This course starts at the very beginning with the fundamental basics of Fingerpicking/Arpeggio in the style of Paco de Lucia.
No matter what level you are, please start this journey from the very beginning. You will have a great time and improve a lot.
In the first lesson we´ll learn the ascending Arpeggio with index, middle and ring finger (p-i-m-a), the correct movement of the thumb and "Full Planting".
Of course you can use this fingerpicking technique for all styles or genres of music.
Let the lessons inspire you. Create your own Arpeggios. Write your own songs. Grab your guitar and have fun….So let´s get started.

@@vahidreza6773 Sorry to hear.
Amazing lesson. Frank gives detailed instructions that form a recipe which contains the secrets of speed and accuracy, not like "here it is, I can do it, now, you figure out how to do it! Good luck."
Thanks a lot Frank.
Awesome. Thank you Mr. Sam :)
One of the best guitarist guy ever watched on youtube. You’re awesome. Thanks for the classes 👍🏽🙏🙏🙏❤️

Thanks dude. Really appreciate :)
it really helps . .after all these years. . . to actually learn to do it right . .awesome and thanks
@Earnie that´s fantastic. Keep moving forward :)
I down loaded the free sheet & tab music. Its very clear, and you get a chord directory for the piece. I'm having real fun with this one. I've played classical for some years so I pick it up fairly quickly. It's good to be playing something different.
Thanks Terry. Check out the other lessons as well. Cheers, Frank
I have been looking how to play this style, now you have given me what I have been looking for. Thank you.
Thats fantastic! You're very welcome :)
Thanks for showing the right way.
You are welcome :)
... The more me listen again....The more you play well....

Thank you Mr Frank, the video quality is great and your instructions are really good but I appreciate if you show the chords that you use and your left hand movements too.
Pouya, with my left hand, I am playing very simple chords. You can download the booklet with the instructions (and chord diagrams) for free on my website www.franksteffenmueller.com. If you need more help, just write me again. All the best & practice hard
Thank you, I did, some of them were a little vague for me, but thanks any way.

Awesome :)
Thank you for the great lesson! I noticed that when you play the progression you don't place your fingers back to the palm. Is this technique only when practicing or should I always use it and you just don't use it anymore because you are very advanced? Thank you so much sir!
The fingers should always go into the ball of the hand. This is "The Paco Technique"! I just played a little sloppy 😉
@@FrankSteffenMueller Lol thank you so much sir!
❤ good lesson
Thanks 🙏. Check the other lessons as well!
Why is it so important to place your fingers inside of your palm, it find it quite a challenge and makes it more difficult?
You are absolutely right. Using this "Paco de Lucia" technique is quite a challenge. Most classical players use a technique where the movement from the fingers comes from "somewhere". Every movement is different. If you use the planting- and the finger-in-towards-the palm technique your movement from each finger is always exactly the same. This way you can easily train your muscle-memory. Hope that helps. Cheers :)
@@FrankSteffenMueller owhh Okey! Makes sense now. I've got some problems increasing the speed... Sometimes it sounds perfect and than suddenly the timing's a little off... I should practice it this way since it's a much more consistent way of playing. You're a hero, keep it up man!
Very, very cool, Frank.
Thank you so much Shannon :)
Thank you so much 🌹🙏🏼❤️

Awesome. Sir . Thank you.

GREAT THANKS
Thank you my friend :)
Hi 👋 great video 😁 is the timing different to usual, as the 3rd and 2nd top strings sound wrong on my guitar?
Thanks 🙏. Do you mean the tuning? It's standard tuning (E A D G B E). Cheers :)
Frank Steffen Mueller thank you for the reply, my tuning must be wrong 😂

Nice sound. What were the chords sir ?

