      Hey nate not a question but an idea, what if you took a micromesh fabric that stretches slightly and printed directly onto it? Certain parts would benefit from added flexibility and you'd have superior coverage for limbs like the knees and elbows while freeing up movement in the hips/back/torso and neck

    If I may dare to put forward an idea, maybe the slightly plasticy noise the parts make when rubbing/hitting each other could be fixed in a subsequent video?
    For example, by gluing a thin layer of rubber or foam on the inside to absorb vibration?

    Okay. So, you answered my question about why you chose 3DP over a very light metal suit. Two things to think about:
    1) Installing a fan system for ventilation, at the bare minimum.
    2) Segmenting the abdomen area (below the pecs to the waist line) for increased mobility.
    Love how the suit is looking and and I can't wait to see part 3.

    I feel bad that most of the suggestions require either reprinting or cutting, both of which require going through the sanding process again (so lots of pain and suffering). Only thing I would say is get a black morph suit (you don't need the hood part, but could be useful) and get a personal A/C collar. This is incredible and even if it doesn't have the mobility you want, it looks amazing and your hard work is paying off!!!

    Nate, have you thought of 3D printing on fabric to have parts on your joints where you can allow for more mobility? Like making the thigh shorter to allow more bend and then 3D printing onto the underarmor (cloth) the armor bits that are plates in-between? So you have sort of a combination of hard armor and flexy 3D printed chain mail jumpsuit underneath that fills in the gaps between the armor.

  • @SandraOrtmann1976
    @SandraOrtmann1976 Год назад

    So far, this suit looks absolutely fantastic. What I would suggest though: at the elbows and knees, your limbs really do stick out and look a bit thin. Maybe add some details to trick the eye. In the first Iron Man suits, ribbed gaskets were used at these spots.
    Another thing considering maybe fans inside the suit so you do not pass out wearing it for a few hours. They can be connected to a power bank. I am pretty sure you will find some crevices where you can put tiny PC fans. Particularly in the helmet, but maybe also in the torso part.
    (Myself, I have only experience wearing a Mandalorian 3d printed kit. So there are more gaps and not as much plate coverage, at least with this kit. Still, fans in the helmet are vital. Otherwise, you get fogged up almost immediately).
    Guess regarding taking steps, you would have to change really lot, particularly at the joints. Maybe with the next iteration?
    Looking forward for part 3.

    Nice build it is one of the best ironman suit here on youtube. Small opinion… I have seen a lot of these full body suits use a thin/soft fabric material for the inner layer between the joints. It might sound a bit counter-intuitive but could it be possible if a more resilient material is used instead? So something more like leather or vinyl fabric for example or even flexible parts made of softer and thinner plastic etc. I think it would make the suit more “high-class” and special in a sense. Also, a quick question: if you would ever build a second one after gathering all the experience from this one, would you consider making it matte? Cuz I feel like a matte finish would be easier to achieve and it would make it looks more like the last nano suits Tony wore in the movie, and I’d imagine it would also be closer to how wire brushed/matte metal looks than when they are in glossed finish
