This song was part of the movie original soundtrack. The Ramones are one of the greatest punk rock bands ever. The parts with Timmy Baterman (whom I refer to as the first human abomination), and Gage were the scariest bits for me. Ngl, even in the broad daylight walking around the lake I live on, I was looking over my shoulder as I felt like Gage and Church were following me. The song Pet Semetary by the Romones is played at the end of the movie when the picture fades out suddenly when Rachel is bringing the meat cleaver to Louis's head then the picture blacks out and you just hear Louis screams as the Cleaver cuts his head off. Then the song starts up as the end credits start rolling Amber. And it wasn't the Pet Semetary itself that was cursed, it was the MickMack Indian Burial ground that was cursed that first Church the Cat was buried in the burial ground first and then Gage, and last Rachel. The ground is sour. according to the Ghost Pascow. Sry Jay but the movie even gave me nightmares. I have the movie now and it has taken me a long time to be able to sit through it. Amber is right I was innocent when I saw it and wasn't anymore so much after the movie was over. It's one of Stephen King's best Movie Adaptations. The book is even scarier than the movie. I wouldn't sleep with the lights off after cuz I thought the undead Church would come to my window and then undead Gage would slice my Achilles heel like he had done to Jud Crandall. I am sry but I know my book characters names when it comes to Stephen king books. I always liked the Romones songs though.

I am talking about “The Name Game” by Shirley Ellis. I bet you will find it difficult to play, at least at first! It’s a wordy game song. Once I got it, I couldn’t get it out of my mind, I even play it with my kids that don’t know the song, using their names. Try it with your names.

On April 8, 1994 my punk band was on break from touring & us & a couple of other bands headed down to Atlanta to see Frank Black & the Ramones. On the way down from Nashville we heard non-stop Nirvana blocks on all the rock radio stations between tapes, wondered why, & got the news they'd found Kurt Cobain's body. That night the usually quiet Joey Ramone dedicated this song to Kurt!
    RIP Boys!🙏

Probably my favorite Ramones song. A bit atypical in that it’s got a darker tone, as opposed to their usual upbeat punk style. The movie is in fact based on a Stephen King novel, and like others mentioned, he is a huge Ramones fan. So when they agreed to do this song for the soundtrack, it must’ve made his day.

    Jay and Amber,
The Ramones are widely considered the inventors of punk rock, and are a hugely influential band that set the template for all the speed punk and pop punk bands that followed. They influenced everyone from the Sex Pistols, to more modern punk and metal bands, such as Metallica, who are also huge Ramones fans, and who have covered some of the Ramones' songs.
This particular song (and the video you watched) was created because Stephen King is a huge Ramones fan and wanted them to do a song for the movie. Their music is also in the Pet Sematary movie, specifically the music that the trucker is playing while speeding along the ill-fated death road.
They released many full length albums in their time, so there is a wide variety of stuff you could choose to react to. My favorite album of theirs is titled Leave Home, so I would probably suggest a song from that such as, "Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment," or "Suzy is a Headbanger," or "Pinhead."
Just FYI, I know that you loved the movie School of Rock. In the scene where Jack Black is teaching the class rock history there is a flow chart shown on the black board that lists the most influential bands in rock and what sub-genre they are. The Ramones are listed in the Punk Rock section. AND, the awesome song that plays over that entire scene is the Ramones song called "My Brain is Hanging Upside Down." Also, you didn't appear to notice, but there were some cameos in the video from some other notable musicians, including Debbie Harry from Blondie. Just a little interesting trivia for you.

The Ramones are considered one of if not THE progenitors of American punk. It's hard to pin down because the early punk bands emerged at roughly the same time from club scenes in New York and London. What's important is- they're fun and they're good.

Ramones are probably the most influential punk rock band of all time. There first four albums are some of the greatest albums of all time. They had good music throughout their career and they were an amazing band to see live. I lost count of how many times I saw them live but it was probably like 10 times. If you are into silly movies, you need to check out the movie Rock n Roll High School. They played a major role in the movie and had several songs in it. It is a cult classic.

RAMONES rock! This song is pretty tame, but it WAS for a movie soundtrack.
They have a ton of fun songs like Teenage Lobotomy, Sheena is a Punk Rocker, Beat on the Brat, Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment, Cretin Hop, Rockaway Beach,
    Rock n Roll High School
The movie was OK but the Pet Semetary novel is frickin twisted and terrifying.

This song was on the sound track for the songs name sake. Movie was based on the Stephen King book. ALWAYS watch the original. Not a fan of part 2 or the remakes. They just don't have the same feel.
