Bravo. Lost for words. Its great. You guys should get the movie rights from now on.
This is a masterpiece, please, please do the Arklay series!!
Her finger on the trigger, absolutely a no no. Whoever filmed this has not one clue about CQB and gun safety. Epic fail.
Hey everyone, Andrew here, Director/Producer of the film. Thank you all for your patience on the release and your support. I hope you all enjoy the project.
This is the thing we need ! Thank you for this ! Great job,to all the team and we hope to get more…
Incredible film!! I hope you do another for the researcher on the first fall who tried to leave but Wesker told him he could not leave.
it was awesome better then Paul WS Andersons moive for sure
Thank you so much for making this, Andrew.
I love it, really do. Especially that 'Chris' is playing the keeper.
I got a question though:
Why was a Hunter chosen for the pig bit? I felt it was always very clear that he was writing about Eliminators.
Not really criticism, cause it looked and sounded amazing, since you used new versions of the OG music, just something I wondered.
All the best
This 20 minute short had more soul than Welcome to Raccoon City and The Paul Anderson films combined.
Welcome to Raccoon City is a good movie

Excellent job, Andy. ❤
The fact THIS is the first time we see a Hunter in live action. Impressive CG for a fan film.
Honestly, I think 90% of the time between filming this and releasing this was due to animating that Hunter convincingly
@@CrowTR0botI like how he looks in resident evil 3 remake
@@KitKatLivves Trash CG dafuk you looking at
And even more impressive when we compare it to whatever that was in Welcome To Racoon City with a drastically bigger budget at $25M (cut down from $40M so who knows what could’ve been with that extra $15M but that cgi monster was…not impressive)
CGI doesn't mean live action. . . . .
It's so cool seeing all the effort that went into this, finally coming out as a finished, polished project. Fucking well done to everyone involved. Hollywood, now has a bar they need to clear for any future RE films/shows.
Thank you buddy 😎
😍
Agreed! Andrew saullo and the rest of this team should be in charge of the RE films going forward!
Lmao you think that Hollywood give two shit about quality? They know that theirs costumers are zombie and will eat every single piece of crap they put out.
I like your optimism, however Hollywood doesn't care. Even if they knew what people really wanted, they still wouldn't do it. Hell, they could've hire the original actors that played in the live-action cutscens and do a proper movie. If regular people were able to find out who they were, I'm sure those Hollywood big shots could've done it too. But they don't care.
Not only do I adore that this is based on the keepers diary (always felt that file was iconic); but this proves that the og series as a film should feel like a niche horror art project... Not a flashy big budget Hollywood production that caters to modern tropes.
This is brilliant.
You got RE1 Remake Chris Redfield voice actor to voice the keeper and the original RE1 Chris Redfield to play the Keeper. 👏
Yeah and he did a good job. I like this short movie...better than the original movies
Damn.
Not only that, they got Pablo Kuntz (Wesker from the 1996 game) to voice Wesker here too. Plus Ward E. Sexton (the guy who shouted "RESIDENT EVIL" whenever you started playing) to do the title.
SO THATS Where the crowdfunding money went....OUT THE DOOR!

As a fan of Resident Evil since the 90s.. THIS is Resident Evil. Nailed the atmosphere 100%. Great job everyone!
It was an amazing experience and a dream come true to help work on this project and this shows what a ultimate collaboration between RE channels brings to the table when we all worked together back in October to bring this magic on screen. Much love to the RE community for making this fan film possible. Enjoy and we'll see you soon!

What the hell do we have to do to get a faithful show/movie adaptation of Resident Evil like THIS. Fantastic work. It reminds me of the proof-of-concept, "Arklay".
Chris Redfield! This is everything a RE fan could ever want. This was fantastic!
This was absolutely phenomenal, from start to finish! And as a lifelong resident evil fan, I think I speak on behalf of everyone when I say: THANK YOU! This brought the kid out in me and hopefully there is more to come in the future. Well job, everyone.

I don't care that it's 20 minutes long; this video alone is better than most of the live action RE films combined! Definitely worth the wait and hope big studios use this as an example of what a live action RE film should be!
I hope they hire the residence of evil team to do the movie😆
@@Trickst3r915 That would be awesome! Now we'll see how the WTRC prequel will be!

