In this video we will go over Etherchannel.
Etherchannel is a feature used to group multiple parallel links into one single logical interface. This is great for STP redundancy because STP will only need to reconverge if all links within the Etherchannel fails. It also provides load balancing.
Configuration Options
On/On - This will statically set the Etherchannel
Desirable / Desirable - Will create a PAgP Etherchannel
Desirable/Auto - Will create a PAgP Etherchannel
Active / Active - Will create a LACP Etherchannel
Active / Passive - Will create a LACP Etherchannel
Show Commands
show spanning-tree VLAN VLAN Number
show etherchannel summary
show interfaces port-channel Interface Number

My goodness...how easy was that. Good job because what you did in 11 minutes I couldn't understand in 1 hour of reading!
Thanks Edward. Glad to liked the video.
yeah.. i mean i hate Wendel odom's 800 page long books in a way that cant be described using polite words :)...
this has helped you to undertsand because you have done previous 1 hour, which has set some prime knowledge already. Keep up the reading along side these, reading gives more indept understanding.
Yeah i totally agree, you can't teach someone a topic using terminology from deeper knowledge of the subject. Teachers forget this too much!, Not CertBros!
Hey Edward! Thanks for the good words, stoked you like the content! Remember to smash that subscribe button and hit that bell while you're at it so you get notifications for new content! God bless!
i watch all your ccna videos, really like how u explain and visualize on how things work. really helps with my understanding. thanks so much for your services!!
This video was extremely helpful, informative, and well explained. Thank you for your work.
Thank you! Really appreciate it and glad you liked it!

Maybe the best video out there. Simple, straight to the point. Well done !!!
Thanks for the kind words Marios!
These videos explain it so easy. My Cisco course took 1 hour what this took just 11min!! thanks for uploading guys
Haha! Thanks!
Studying for CCNA, wanted more info on this topic. You cleared it all up concisely, well done. I've subscribed.
Amazing superb explanation, some people are just born with the ability to explain things and you definitely are one of them. Look forward to more CCNA related vids and thank you very much.
WOW thanks Yusuf!!! More videos will be coming soon.
THIS VIDEO IS GOLD FOR ME!!!! Thank You for this
Great explanation, and great video. I appreciate seeing the command line for the basic setup. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Russ!
Super clear and efficient explanation! Thanks ! I wish there were more videos like yours in RUclips..
Thanks man! More on the way.
Keep it up! Don't stop the videos
No stopping! Thanks for the comment
One thing I'd add is once the port channel is up, if you need to make configuration changes don't do them on just a single physical interface at a time or the port channel will come down due to things not matching. Instead make changes on the logical port channel interface and the Cisco device will automatically copy those changes to the physical interface configurations so that you don't take the whole interface down.
Thanks for the tips!
Quick question:
Is it possible, that only 1 side uses EtherChannel, thus it would lead to strange problems?
Good video and good explanation of LACP from the switch side. I work on rack servers and dealt with an issue of a port-channel being down that was causing unreachability issues for a server. We aren't sure what caused the configuration to go down but once we determined the issue was on the switch side and not the host side, we got the networking team to fix the issue. It was boggling my mind, the on-site technician, and their manager.
Thank you very much! This was very useful!!! I would very much appreciate if you make videos about the CCNP Routing and switching content!
awesome explanation. thank you for not speaking so fast and taking pauses in between. helped to take notes on studying for my ccna. subscribed
Thanks Jonathan! That's great feedback 👌
CERTBROS, clear, simple, awesome! love the way you present the concepts specially when there are examples in the CLI, 2 things I would recommend 1. please use the correct names on the CLI modes so people start getting used to the correct cisco naming Exec mode, privilege Exec, Global config etc... and 2. Please a video about trunks, switch trunks. Thank you!!!!
Thanks man! Good ideas. A video on trunks and VLANs is on my to-do list!
Fantastic video. Short and clear. Good job, keep it up!
Thanks Alberto!
Studying for my ccna 200-301 exam with virtually zero prior i.t / computer experience and even though I am passed this portion in my studies I wanted a quick refresher course to reaffirm what I had previously learned since I wanted some clarification or a general overview of the topics to jog my memory a bit so thank you very much for providing such valuable and easily understandable content for free!
Thanks Patrick. Good to hear the videos have helped. Good luck with the CCNA. You're going to smash it!
Me too. Good luck Pat
@@Certbros I actually ended up smashing it, Unfortunately, In my job search it hasn't seemed to make much of a difference working on the SAA-C01 in the mean time but feeling a bit demotivated.
@@chrisyo4461 Good luck, If I can do it you can too!
@@youtubeaccount69420 Congrats Patrick! You've worked hard and you should celebrate your success. Keep it up and I know you'll find something soon.
Thank you. Your OSPF video helped a lot. I was able to configure the routing protocol pretty seamlessly after watching your video a few times. I’m going to do the same after this video. I see I’ll have to go back over STP first
you are the best for learning CCNA in english (i'm Franch) I bought your formation for trying to passe the CCNA exam !
This video just helped me troubleshoot my packettracer issue. I was not able to get etherchannel working because the speed mismatch. I was using fastethernet for one port, and gigabit for the other!

Great Video Man!
Thanks Robert!
Animated learning are always helpful.
Thanks for uploading
Good video. Suggestions though, 1. Do a shut command after int range. 2. Default port command after shut, and config all ports at one time. 3. Do the same on switch 2. Do a no shut on switch 2, then on switch 1.
Kool explanation, thanks sir
Thanks!
Enjoy the clear explanation and no waffle about your brothers wife's mother's cat like some teachers do lol.

You're awesome!
PAgP -> cisco
LAC-> vender neutral.
just remember that Pag is spanish for "pay up", which makes sense that it is cisco's standard. and according to cisco, it's desirable to pay up // *desirable / desirable* OR *desirable* / auto
AWESOME VID BRO
Thanks BRO!
Good stuff. Thank you.
No problem!
Very easy explanation. Can you please explain regarding subnetting and supernetting.
Thanks Mayur! Subnetting is definitely on the list!

Thank you very much
you are the best sir
Thanks for the video
Thanks for the comment!
great work , i have one question regarding ports selection on switches , means ports should be correspondingly on both side or we can select any available free port . thanks in advance
remember to use a crossover cable if u connect two switches or routers with another..
Do nowadays NIC's not automatically recognize whether the connection needs to be crossover or straight through, and then apply whatever is needed? I'm pretty sure they do
Nowadays NIC do but i worked with a older one🤷🏼♂️
dude you can't believe how you just saved my ass
it was fantastic, but for detailed explanation make lengthy videos pleasee
Thanks brother
those videos are the best, are there videos for CCNP also?
