You are all egregiously naive if you think this “announcement” has a chance. Truth-tellers have never succeeded. The facts of atmospheric gases overwhelmingly conclude that human activity such as burning oil, coal and natural gas have no appreciable effect on or climate. In fact, the earth is in a carbon dioxide famine at this point in history. If anything we need more carbon dioxide, not less. Just watch a video featuring the world’s foremost atmospheric gas expert, William Happer and you’ll find all the actual verified facts to destroy the ridiculous notion of a “climate change crisis”. But you won’t. And the facts don’t matter. The powers-that-be (i.e. secret combinations) thrive on false narratives. That’s how they “terrorize” you. They use fear to manipulate you-the definition of terror. Disseminating the truth never works. Good luck though. Maybe you will be the one exception!!!
There are too many “professional historians” who have built their career on maintaining and defending certain narratives. They are not “good faith” actors. That’s OK though as the ground is shifting under them whether they are savvy enough to realize it or not. I think Don and Cheryl are smart enough to see where things are heading and are demonstrating the ability to at least appear open minded to new information. There’s no shame in changing your position when new information comes to light.
It is my firm belief that this controversy will never be settled by historical debate alone. The matter goes beyond that. But at the same time we do need to have a good grasp on the historical material that is currently available.
There will always be academics in their ivory towers who will mock and disparage these grassroots historians but it’s irrelevant because truth is coming forth and anyone who is an honest seeker of truth will recognize. They will remain safe in their cloistered strongholds while the truth simply sidesteps them and pushes forward.
I started the old video but had to pause it and come back later. I was disappointed to find that it had been taken down but pleasantly surprised that a 2.0 version had been uploaded. Thanks for getting Don on and being able to hear his perspective as well. This is really important news and will hopefully get at the truth faster and in an easier way than what has happened thus far.
This is exciting! I see so much potential in this project, and I’m so grateful for the work the three of you put in to this topic, as well as how open minded you all are. My understanding is that one of the down sides of the way that the academic community deals with this topic is that they don’t give adequate weight to the theological arguments that relate to it- whereas Michelle, Gwendolyn Wyne, and others have really emphasized that as being a very foundational part of making a historical case for an alternative narrative than what academic analysis alone has provided. All this to get to my question: will this journal be one where discussion and analysis of the theological foundations of polygamy are welcome/factored in?
Such a fantastic question! We are actually in the process of outlining the methodologies for the journal. This is a very complicated topic because of the overlap between theological and historical approaches. We are going to need to work hard to establish the appropriate methodologies to accommodate this topic in the most responsible and effective way.
"I'm not afraid of history" Amen but can I add "I'm not afraid of the truth" People try to ignore that MMM happened but they are afraid to see the truth about polygamy.
@@Telavian I don't think that will happen unless she accepts the possibility that Joseph, like Brigham, was not infallible. And both were subject to the deceptions of the flesh. I would think the first order of business before you get this train. Very far down the tracks is to establish and publish the parameters of peer review and who are going to be the adjudicators when there is a disagreement on whether something was peer-reviewed justly versus incorrectly or even possibly prejudically. That needs to be laid out, discussed and agreed upon right up front. Back at least two riding style guides travian and I think Colombian something. I am unaware of any long-term and agreed upon standard of what historical peer-review is. After all, I acknowledge that I am a History graduate school dropout. So that might have been covered in the three remaining classes I had left to complete my masters. However, I'm pretty sure that a medical journal peer review standards are different than peer review of a History journal or peer review of a philosophy journal or peer review of a Comic-Con blog. Let's get those field goals firmly and fairly cemented in the ground so that any future contentions can be resolved for the most part by referring to the founding documents.
Not a chance they’ll succeed. The leaders of this wonderful organic truth-telling movement are sadly naive. For instance, Gwendolyn Wyne uses Osama Bin Laden and the false narrative of Islamic terrorists being responsible for 9/11 in here argument that polygamy fosters heinous violence. She has no clue that 9/11 is a narrative as false as Joseph Smith’s polygamy. She’s doomed to fail and doesn’t even know it. Polygamy is a nasty abomination that makes men do bad things. But the fact that all 19 alleged hijackers were discovered to be alive and healthy and the fact that Bin Laden has been removed as a suspect is unknown to Gwendolyn shows her gross naïveté. This effort will most likely fail. The LDS Church and the anti-Mormons NEED the false narrative. Just as both the Republicans and Democrats NEED Lincoln to be the patron saint of the USA when he was actually its greatest enemy.
This sounds like it could be very beneficial. I would love to hear more voices on the topic and more (civil) discussion between different viewpoints. And also to hold people with opinions to an academic standard and to teach better methodology is going to help all involved. It can bring us closer to the truth and also encourage better critical thinking. I’m so glad this is going to happen!

For some they accept Brigham Young or Pratt and John Taylor for others except the Wilsons or Emma Smith and Lucy Smith for some they accept some of what These individuals say depending on the narrative that it supports. It can be a little bit disheartening when a sincere seeker is trying to understand the past and more importantly, the future.

It slipped and he stabbed himself in the eye. He could still see out of that eye, but he lost a significant amount of depth perception. To know what he could see out of his bad eye, close one eye and take your finger and place it about a half inch in front of your open eye. With one eye closed, he could still see through the bad eye but nothing directly in the center of his vision. Only things on the outside edges. According to ophthalmological exams, he would be either classified as blind in one eye or nearly blind in one eye. Depth perception for a quarterback is very important. You need to be able to see downfield 30-40 yd and judge if the defensive player is in front of your offensive player or behind him. And how far from the out-of-bound line or the goal line or the back of the end zone is. Think about that and picture in that in your mind for a second. This terrific quarterback went on to play in the NFL but led his team to win the super bowl twice! Incidentally, He grew up in a home of a mixed faith marriage.

@StompMom5 i have seen him in action...spends more time reminding his audience how important credentials are than rooting out the details of a subject. there are many...Gwendolyn, Rob to name two...that would smash him like a bug if they were ever behind the same mic. acedemics are one of the main groups that lucifer is working through to push his agenda...its been working great thus far!
I haven't agreed with everything that Don has ever said, but I don't agree with everything that I have ever said. I wish I could change many things I have said in the past, but I hope that people will give me a chance based on my work and engagement at the present and going forward. I have immense respect for Don and I'm thrilled that he is excited about this project. I think you will be happy with the other people who will be involved as well. I hope both sides will be willing to bridge the divides.
@MichelleBStone you dont need him sitting there taking up space by reminding you every 5 minutes how well trained and superior he is to you. you have allot more talent and ability than he has...judgeing by the fruits. he recognises this and wants to capitalize on it. now that the information is available to everyone...and not just the scholars...its a level playing field...run with it. acedemics including him have gotten it wrong...thats one of the main reasons this movement (the awakening) is gaining steam...the scholars have gotten it wrong...either by design or just blinders...either way...got it wrong...and you are uncovering the truth. take courage...move forward with boldness...the Lord is behind this excitement concerning these things
