along and is just really something special. I only finally got around to watching it for the first time a few weeks ago, and I've already watched it three times. The cast, the script, the visuals...it's easily earns it place as one of my new favorite movies of all time.
What an incredible film. From the day I watched it last year to this day, still resonates with me... please, please win Best Picture!
this movie makes me sooo emotional
I’ve seen this three times now and it’s a different film every time. I’ll never pin it down - it is symphonic in its breadth.
Future Academy Award winner
Michelle Yeoh is extremely underrated in Hollywood. She's the queen.
And they don't even know it.
@Westend Greens Extortion I am sorry that you have bad taste for movies.
Absurd, right?
omg I love the shirts the Daniels are wearing! One dedicating to Michelle, one to Kuy... perfect
Yes i could not talk at all, i felt like i was drunk.
Literally the most moving film I've seen. Deserves all the Oscars!
Michelle Yeoh deserves an Oscar for her performance
She’s incredible in this movie.
such a beautiful and necessary movie, especially during times where so many of us find ourselves in existential dread. finding joy and meaning in the meaninglessness of it all. i hope this wins the oscar for feature film
I watched this film expecting nothing and after the movie was done, it gave me everything I could wish for in a movie.
As an Asian american this movie hit so fucking deep I hope they win big at the oscars the whole cast and crew deserve it
Stephanie and Jamie both deserve awards. Make an exception.

This movie has so much heart. Reminds me so much of Undertale. Both grounded and have kindness, empathy, and love as the central theme of each. I have not seen a movie this hearfelt for a very long time.