Just ordered an Ortega BWSM/2. Hope it's amazing because my Cordoba was cheap-ass garbage with intonation issues
I love my Ortega Guitars. If you need extra low action for Flamenco playing, I would suggest a good luthier and invest another 50 bucks. Have fun with the guitar!!!
@@FrankSteffenMueller this instrument is phenomenal. Figured walnut looks almost as beautiful as it plays. Would recommend Ortega to anyone after playing it all day!
@@DaltonPhantom That's fantastic. Have fun with it :)
Thanks a lot🌼🌺🌹💐
You're welcome my friend :)
If chords shown on screen it will good to learn and easier to play

Awesome
Thanks 🙏
super
thanks!
Thank you for a beautiful and relatively simple arpeggio!
I'm wondering if it's possible to play flamenco on an electric guitar? Have you seen it done before or should I just fetch my acoustic guitar already?
You can play Flamenco on Electric guitar as well. But it's totally different. Sound, feeling, timbre, everything. Check players like Amir John Haddad or Ben Woods. Cheers :)
thanx you for helping me . and the last solo is so beatiful and romantic .. do you have a privat online school ??
You`re welcome. I´m a guitar teacher in real life as well ;) I don´t have an online school, but I offer Skype lessons for international guitar players.
Here’s the link: www.franksteffenmueller.com/lessons-booking
Looking forward hearing from you!
Cheers :)
Thanks for the video. Do I have to planto the thumb? I find it easier not to...my thumb lifts as do my other fingers....
Dear Amelia, planting the thumb is a "must" in flamenco guitar music. Without planting you can't play typical flamenco techniques like alzapua. Practice it! Just use the Arpeggio 1 lessons and practice the right hand only. These lessons are right-hand- lessons. The chords do not matter. The goal is to build "muscle memory". After a while it feels so natural! Cheers Frank
@@FrankSteffenMueller Thanks for taking the time to reply. I learned guitar when I was 8, unfortunately I hardly played during my life, now that we are in lock down I decided to practice everyday!! THANK-YOU so much for your videos...changing the thumb habit is hard...it seems to block the rest of the movement of my hand...
My goal is to play Paco de Lucias' Entre dos Aguas.... the endeavour of a lifetime!!!!!
Once again thank-you for sharing, your style of teaching is very clear and easy to follow (the chords would be nice to know tough, so when I practice arpeggios, the sound would make sense, for me that is motivating).
Stay well!
@@elismycat you can download all exercises, instructions, sheet music, tabs and chord diagrams FOR FREE on my website at:
▶ bit.ly/2IAO6KX For Entre Dos Aguas you mainly need an excellent Picado technique (tirando with planting as well).
What is the finger technique right at 0:16 that you're doing?
Playing percussion on guitar ;)
What song do you play at the end? I really want to know.
It's a improvised solo over the chord progression I've used in this lesson. Cheers :)
The challenge I never expected it would be, so my big toe has to go up
Sounds good to me. Have fun with the lessons. Don’t forget to download the free e-books 👍
Hi,
Do you still sell your courses in 2021?
Is it something we can download or is it online?
Hi, you can learn everything on my RUclips channel and download the books for free ( see video description).
By request of many people you can also buy and download the complete package (7 videos, books, backing tracks).
Here is the link: ▶ payhip.com/b/u2Sp
Hope this helps.
Cheers Frank
I assume thats nylon strung? Thanks
Flamenco guitars always have nylon strings. But of course you can also do these arpeggio exercises on a steel string as well. Have fun!
is there any problem if your thumb doesn’t rest on any strings
If you want to learn flamenco always place your thumb on one string and always play with rest stroke.
Thx. Enjoyed your lesson, but, you didn't show us the chord progression you are using.
Daniel, you can download the booklet with the instructions, tabs, chords, diagrams for free on my website www.franksteffenmueller.com.
i went to your website and thinking to subscribe - btw could not find 'booklet' with chords etc for arpeggios #2 anyway, grateful for your tutorials

No chords....very sad. I thought i would find the chords on your website...no. Only basic chords that we all know.
Надо внимательно слушать учителя. Было сказано,что это традиционный набор аккордов в румбе.
I need the chords. I understand the fingering. Can you draw the chart of the chords. Maybe I'm in the wrong class.

do you need a flamenco guitar to play these? because it sounds horrible on my classical guitar
You can do it on a classical guitar too but you need a low action for a more percussive/flamenco sound. I used a classical guitar in this video (Ortega RCE158SN-NT ▶ amzn.to/2WCdvaH ).
Hi Stephen why don't you teach moving left hand at the sane rime ? Also , lesson can be going too fast:)
Bacause it's a picking hand lesson only. Cheers Frank
Sir can you please do a basic lesson on siente mi amor
What do you wanna learn? The chords and comping?
