You may not know that mainland China uses simplified Chinese, and what you posted is traditional Chinese used in China Hong Kong, China Macao, and China Taiwan.
You wear this Qing Dynasty costume, which is very beautiful and gives people a refreshing feeling, so it attracts the attention of passers-by. Actually 230 Yuan for a whole duck, as well as the kungpao chicken, is not expensive. I think it costs about 216 Yuan for a roast duck in Singapore, and not as nice !
don't worry, as long as you aren't harming anyone, no one cares what other people do in china 😅. just look at the parks. wear pajamas, no problem! bad dancer, who cares they just dance without inhibitions 😂. but chinese culture is not outgoing as much when it comes to strangers and especially so with foreigners. maybe they think you are cure and pretty in that outfit, but they will be hesitant to approach you to say it. it helps if you break the nice first with a simple ni hao. I know other cultures may view things differently but most people in china will appreciate you taking interest in chinese culture by wearing a traditional outfit. I would have left that candied fruit stick at the hotel instead of carrying it around all day though lol
Some people said I look pretty and were really nice! Others were just staring and it felt weird, but I know Chinese people are really nice and don’t have bad intentions:)) It just felt overwhelming at one point
@26:26 IMAO for something like this you would be paying 10 times the cost in UK or US easily. For a wonderful meal like this it is just slightly more expensive than a trash meal for 2 at McDonald in US/UK.... *sigh*
Yeah, I know it’s super affordable, I just mentioned it’s one of the most expensive we’ve had in China because usually it’s even more cheap! But it’s definitely a more than fair price for a delicious meal
