Happy Monday folks! Time for a case outside of the usual True Crime format. What do you think happened to Melissa Caddick? Let me know below, and I'll see you again on Thursday!
I think that she was murdered
I believe after the raid ended, and L.E. left she panicked. Anxiety and reality kicked in and she couldn't bare to face the music. I 100% belive she either told her husband she was going to jump or left him a note to that effect. She most likely told him if she was dead he would at least receive her life insurance to live on and raise her son. I think she then kissed her son goodbye as he slept( if you recall her son said he heard her footsteps walking then heard the front door click), left her keys and cell on the counter, the ran the 300 meters to the cliff and jumped. I belive she has passed away, and it was by choice. Her perfectly curated life, reputation, relationships, and image we about to crumble. I think she feared a shattered facade, disgusted family & friends, public humiliation, accountability, and dangerous angry investors much more than she did a flimsy jail sentence. I think she was a coward and would have rather died jumping off of the Dover cliffs, rather than face the media revealing her true intent, actions, and crimes.
@@audisnewbeginning8616 I concur
I think she died but idk
Very nice coverage!
i dont know how her family can be adamant that "she would never kill herself" when clearly they also believed she would never steal and squander all of their money. it's probably time to accept that she wasnt the person they thought she was
I think you nailed it!!
you said exactly what I'm thinking. In my opinion why wouldn't she honestly? She had lost everything and had no way to recover.
I totally agree. When Adrian said "She could face as little as 2 years" I couldn't help but think with everything gone it would probably feel more like a life sentence
@@xanderblackstar8236 I think it was more a matter of pride. She would’ve lost her son in prison as well.
For real, "she'd never let her son be alone in the world", yeah that's why she stole millions and risked going to jail, haha. So dumb
It annoys me that all these scammers only do it for a high life of buying designer clothes, trips abroad and to show off. It takes a special kind of evil to take someone's life savings. What a tragedy that she has a child.
easy money is often spent in a quick stupid way ! for stupid things ! stealing people to spend their hardly earned savings like that is really disgusting. At the end, there is nothing left .....
you kind of have to live that way to put up the appearances of success to get people to want to be involved with you in that world though, thats why most scammers do live that way, it helps sell the con. "Surely they must be saving tons more if they can spend like this!" etc.
As a man whose treasured motorcycle was stolen two weeks ago onlly to be trashed and abandoned after a week, I can tell you, these scum care NOTHING for anything but their own self gratification. They're a scourge on this planet.
I can’t believe she did it to friends and Family and her OWN PARENTS. Wth? She was once’s conned and she does it to people she knew?? I wish it had been ended sooner than 8 years, she had 8 years to live off other peoples hard earned money
@@danielfreer8487 Yes it is true, and they bet on people's greed ! If someone offers you 10% (or more) profit on your money, you should back off quickly ...
If she really did take her own life, there could be a chance that it wasn't because of her crime getting exposed, but instead because she had listened to Anthony's album sample.
😂
Hilarious
"Everybody has their way of grieving " shouldn't make everyone with hearing grieve too
DEAD 💀
🤣
When she left her husband with nothing after robbing him both stuff and bank account, then later on won the house for her to sell... That judge just legalized theft for Melissa.
Don't marry, these judges are crazy and they will always side with the woman
@@Unbounded7 they actually tend to side with the person who can afford the best lawyer.
@@Unbounded7 always. Men don’t get a fair shake in the legal system
@@Unbounded7It’s so fucked up but true. All these draconian practices should be abolished. She wasn’t an England national and still got the baby and house she wasn’t even planning on living in.
I was curious if Hubby 1 had a terrible judge or a terrible lawyer (or both). I mean, having absconded with all the cash he should have at least gotten the home. Plus kidnapping the child.
I don't believe for a second the husband didn't know. The fact he thinks he should get to keep a car bought with someone else's life savings shows what kind of person he is IMO.
He knew, he was just as materialistic and didn’t care about the victims
Honestly wouldn't surprise me if he's the one who threw her off the cliff, stupidly thinking that he would get to keep everything if she dies before being convicted...
Oh yeah, those dumb Aussie police (in a metro area larger than NYC, so not bumpkins) must not have looked into that at all? You've heard a 26 minute video about his wife and you now believe you know for a fact he's guilty?
I wish I could like your comment several times!!
very true, it's like knowing the car is stolen but you still keep it, the car doesn't belong to you, period.
