For a minute i was thinking my podcast made it to the next level but I also thought it was weird that 2 different people contacted me on the same day when I'm not a big name outside my network. I think it's only because I am based in Sydney Australia so the times don't line up easily that saved me. Now, I've seen this - I'll contact the people they claim to be working for to alert them, too. Thank you so much!

I am SO THANKFUL that you shared those emails so that other folks like me who follow you get to know about this as well. Super thank you for sharing this! You have no idea. I got scammed when I was in my early 20s. I gave them my checking account and routing number over the phone. They told me that I had a credit card that was way past due and need to pay it otherwise it will ding my credit report. I was young and naive. I’m so glad you shared this story with me because now I don’t feel like the only one that got scammed.

In my area housing scams are really bad. A lot of ‘squatters’ are actually paying application fees, security deposits and rent to people pretending to be the homeowners. But really, they’ve found empty houses where the owners are not local so they change the locks, post fake ads online and scam lots of potential tenants to gather a bunch of application fees etc. some even let the applicants move in and collect monthly rents until the real owner finds out, the tenants have leases and everything. It’s a huge problem!
Fun as always. On the scam front - I work with a friend on a podcast. He has a couple million followers on Insta and YT. Also had a Facebook with 180K users. He got burned by the exact same scam. Invited on a "podcast" which seemed legit because he was doing a book tour and was on a bunch. Tech check. Screen share and they got his account. Started out spamming it with lots of porn. He is Meta verified but not connected at Facebook and customer support did nothing to help get it back. Like you - the page was not his main contact with people so he gave up. Facebook could fix this in all of 30 seconds. Pretty disappointing that they really don't seem to care. It's now just a bunch of spammy links to articles and websites - no doubt they are using these links to scam more people. I suppose they don't care because Facebook is somehow making money but if I was Zuck or a major shareholder I would care because they are just allowing their users to be served spammy, scammy content. Kind of crazy that they don't care to fix this and this is why I am never on Facebook.

I get spam and robo calls a lot. Look at their email that it's coming from. That rises a red flag. They like to use RE: in the email subject line pretending that you replied to their me.

No business would have a gmail, they would buy a domain. That should be alert number 1. Also change permissions or anything on your Facebook should make the alarm bells ring. Foreign speakers aslo, no video on call. Lot's of indications that this is a scam. But most people will experience being scammed in their life, so you are not alone.
