- Today we're trying a new Marvel vs Capcom 2 challenge! 5 supers. 1 combo. We gotta land 5 Air Hyper Viper Beams with Cable! Sounds easy, but it's tougher than it looks! I have a timer running too so you can see exactly how long it takes me. Good luck, I wanna hear you guys' times too!

Only in Marvel would you be worried about a character going TOO HIGH in a combo, instead of being too low lmfao.
Likewise, this was also a common concern that Marvel TO’s would have about the players attending their events.
Never played Marvel back in the day, but I'm experiencing that problem with Granblue now. Nothing is worse than throwing out a super but your opponent is too high to get the super cutscene or it just whiffs all together.

The sprites in this game still look boss, wish a fighting game would come out with old-school sprites, people would love something like that these days.
The best way to do it, is to avoid the tiger knee motion, and use the scimitar and cancel it the moment he leaves the ground, and after that is just normal jump into viper beam super, always hold down on the stick and mash.
I was scrolling down hoping somebody said something about the scimitar cancel. Thats the way I used to do it

Nah, your opponent can flip out of the combo before 5 if you use a scimitar cancel
Like, if you were legit playing a set you would definitely do scimitar because it's a hell of a lot more reliable than super jump canceling, and you wouldn't realistically do more than two, MAYBE three AHVBs in a combo.
I just started learning this game yesterday. I'm glad new content of this game is coming out.
Normally 3 on normal-sized characters. 5 on Sentinel and other large characters.
you can get 4 on normal sized charters at max but than they are to high and you can get infinite on sentinel
You have to tiger knee the first 3 at least. The last 1-2 can be done via jumping.
-The first 1 has to be mashed to pull the beam down. This is TKd
-2nd is a TKd unmashed while holding up
-3rd is TK'd with slight mashing while holding up
-4th is hard mashing or jumping TK'd while holding up.
-5th is jumping ultra hard mashing while holding up.
Sentinel can be hit by any number of AHVBs easily due to his heavy gravity.
You dont tiger knee at all. Half circle down to up is the correct way.

You should be practicing on Sentinel. On smaller characters in between each AHVB I do a jumping HK to send them back down in the corners because they slip out.

As far as I know, they changed HVB to be 1-frame in the PS3 version, so will this combo also work on the arcade or Dreamcast versions?
Its 1 frame accross all versions.

Everyone has 143 hp in mvc2 (like most CPS 1,2,3 fighting games).
Defense varies from 50% (servbot), to 150% (Sentinel).
So Sentinel can take much more punishment, but not quite 3 times as much because you reach the minimum scaling of 1 damage so quickly in the older games.
Not trying to be pedantic, just avoiding misinformation.

Half circle down to up is the correct motion. You dont do tiger knee motion.

You dont tiger knee. You just do a half circle down to up everytime. Idk who sold you on tiger knee but its wrong. You would have finished this in under a minute with half circle down to up.