The first major crime, after the 2000$ stolen, is the fact that she drained everything from her first husband unbeknownst to him, left the country with THEIR baby and the judges STILL granted her the full share of a $1.3M house ?!? What in the actual hell?? There needs to be more fairness in custody/divorce battles.
Croikey mate
Lol, anyone who pushes for genuine equality in the family court system will be in for a shock when they see which sex will fight hardest against it.
Seriously…
Unfortunately the house was probably in her name since it was her money that bought that house. We don’t know the details of the financial agreement. But I do agree with you family court sides with the women too much. He probably just cut his loses and started a new life since she cheated. It wasn’t stated so we can’t assume.
@@AmbuBadger You forget women didn't stand any chance until such things as family court, alimony, divorce settlement came into existence. Even, despite these, vast majority of women still get to have nothing at all. Clearly you haven't a clue how stats swing.
I agree with the staged suicide or real suicide theories. Amazing they let her husband keep the house and give him an allowance from the stolen money. I believe he was fully aware of the scam the whole time.
It would suggest that she made a calculated exit
@@sytherwusky oh hell yeah... she staged her suicide, chopped off her foot to make it look real and then took off with the money she had stashed somewhere. She probably had a secret account under someone else's name not connected to her, and an escape plan set up for years. She knew eventually this would come to light.. so she would have been stupid to not have a backup escape plan. She is probably living in a nice little beach house somewhere remote in Costa Rica or Brazil or something.. she could easily live like a queen there until she dies on a couple million no problem.
@@lj0727 maybe she was afraid someone close to her was going to give her up to the feds
The husband has now lost the house due to court order
@@MyYTaccount320 Great news
Her reaction - scratching herself - during the raid makes me think that she ended her life rather than face everyone when all was exposed
Australia/ I dont believe her behavior indicates that. When you look at her whole life- THAT FEMALE is/was CAPABLE OF anything.
Crazy cuz I had the same thought. Pretty much nobody wanted anything to do with her to even THINK of killing her😒🧐
yep I thought the same
I agree. She was embarrassed….shamed…and caught. She would not cut off her foot. Beauty…Aesthetics were of importance.
@@lfbutterfly Or real. So I would assume it's the husband. Because if I had a long time girlfriend or "wife", I'd be furious like no other to hear my lover died. Too focused on those possessions (probably didn't even pay for 'em)🙄
My mom is 60 years old and we both grew up watching Forensic Files. I wish I could somehow tell you just how much she loves your channel after showing her! It's like Christmas to her!
I’m glad! Tell her I said hi!
Cool😇😬
Yes, I'm glad someone said that! This channel reminds me a lot of Forensic Files, which is one of the best forensic/criminal investigation shows imo. I especially appreciate the set-up for the crime, the focus on the victim, the empathy, lack of facetiousness (this is something that other channels fail to do..), and detail into the case!
Before my Mom passed we both watched it together as well.
@@CoffeehouseCrime Oh gosh I did and she said no way! It's like she was talking to one of her favorite actors! It doesn't mean much, but thanks for responding. :) I love seeing smiles on her face.
The way the husband victimised himself the most because he didn’t want to lose his 400k car, when others lost their life savings kinda tells you all you need to know about him. He totally knew.
He actually really didn't. My dad works with his brother, Chris. Anthony was completely blindsided and still to this day believes she is innocent despite the evidence against her. Anthony was being emotionally and financially abused. It's really sad actually.
My dad says Chris states that no one in the family liked her, thought she was bitchy, stuck up, and walked around with her nose up in the air. So even though they didn't know, they personally were not surprised by this. Anthony is the only one who seems to think she was innocent.
@@getjoacookie wow, that’s interesting, I believe you. She really hurt her first husband as well.
@@getjoacookie - How exactly was he being financially abused? Wasn’t she supporting him? They certainly weren’t living off his earnings as a dj!
@@Darkstar-se6wc from what I've been told by my dad from Anthony's brother is that Melissa initially showered him with gifts and this lavish lifestyle, encouraged him to follow his "DJ career" (suspected to them knowing he wouldn't be making much if any profit from it), took him on expensive holidays, exclusive black tie events, however, after getting settled establishing a allowance which hardly left him with much more than to pay for fuel and a few meals.
He had less than $2 in his account when she disappeared.
All the fraud is in her name, so all accounts in her name have been frozen, the car that he drove (but was registered in her name as she bought it for him) was auctioned, the house has been auctioned. He's been left with basically nothing.
