    Well done! Very clever.
    I'm in the process of figuring out a way to remove the raised lettering on the tires. I have the latest re-issue of the BT-44B to be built as a tribute to Reutemann. I found the remains of the same model I first built in 1980, and am practicing on those tires. What has worked best so far is fabricating spools to hold the tires then spin them on a hand drill (used this method for many years to remove mold seams and "wear" the treads). Using very fine sand paper, patiently, spin the tire, slowly remove the lettering. The finished surface is dull, but then I airbrush a coat of thinned white glue on the sidewalls to restore the sheen. The markings are then painted on using PE stencils. This method also works great if you are using decals for sidewalls as the glue helps them stick and eliminates silvering.

      I translated and read it, but I am not sure which part you are referring to.
      If you can tell me the time it is playing, I can answer your question.

      0:06 How do you get gold/darker looking metal color on engine components?

    • @12percent_on_the_desk
      @12percent_on_the_desk  3 месяца назад

      Various parts of the engine?
      Gold and silver are available in numerous paints, so we use different paints for different places.
      In some cases, we mix them together.
      And if you make the silver base black, it looks like a heavy metal.
      If we make it white, it looks like new.

    Great job, I've seen the tires in my youth at Indy car races, you are right on but a little thick, I would back off a little next time and also there are little heaver at contact patch edges. Hope this helps. brilliant idea to accomplish, Jesus Does Save

    indycarのレース後はビクトリーレーンで結構長い間映り込むから参考になると思いますよ🎉レース中もピット作業後にレポーターが解説しながら使ったタイヤが良く映し出されます。
    少し片減りし、溶けた感じもあるとより、リアルですね。レースをよく見ている人や触ってる人間的には壊れてダート近くに停車した感じには作れてます!しかし、手先が器用で羨ましい😂🎉

      インディですか?!盲点でしたね。高解像で観れる環境を探してみます。
      この頃のF1はカラーとモノクロの写真が混在してて、しかも35mmフィルムを引き伸ばしているので
      細かく調べられないんですよ。想像で作っている部分も多々あるのですが、そこも含めて楽しんでいる次第です。

    Drivers deliberately drive off line on cool down lap to add weight and ride height for post race inspection. Nice job

    すごい、私も真似してみたいです。最後の小石パラパラは無い方が良かったように思いましたがいかがでしょう?

    • @12percent_on_the_desk
      @12percent_on_the_desk  Год назад

      どうなんでしょうね?1970年代のF1の写真ってレース後の写真がすごく少ないんですよね。あってもモノクロなんです。なので本当のところは分かりません。ただ、今でもピットロードって結構小石が浮いてるらしく、タイヤにくっつけてピットインしてくるそうです。とまぁ、理屈はこんなとこですが本音を言えばなんか違うことをやりたかったってだけですかね。

    A little heavy on the texture. Maybe just re-glue the black rubber dust next time.

    • @oldman9642
      @oldman9642 Год назад

      Agreed. I thought the texture was perfect after the first coat was applied. The tire would have been changed LONG before reaching this state.

      Exactly. I went to a lot of F1 races in the late 70's early 80's Stood right next to a 312 T2 at the LBGP after the race. First thing the drivers would do post race is slowly drive off line to pick up marbles, balled up rubber, on the tires to add weight for post race inspection. A few stones might be on the tires too, but mostly it's rubber.
      Excellent attention to detail! You have patience that I can only imagine. Have you built a Tyrrell P34? That's my favorite F1 car of all time.

    I do not understand why Tamiya never decided to chrome the wheels, would have been much more realistic.

      The wheels in the kit were plated.
      I removed them myself.
      I wanted to modify them a little.