These are the people who should be making resident evil movies. You can feel the passion and respect for the original lore.
This was unreal. The care. The passion. Everything about it was better than anything official capcom has ever put out in theaters. I'd love to see more resident evil notes made into short films like this
We need a whole anthology spanning the entire timeline
@@synaesthesia2010 I'd pay for that. I quality look into the stories that happen in all of those amazing notes left about the games.
Came from Bawkbasoup live streaming and watched this. Incredible job! I would trust this team to do justice to a resident evil series!
The Hunter was always my favorite non zombie enemy, He demands so much respect and you are actually scared to lose your life when you see one of these walking around. the licker is alright, but the Hunter says it all within the name. So glad you guys put a spotlight on them. BIG PROPS
Why couldn't they do this with all the shows and movies. True fans of the source material and it's obvious. Well done!!!!
Politics
cause the filmmakers and showrunners aren't actually fans of the games, they just see an IP that can be exploited and do the bare minimum when making projects.
I believe we are the first fandom to be crapped on. And some of us warned other fandoms but they didnt listen till it was too late.
Certainly not the first but the longest running. The video game genre in film has a rough start but most franchises went back to the source material and are now making money.
It's been a long time coming for RE fans though
Because the people who do the shows and movies aren't fans of the actual games, so they don't give a shit.
Thank you for this.
I wish hollywood had one tenth of the passion and love you all have for this series. For any true RE fan reading this, lets send the entertainment industry a message! View, like, share, super chat, whatever you can do to support this,
WE DO IT!
Hollywood hire people who HATE what we love, they see a white main cast and can't wait to 'diversify it' and 'gay it up' They will NEVER make a perfect lore and character respecting Resident Evil film or series. Those Thomas Anderson movies as lame as they were are the closest you'll get to mainstream live action respect but these days you can forget it. In racist Hollywood 'white and straight' is too pale and stale........
But too bad,
Entertainment industry in Hollywood is already dead
@@furrycheetah That is true and I am not sad about it. Something new and better will take it's place once it falls.
The Aqua Cure and Safsprin was a nice touch, Wesker was perfect, the subtly of it all unfolding was off-putting and creepy. I love how Andrew gave a little Homage to Paul Anderson's film with the Umbrella soldiers , and the Marylin Manson esqe music in the hall way 🎶.. Seeing real Dobermans in the kennel gave us a glimpse of what's to come . Loved the remixed version of safe room music during the end credits, the hunter looked and felt very much alive and threatening, it's noises were reptilian yet foreign.. It made my skin crawl.. Thank you for the original moonlight sonata score as well as the ending of credits music from the remake on the GameCube..
Absolutely fantastic job guys ❤❤
I've been playing Resident Evil since the first game came out all those years ago. Thank you for doing this. The keeper's diary note added so much depth and flavour to that original game.
It's a terrifying and sad concept of a virus that the person has little to no control, but they latch onto old regular habits while turning slowly.
This turned out incredibly well done. It's the atmosphere I've always wanted in a RE film. Thank you to everyone who made this possible.
This just proves that Resident Evil fans will ALWAYS make better RE films than bigger studios 🔥

THE TIME HAS COME!!
Enjoy everyone!! This is the final product of a great team working diligently towards the finish line for months on end, before, during, and after the shoot in October. Why is this 14 minutes the best live action RE content ever made?
It's hilarious how this 15 minutes video is better and more faithful to the story than all resident evil movies produced combined together
This is how a RE series should play out. There's the main story, but there are all the other side stories as well. This was an awesome take on one of them. Thank you for all your hard work and loyalty to the source material.
If anyone in Hollywood with a brain saw this they would hire the team behind this short film and give them a big enough budget to make an RE1 movie. This was awesome! Even the layout of the house that leads to that room was the same. I’m extremely impressed.
Unfortunately it didn’t do well enough. Movie itself is really good and I think the people who made this are crazy talented but all Hollywood producers see is what will make money and 56,000 views in 24 hours just ain’t cutting it unfortunately