He's been doing interviews with "news" programs here in Australia just so he can get money to survive because the poor dude had no skills or career to fall back onto.
@@a.marvellehoneyman4560 she certainly seems to have left a firey path of destruction amongst the lives of a lot of people close to her. Feel bad for everyone involved. Other than Melissa obviously...
[Edit] actually, no. I feel bad for Melissa too. Obviously a very sad, bitter, and insecure person at the end of the day.
$30 million out of her friends and family ? I need to get a new family and new friends 😂
As an aussie, it makes me happy when you cover crimes here. Maybe because you and Mr Ballen are the two I follow who treat cases with so much respect for victims, and come at cases with such an even handed manner
As a fellow Aussie, agreed on all counts. MrBallen and Adrian are the best at this artform.
The foot in the shoe is actually a pretty well known phenomenon. Apparently, a tight sneaker can preserve a foot far longer than the rest of the body, as it dissipates in water. At the beaches of Salish Sea in British Columbia random feet wash up with a horrifying regularity. It's worth a read.
Brew did a really good video on the phenomenon. Definitely a good video to check out for a little Brew after your Coffeehouse Crime!
Same thing happens in the Northwest of the United States. Many feet have washed up on shore, and many of them were found to have come from China. If they can float across an entire ocean than this story is very plausible.
Shark bait
If I could leave and start over and needed to cut a foot off to escape- I’d do it
I read The Last Season a few years ago about a missing Park Ranger, an experienced back country ranger. Several years after his disappearance another park service employee found a boot near a waterfall with the foot was still inside. It was him. That was an odd case too, I don't think homicide was suspected, but they never determined if it was an accident or suicide.
The fact that she would only get 2 years in prison for these crimes is appalling.
They said that's the minimum, she could have got way more
yeah they gave Dread Pirate Roberts 2 consecutive life sentances plus 40 years, and this chicky was facing 2 years? unreal.
How about when a person said, Everything is O.K., your not in trouble.
I bet if it was the IRS she had screwed over that much money, she would have gotten 200 years...
@@thomask6798 That's her dad not a judge.
For those of you that don't know this area. It's a very popular suicide spot. There's signs all over the place with hotlines for help. There's an old guy who lives across the road from where a lot of people jump, he's talked a bunch of people out of it.
I think your refering to The Gap at Watsons bay. The kind old man who helped talk people out of jumping off the cliffs unfortunately died several years ago.
You know how annoyed I'd be if someone stopped me from killing myself like I to make my choice get away from me.
@@vizioax2people who want to kill themselves are not in their right mind, it’s up to someone in their right mind to help others when times like that arise.
So an interesting fact of Melissa's disappearance that was not included in this video was that Anthony didn't report Melissa missing for approximately 30 hours after her last reported sighting. Anthony did an incredibly bizarre TV special/interview with Channel 7 in 2021 (well worth watching cos he had them use his music throughout the special and it is terribly horrific) and he comes off very poorly.
I stand firm that Anthony killed her tbh. I think they both argued after ASIC finally left around 7PM on the 11th - the good times were finally running out and they were panicking, possibly pointing fingers at one another (whether he knew or not, he benefited hugely from her crimes, and clearly has not wanted to give up what she gave him). Things got out of control, they got physical and she wound up dead.
I just can't get past him waiting 30 hours to report her missing. Also that when she died, she was presumably in the same clothes she has been filmed in the day before (the same running shoes - and I wouldn't be surprised if she was in the same workout clothes) as if she had never gone to bed.
If there was a chance she was still alive, I'd say he spent that time helping her escape (and it's what alot of people assumed for a long time). But the foot in the shoe came from a dead body, so I think he used those 30 hours to cover up his crime. He comes off as this dopey, dimwitted guy - but I believe there is someone under the surface who is as cunning and ruthless as Melissa was.
She committed suicide.
Good theory. But just like any other, as long as her body (dead/alive) is never found, it will always be just that; a theory.
@@Josehish Theories are the studies of facts. This isn't a theory this is a hypothesis.
I agree, I think it was the boy-toy husband
Yeah it was her foot but how you do you know it came off her dead body? She could have had it hacked off while she was very much alive. I mean she could have hidden the majority of the money just in case she had to make a quick get away and paid to have a prosthetic foot fitted. There is no doubt in my mind she had a back up plan and money stashed away somewhere should the day come she had to make a quick getaway.
Imagine a family members takes you for every penny you got, tells you she lost it all in the market, then you watch her move into a 6 million dollar mansion, and spend $30,000 on protein shakes…..but they say “She would never kill herself and leave her kid.” Umm, yes she would.
Exactly! She doesn’t care about that kid or anyone else.
she deserves all bad things coming to her
I would've beat her like how Stewie beat Brian when he didn't pay him.
If that happened to me I will sleep at her doorstep and demand my money back .
I will camp at her doorstep.
Don't forget that child was with a former partner living the opposite side of the planet. That matters significantly.
The husband's smile while pleading for her to return is so freaking unsettling.
His frosted tips in the year 2020 are what's shocking.
I would be smiling too
Yeah he's a weirdo. The whole story kinda bemused Australia.
Finding foot in a shoe is common. A weighted body with runners still on will decompose in the water, eventually releasing the foot. A sneaker is foam and floats. The shoe can preserve a foot for longer than you think. We have had many runners with feet in them wash ashore here in the Vancouver BC area.
A person could argue that if YOU know this, then Melissa knows it, too. She's not a dumb bunny. You can learn O so much in just one or two hours online. Personally, I think her overall and over-arching deceit is just SO deep that I wouldn't put ANYTHING past her.
I have a hard time believing her husband didn't know. It is funny how when he finds out how she really made her money he doesn't want to make things right. My heart goes out to the investors and her children.
She definitely took her own life. Her family claims she wouldn’t have done that to her son; I’ve watched ALOT of crime coverage and just because a person is a mother doesn’t mean a darn thing-As bad as it sounds. She was selfish enough the lie and steal from every single person she came across so why the hell would she not ditch out on accountability to those people?
It'd help someone who she robbed from to imagine her dying at the hands of some vigilante. But likely she found the end of her rope and... Let go.
Plus it’s not like she was a great mom. She stole her son and used him as a pawn in her marriage. Like.. even if she loved him, it was as an extension of herself, I doubt it was the all consuming love I hear many parents talk about
@@chelscara she took her kid because she didn’t want to have to pay support, some parents want control and see children as “money”
I disagree. I believe she was murdered. A piece of her was found which for me indicates dismemberment
I can agree and take it a few steps further. 1) She left here phone/wallet at home before her "jog". That means she knew she wasn't coming back. 2) As you stated, she is selfish - and in fact she may see herself as "redeeming" herself by killing herself in order for her child to "live a proper life without the shame...yadda yadda"
I think she realized the most important thing to her, wealth, was being taken from her. Even if she only served a short time in prison, she'd never have her luxurious lifestyle again. That lifestyle was more important to her than her husband and son and she couldn't face going on without that.
Totally agree, she might have faced as little as two years. But to her it probably felt like life.
I think you're right, she became addicted to that lavish lifestyle.
I think it's more about what wealth signifies. Having wealth means you are more daring or clever than most people. It's the humiliation of being revealed as a crook she couldn't live live with.
@@denisegore1884 interesting point, you might be have hit the nail on the head there (assuming she's really dead :p)
More than likely the loser husband who couldn't face losing that lifestyle - an unemployed hairdresser and untalented DJ by all accounts 🙄🙄
This is one of my favourite true crime channels. And you're so dedicated to it, even when you're sick with a cold!
The amount of research and care you put into each video is amazing. Thanks for everything you do bro 😎
As someone who has had to encounter suicidal ideation I can tell you it is absolutely possible to go from never having thought of killing yourself to knowing how and starting to carry it out in just a few minutes. If she is like me she found the cliffs a little too tempting and she, unlike me, didn't have anyone there to stop her in that dark moment.
WoW Really ,, OMG,, thats Very Interesting .
I'm glad you chose life
I had this due to an abusive ex. Her actions isolated me from friends. Something happened whilst i was meeting two frends for the first time in months and i broke. A train station was a minutes walk away and had my friends not been there in that moment i would have taken the express out of life. Doing so would have meant leaving behind my (at the time) 3 month old son. So glad i didn't but yes i agree the speed of the thought process is frightening
That theory implies, I think, that she somehow CARES about things and has (perhaps) remorse--or something like remorse. But we KNOW that isn't true. Sooo, bridging that gap--for me--is just too great. We're talking about a woman who's brazen BEYOND BELIEF!!!
I’m sure if you asked her family if she would rob them of their life savings before this, they would swear never! People do the unthinkable all the time. You can never be certain of what someone may do. Especially when being exposed as a monster.
Very good point!