Since I was a teen, I always thought the Keeper’s Diary was such a cool mini-story inside the game, and one of my favorite “files”. It really helped to the world building and getting the player into the lore. Thank you for bringing this to a live action. I’m waiting for your next project!
The aqua Cure and Safsprin were a nice touch! And this was MUCH better than any of the mainstream resident evil movies. If only the other directors there cared as much about the game lore than just making "another zombie movie" and slapping on the resident evil name on them.
Kudos to a job well done
In the 28 year history of the resident evil franchise, their has NEVER been a more faithful, quality, adaptation of the source material than this.
Absolutely fantastic work. Will support. 10/10.
Been a fan of RE since '96. This is a dream come true. Thank you.
This was an AMAZING short! the level of detail portrayed in this film was so faithful to the game. I NEVER imagined "doggy food" meant he ate a dog, i always envisioned him eating the dog's food! But this was an even better glimpse into the breakdown of the Keeper. ALL of you did a fantastic job and proved what passionate fans are capable of doing when given the opportunity. BRAVO
Right!? Somehow I always imagined the Keeper going down to the dog kennels to feed the dogs and sit there with them eating their food (or the dogs would be gone and he'd be there alone).
@@GrandmasterDevo Pretty sure that's just how they interpreted it since there's no other information than what is written in the note. I always took it as he ate the dog's food because he was reverting to a more animalistic creature so it makes sense for him to be eating actual dog food and not think it's gross, but this is definitely a cool take on it for sure that I was not expecting lol
These types of films are what fans of this saga deserve, faithful to the game and that essence of Resident Evil, I can't wait to see the Dino Crisis film ❤❤❤
This is great. You can tell the people who created this film have a real passion for the source material. The casting was perfect, and Charlie, specifically, did a fantastic job as the Keeper. I hope there are other Resident Evil ideas being considered for future projects.

You guys absolutely killed it! This just shows the passion of the fanbase and how these games have survived with the amount of nostalgia they produce. I cannot wait to see the new Dino Crisis short film; really hoping it has backer perks like this one did.
Amazing how on a small budget, you managed to capture the essence of RE more than any big Hollywood studio. Awesome work!
This was both a fresh take on Resident Evil and so nostalgic at the same time. Felt like I was back in my childhood experiencing RE1 for the very first time. Amazing work.
I have to say as a fan from the beginning of the RE series this made me very happy. For the amount of money raised this is very impressive. If only Hollywood would take notes from actual fans of a franchise before cramming seven crappy movies, soon to be eight I believe, and an abomination of a tv series down our throats. This is what we want. Everyone involved did such a great job. Thank you!
Joe Whyte as the keeper's voice is the cherry on top. I'm literally in tears right now. Awesome production.
You have something here. It's like snippets work better in the RE universe rather than long length films screaming for an ending.
Well no, the movies just havent been faithful to the games.
@@jamespaul6315 yeah true. The way I see it, the best Anderson movie was the very first one. Only because it SORTA captured the atmosphere that the first game established. Sorta. However for me WTRC was leagues ahead of any given Anderson movie only because of it's set design and ONE very solid scene in the mansion that I consider to be the best RE scene in a hollywood live action film.
Still even WTRC felt like they just shoehorned things together which is the wrong move to make with anything RE. The beauty of it is when you can live in the atmosphere and explore the world. To let the dark tone really set in. I also do enjoy how WTRC showed zombies being closer to something like this. Which is how RE zombies work. There is a point where they are sentient but also unable to control their actions. Sorta like a possession. Which honestly makes the creepy factor ten fold for me.
But yeah I think the problem is they want to shoehorn so much of the IP in a film project instead of just letting us enjoy the story and atmosphere. I still say that the franchise would work better as a series. Each season covering a game. All culminating to the final season which unfortunately would be RE6. But maybe by that point we'd be okay if they went a bit more original by that point lmao
@@nunyabidness3429 i enjoyed wtrc the biggest issue i had is it should have stuck to just the first game. It didnt need to do a mash up, the first game would make a great movie alone.
I feel like we all have been curious on what happened to that guy. I was satisfied to see that's what this was

They made an awesome and faithful RE film with little budget. Even basing it on one of the most famous RE journal entries! Why can’t Hollywood get it right?!
hollywood writers don't care for source material. instead, they would rather inject their own ideas into it. resident evil in name only
While it's not perfect, it's way better than anything we got before, the slow dread of watching this man gradually become more and more infected with the virus, unaware of what's happening to him until his mind is completely destroyed is haunting to watch.
It's incredible how some fans who don't even have the support and budget for a film that they give to the mediocre producers of ALL the Resident Evil films and with the little they have, they managed to make the BEST product so far. and MOST FAITHFUL audiovisual of the saga, my congratulations.