Surely, a psychopath. Some bad wiring, and stole from her own family without a problem.
WOW, her husband needs to get a real job and sell the house so people can get their money back.

I can't say that I feel sorry for the husband, at all. Him grieving and wanting to keep the house and car are two totally separate things. If he truly didn't know she was running a Ponzi scheme, he knows now, and to still want to keep the house (and being pissed about losing the car) absolutely blows my mind. What an entitled man-child. If he wants those things, he can get a job and buy thongs things for himself. He's a POS just like his wife was.

I have a feeling he knew about this and if anyone killed Melissa it could be Anthony! Because maybe he thought if she wasn't convicted for fraud, he would be able to keep her wealth!

Why am I watching your videos back to back!!! I think I need help lol
Thank you for covering this! I watched this story on 60 Minutes Australia but I am so excited to hear your take on this!
There's a bit of amusing irony in her being investigated by ASIC here in Australia, and the first part of her body to be found was in her Asics branded shoe.
I was thinking the same thing 🤣🤣
that's not irony, just coincidence
😂😂😂
@@huh968 Co-incidences can also be ironic.
The Oxford English Dictionary on 'irony':
"A condition of affairs or events of a character opposite to what was, or might naturally be, expected; a contradictory outcome of events as if in mockery of the promise and fitness of things"
So, yes, it is co-incidence.. but to me, it's ironic too because she was being investigated by ASIC, with guilt beyond question and harsh punishments expected. Instead she 'disappears' and the first sign of her fate happens to be her foot in a similarly named shoe, as if to signal "hey guys, it's the end for me, ASIC got me" (hey, the shoe wouldn't even let go of her decaying foot lol). It's mildly amusing reading into it like that, with a mocking imagination.
But now I've spelled it out, it's lost any entertaining value.

People like Melissa are everywhere. When a story sounds too good to be true concerning money its too good to be true. Take your money and run
It’s funny that the same family and friends who say she would never kill herself, a year earlier, would have said that she would’ve never stolen from her friends and family. They obviously don’t know her nearly as well as they taught they did.
I thought the same thing!
There's no way she's alive. She left on foot, wasn't captured by any surveillance cameras, her passport was already seized and her assets frozen. She was quickly known all across the country. Without a doctor to perform an amputation, there's no way she could have cut off her own foot. I think suicide is the most likely answer. Loved ones always say 'they would never do such a thing' after a suicide. But suicidal thoughts come up very suddenly. She had just lost her lifestyle, her reputation, and was about to endure the media and court attention and questions. If she had the means so available to her, it's likely.
This was a pretty interesting case. I really love this channel!
@@dontbewoke Sea creatures ate the rest. Hopefully they weren't harmed by doing so.

I love that these scammers all give their "clients" reports showing such ridiculous profit margins. The "investors" are nearly as greedy as the scammers.
I remember the public sentiment in Sydney when media announced her ‘body’ (aka dismembered foot) was found. It’s considered a bit of a joke, and part of her bigger plan to disappear. There was a longer (maybe 60 minutes) doco that interviewed a lot of her victims and they pretty much unanimously declared they couldn’t care if she’s dead, but think she’s still out there, maybe off shore.
That sounds about right.
Surveille her for months, then Freeze her accounts and take her passport... but don't put her under surveillance post confrontation.
Cops: doing our jobs is hard
That foot was definitely planted. There’s no way a foot was found intact after 100 days at sea. I don’t think anyone would plant just a foot either so that authorities would say “oh we have part of her body, she must be dead”. She’s out there hobbling around somewhere.
Excellent job Adrian ❤❤❤❤
That 5 seconds of audio from the husband's album was the most disturbing thing I've heard in any of your videos.
His dj career is coming to an end.
🤣
There's a documentary on RUclips about feet, in shoes, washing ashore in British Columbia. It has been determined that as a body decomposes underwater, the feet will break off at the ankle, and especially with a sneaker attached, which is buoyant, float ashore. Unfortunately a common occurrence. They even site this case.
Great work bro enjoying watching
I don’t think she’s dead, just judging by her husbands reactions. That’s not a partner that honestly doesn’t know where she is or thinks he’ll never see her again.
It just blows my mind how she could get desperate enough to actually voluntarily have a part of her body removed.
Makaveli, eat your heart out!
I think she had a red eject button, meticulously planned and organised on how she was going to escape when the shit hit it, passports, new identity, new hair, 1 foot
Husband definitely knew and I'm very sure that she had an escape plan set. Theres no way in hell that someone who'd been working so many people elaborately for 8 years would not have an escape plan with a separate bank account, mobile phone, car, passport, etc. all set and ready to go. Its also funny that after all that shes done, friends and family still believe that she'd never abandon her son or take her own life.
They are saying she'd never kill herself to keep the case alive. If the police declare it suicide they will close the case, end the search, and shut down any hope that she will be found and the money returned.
👍👍👍👍 My thoughts exactly 🙂
Nah, far too difficult to get out of the country unnoticed. And anybody would recognize her in Australia. And an escape plan that involves cutting a foot off?
She's dead. Took the easy way out.
You will be surprised the amount of scammers that do these things without having a back-up plan
She sought status. Not just wealth. Look at the neighbourhood. The cars. The media profile. That disappeared when she disappeared. Financial and emotional and social collapse near a cliff face…suicide.

How do people like Melissa sleep at night? knowing you have robbed people of their hard earned money for your own selfish gain. I just can't fathom it
I can't fathom it either! Money isn't that important to me. I'd imagine she'd have some restless nights in the beginning. Then as time went on, her lies being believed (she probably started believing her lies too) I'd imagine she slept pretty well. Especially on thousand dollar sheets! SMH
She is a sociopath
She just happened to piss off another one with power to dispose of her
they are psychopaths. They have no empathy. There are quite many people like that. Often they are in jail or they are very succesfull businessmen/women.
Alas, like a baby. It's part of the mindset.
As an Australian Sydney-sider I have heard this story so many times! And they even have a show in Australia called Underbelly and they are doing Caddick this year! So I was going to watch this later BUT I am so glad I listened now! You told the story so well!! Really good...you have a very logical and clear approach to true crime.
Podcast Liar Liar is real good too.
@@Karzieks Thanks! I will check it out!
I’ve just watched it. It’s here on RUclips
People who commit fraud like this are almost always psychopaths.
She put strangers, her friends, her entire family in huge financial and emotional jeopardy, left without explaining anything to her family that might help them…..
that sounds like psychopath.
Or maybe her family knows everything and have access to millions….
Wow! What a crazy story!
That "music" is beyond horrible! 😂 You have my everlasting admiration for speaking about it both honestly and professionally. Your videos are always amazing. 🔥
Mu-sick. Also she looks like a man in drag.
I kind of suspect the husband tbh. I think he didn't want to lose his cash cow. He has questionable morals. He was going to lose his entire lifestyle that was built around her fraud - and he was under the impression he would inherit her assets, despite them being obtained fraudulently.
I think the husband was just a stupid airhead to even believe he would get to keep all the ill-gotten gains. He's as shallow as a two-inch ditch, and he should stay away from anything resembling music.
I lean that way too
I came looking for this comment. As an Australian, this was on the news frequently & he is completely devoid of any emotion when he was appealing for her to come home.
You see the contrast here between the husband and her brother emotion wise too.
He is the one that said she went for a jog, it’s all on his word.
Yeah I think he killed her thinking if he claimed no knowledge of the crime and that she was "missing" they couldn't garner what he considered to be his rightful assets; like the car, and the house. Now he's mad because it didn't work the way he wanted it to.
@@faffinoodle I'm quite surprised everyone seems to be overlooking the husband as the prime suspect here. In situations where a person goes missing without taking any of their personal items and then turns up dead, it's usually the spouse that killed them. She didn't take any personal items she would need if she was going to abscond. It means she died in the house and was disposed of by the husband. Maybe the son helped in the disposal of the body under pressure from the husband and is now afraid to tell the truth.
Adrien, I have become hooked up to the calm, easy and nonchalant way with which you narrate these gruesome tales.
Are your checkered shirts customised?
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 🎉
Me and my grandmother loves your channel Adrian. We are all the way from South Africa. We love it when you cover stories from here. Please please do more! Good luck with your cold. Hope you feel better soon!

Adrian, please take a look at this case: "The murder of Vicki Terblanche"
I'm from Melbourne, Australia and remember this being in the news quite regularly. I thought from the very beginning that she had jumped, no doubt shark bait. I feel for her family and friends, torn by the loss of their life savings and the loss of a loved one. How can they possibly grieve properly for someone they have just found out, they never really knew in the first place, given that she was a pathological liar. I know I for one would be thinking, was any of it true?? Did she really love anyone other than herself and money?? I hope her husband and son have or can find peace in all the mess she left behind.
"and the loss of a loved one"
X Doubt
I hope I never have someone like this in my life.
The music comments made me laugh out loud! I love your humor!
Do you know how many people commit suicide even though all of their Family and friends say “they would never do that” LOTS. She took the cowards way out.
Although she is a terrible person for doing what she did, I have to disagree with your last sentence.
It takes a huge amount of courage to take your own life.
I honestly think if she did commit suicice, it was because living without money anymore was just not going to happen. normal people like us do not comprehend just how powerful greed can get. people do horrible things for it. someone once told me "money is not the root of all evil, but the love of money is".. and she was beyond head over heels in love with money.
@@TahmkenchTheCatFish
If you think you have nothing more to live for then it's easy. For her, it was the cowards way out. She wasn't someone who had everything taken from her, she took everything from everyone. She knew she would be imprisoned and saddled with debt for the rest of her life paying off the money she stole, she knew she would never be able to get a reputable job again. Instead of owning up to her mistakes she decided that she didn't want to take accountability. Just like she did with her first marriage, she ran, refused to take accountability, and left the people she scammed with nothing.
@@flipnap2112 That someone that told you referenced 1 Timothy 6:10 (King James Version) read in part: "the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." Melissa Caddick's case is a testament to this text/truth.
@@MustraOrdo that makes a lot of sense since it was my pastor ha ha! thanks
That part where you were going through her bank statements, I started to ventilate. I cant believe anyone would have the nerve to do such a thing. 😱
I used to live in the same neighborhood as her and federal police were in the area everyday.
Don’t understand how one would invest such a large sum of money and not be given access to an account (user name/pw) to see its progress instead of just waiting for statements in the mail from your financial adviser. Not being able to access it directly at any time you wanted would be a huge red flag for me.
Exactly. This, and the fact that the assets were growing 10-20% monthly, how ridiculous. Not to victim-blame, but some people are so stupid it makes one wonder how did they accumulate these amounts of money in the first place.
@@mamenamamena A trust in perceived 'authority' figures has been studied for decades and is often one of the reasons so many people get scammed. Melissa was a 'professional' in their eyes, she even had fake credentials she stole from a 'friend'. Most people don't know how to actually check into that to make sure it's legitimate, they assume that someone isn't going to be stupid enough to get looked into by the IRS. Especially someone with what they perceive as wealth.
When you invest in a hedge fund, you have to ask the fund manager for your money-you don’t have direct access to it. That’s how Ponzi schemers get away with it…For a while, anyway.
Hi Coffee House Crime. She was definitely a scam artist that only cared about her own interest and self. So many people seem to think life is only about their wants and needs and that is why life is and has been difficult for most people for a very long time. Thanks Adrian for another interesting case. I hope you have a great evening and an even better day tomorrow and each day in the future as well. Love your channel, peace and fascinating times to you, love, Janine Smiley😀🙂😎🤩😍
@@mamenamamena not everyone who's rich is so because of intelligence. Most are rich because of privilege and access.
I love that you included the loser's music. I've seen a lot of failed DJs and wannabe rappers in these true crime videos, but they almost never include their actual music.
Yup. Lol.
I thought my neighbour was tone deaf but this so-called “music” takes it to new lows. What crap! Primary school kids with recorders couldn’t do worse.
HAHAHAHA and Adrian's v casual comment abt hw his music is terrible cracked me up🤣
I don't know what that is, but it's NOT music, it's more like "sic"
His "music" is far from what we call music. He really put the "amateur" in amateur dj
This fascinates me, this one!
Stunning.
Never be sorry for being sick Adrian! Definitely take time for yourself and get well soon enjoyed this video during work today 💙
Honestly, I don't care whether it was murder or suicide. I'm just happy that we have one less scammer in the world.
If it was murder, moral of the story is don’t screw over people. You never know who might come for you. Death may be knocking on your doorstep and it is not a friendly greeting either.
Only a fool would say something like that. Sick!!
@@JohnBrown-hl4cy wah waaahhh
Phuck scammers
@@JohnBrown-hl4cy no i agree with them . if it was murder i hope it was painful. that thing is not human therefore human rights do not apply
@@jamminninja8924 That's your opinion and u have that right to believe what u want to believe and so do "I". life moves on . have a nice day
What a puzzling case. This is going to keep me awake!
It's also a chronic turn of events in such cases where somehow 30 years later, *these dirtbags show up alive!*
If she had been able to launder and hide most of the money, *I would wager she's still alive.*
I'm left wondering why the son wasn't returned to his father or taken in by family?
I’m wondering that, too. He shouldn’t still be with the step-dad unless he was old enough to make that decision??
Same here! 😔
same!? the only thing I can think of is the displacement of the child if he were moved half way around the world after finding out his mum died? being moved from all the family he knew etc could add more trauma, perhaps the dad is sorting things before moving over to aus? who knows
Probably bcos her fam lives in Sydney anyway? Or bcos of inheritance (her will’s) ?? The son would probably get most of her assets whatever left.
He is a teen now and apparently chose to stay with step dad
I find myself leaning more towards the suicide angle. Anyone with the means and the motive to want her dead would want some of their money back before murdering her. The only exception would be Anthony, who after being told of what was about to happen to their lives killed Melissa in a fit of rage and tossed her into the ocean, but I would assume the police have already investigated that.
I do find it very strange that Anthony is unwilling to accept responsibility for what his wife did, and believe that items that were ill gotten over the course of her misrepresentation should belong solely to him for the sake of his step-son.
Ya and she went running at 5am (most people are asleep still) so who would be out her house ready to get her unless someone hired someone to get her .
@@lisavanderpump7475 Also none of her victims knew that they had been scammed yet, she hadn’t been charged with a crime yet. Akso leaving her phone, keys and wallet at home doesn’t make any sense neither. The cliffs near her house are known for being a place where many people commit suicide. I personally believe she didn’t want to face her victims which were her closest “friends” and even her family. She would have had no one and her lavish lifestyle would have been over with the possibility of years in jail. Suicide is definitely the most likely scenario
I dont understand how anyone can believe she hacked her own foot off then tossed it in the ocean hoping itd get back to shore, with her foot still inside, and that someone would find it.
@@mikimiyazaki
Then you are truly blessed.
Because, that is exactly what people do.
I mean acts of extreme desperation.
Killing your spouse because you don't want get a divorce or lose your kids.
How is ruining your life & spending what's left of it in prison.
A thought that enters your head, first of all.
Much less the best idea your brain can come up with.
I think it is very possible she committed suicide.
Although her crime didn't involve the loss of life. She would have definitely gotten more than 2 years.
Unless, everyone she robbed appealed to the court for mercy.
Then maybe, a short time, followed by probation, never being able to engage in anything financially related.
Also, it would take some precise calculations, to guarantee her foot would hit the beach.
Not impossible, but it wasn't fresh by any means.
@@thomask6798 "thats exactly what people do".....
Right after she got busted, she left home taking absolutely nothing with her. Somehow on the fly was able to find an unscrupulous doctor to "safely " amputate HER FOOT... Found a safehouse to hold up in until her stump was healed (that'll take some time. As in weeks or months and not days), found an accomplice who brought groceries, supplies. Oh and she walked, or had an unknown accomplice to bring her to her stashed cash without using her phone which means she had someone buy her a burner. Right.. "thats exactly what people do" because the logistics completely add up for one thing, and 2, were in a tom cruise movie were amputations, surgeries, take place to throw off investigators
This is an interesting case!
"Suicide was ruled out by her family and closed ones..." - well, from my expirience, those are people, who often have no idea, that person wants to commit a suicide...
I just got a bit excited to open RUclips and see you've covered this case - I stumbled upon the 60 Minutes Australia specials a while back and thought it was really fascinating.

Today i am finally having coffee while watching this
Am sorry but his song at the end had me in stitches ..hahahhaaha
Her family is very kind, my ass would of been up there cussing her out for stealing my hard earned money. Nothing wrong with hating a family member that didn’t care for you. I hope she’s found and suffers the consequences she makes people in financial business look bad.
Exactly, nothing wrong with that. Some people put a lot of importance into family, completely disregarding how bad a person can be to their relatives. An asshole is an asshole, even if related. Especially if related. There is no reaon to put up with them, and there is no reason to force other relatives to put up with them.
She's the very definition of a "toxic person". Family or not, that's the type of person that needs to be cut out.

My wife's friend's dog walker's sister's cousin's son said that her hubby is a great musician who used to play in "The Wee Wee on Mama band".
You can't expect rich people to willingly give up any of their assets. Especially when they spend half of their lives ripping everyone off to acquire them.
The reason half of the world is currently starving to death is because of greedy people like this.
The lack of accountability & empathy among these "people" is quite distressing.
The punishment for those that do get caught is also way to lenient.
